Oh Lord, that are the beauties on the oceans, no other ships on this planet are so wonderful. I love this class with all of my heart. It is a very very fine feeling to see them under sails. That is awesome. I wish that some boat builders let us don´t forget this class and builds some new, for us , for our children and all the next generations. This ships are a important part of the human history.
What happened? No media releases for over 7 years. I understand there was a J class boat regatta at the 2024 Americas Cup in Barcelona though no videos of the races☹️
@@grantlemmon2756 this is only true for the pre-J class boats (1928 and older) in 1930 they introduced the Universal Rule which brought about the Bermuda rig setup which all J-class ships were built with. There were however a few boats converted to J-class which did have a gaff rig but all of the boats designed as J-class were designed with a Bermudan rig.
It’s too bad we didn’t get to see any racing of the J Class. Little snippets no more. Compared to Americas cup now these boats are very slow but they are beautiful and exciting to watch. I would have liked to seen some actual racing.
Nice video! I guess you got plenty of footage - I hope you are also going to make longer videos with the actual racing. Im sure it would get tons of interest

When will the Js meet again for the next race??
I believe this September in Barcelona.
Which one "wins" is irrelevant. That they sail, is more than enough.
How fast are these?
Absolutely amazing! Did they sail with kites back in the old days?
the original boats were gaff rigged, topsail & 3 head sails.
