On the later 4840's they used tapered bearings and eliminated the snap rings. My neighbor had a noise in his PTO and split the tractor to find the idler gear had spun in the housing. He had by brother ni rod the housing and he die grinded it free hand to get it tight again. In the later models they used a deflector to get some oil up on that gear to eleminate the problem. He used the tractor on a pull type chopper though wich probably was harder on it.
@@Hinesfarm-IndianaTheres a thread on new ag talk with a guy talking about. Evidently there's an update kit to switch the output shaft over. The idler gear the guy sleeved and pinned the housing but it takes a lot of hard pto use for the idler to become a problem by the sounds of it
Heard the IH guys drive the front of tractor into the ditch leaving the rear sticking in the air so they don't have to drain all the hydraulic oil when they change PTO seal.
White 150 with same grain cart works well here
Hydro state on m2 still working well
Thanks for the show
Thanks for watching
Still sum 36 inch row corn here in Lincoln/login Nebraska county
