We were a proud band and we played our strange mixture of soul/funk and indie pop, mixed with comedy and physical performance for fifteen years with great festival success in Australia.
We wish we could’ve come to play more for you guys over in the USA, but it wasn’t to be for us.
Nevertheless, we were a serious band, and proud of what we did. We wanted to entertain you, make you laugh, and make your heart swell brother.

The first backing singer is Ngairre a friend of mine from a singer-songwriting career in my younger life before kids and farming life. Jake and Stav are great dudes, and they had some bangers with Bluejuice.
I was lucky enough to have some interactions with them in 2010 through a music journalism thing I was apart of, and they were funny, humble and very helpful.
As a Aussie now living in Canada, thanks for taking me on a nostalgia trip back home with these reactions.

Like a Version has some legit brilliant stuff; Missy Higgins covered Heart's A Mess by Gotye and it's genuinely incredible stuff. Same with Denzel Curry covering Bulls on Parade, it's incredible how hard he goes.

Bluejuice used to put on an amazing show live! (balance of talent and humour) I have many fond memories of them bouncing arond the stage in Kill Bill yellow suits.
Elana Stone is Jake's sister - explains some of her looks his way throughout, lol.

Bluejuice blew me away - ruffled my feathers - and turned the sky blue.
I think the boys pulled out all the stops for this one, they're good singers in their own songs, but they pushed a bit further here because the style asked for it. Their own songs are earworms that often have a touch of humour to them. I'd recommend Vitriol, broken leg, act your age, SOS among others.

It needed your voice, when you were singing along it sounded perfect. It needed the base that your voice added to it.
That was beautiful. I like Bluejuice, but I hadn't heard this before.

A little bit of an explanation of 'like a version'
every Friday morning the breakfast crew get an artist in to perform 2 songs live on the radio, the first song is one of the artists songs and the second song is a cover, generally from a different genre from the artists. there are some very interesting covers that have come out of this radio segment.
I generally dislike triple j, because of what they do to the music industry in Australia (if they don't like you or you don't kiss the ass of Richard Kingsmill, the music director you don't get airplay and if you are an Australian artist that does not get played on triple j you basically don't make it) but they are excellent at recording live music.
I think Dominic knows a fair bit about it actually- I believe they’ve interviewed him too and he really likes them 😂
