- 30 years ago, on June 23rd, 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog was released on the SEGA Genesis, beginning a new era of gaming.
Since then, Sonic has been running through countless zones, beating badniks, and saving the world with the help of his friends.
This performance is to thank you, all of you, for being there every step of the way, and to remind us all of the amazing journey we've been on.

I saw this show last night in Chicago. It was incredible from beginning to end. So much energy and nostalgia! One of my favorite parts was the audience, during the 2nd half of Reach for the Stars, they started turning on all their phone lights. It looked like a field of stars in the crowd and was done with no prompting from the singer.
It was stunning. If we were the most energetic crowd as they said, then I would happily take that emblem of honor.
I was also in that crowd and can honestly say that it was easily the most loud, energetic and hyped crowd I have ever been a part of. I seriously hope they come back around again soon, I swear I’ll never miss a show or any other Sonic event that comes near 🥺🫶🫶

Man, I'm 31 years old today. My mother was the one who bought me my first Genesis and Not For Resale copy of Sonic The Hedgehog when I was 4. My mother immigrated from Mexico with my dad to California and they worked for every penny they earned, and we didn't have a lot and we didn't earn a lot. We lived with my cousins and they would not let me play their gaming systems. My mother bought me an entire system and I loved it to pieces, I'd play it every day and thats where it started for me. It wasn't until I was older that I really realized what it meant to buy (for us) an expensive console with the money we didn't have to spare just so I could be happy. I thanked my mom again because that purchase took a lot to buy back in the day and I appreciate her so much for it.

My mom also bought my brothers and I a Sega Genesis back when Sonic 1 was new. It was one of the most amazing days of my life, because it was such a surprise purchase. And it introduced me to my favorite video game character of all time. I'm happy something very similar happened for you too!

Sonic unleashed is one of the most underrated sonic games of all time, it deserves more respect than hate.

I cannot begin to describe just what Sonic as a series means to me. This series has seen many ups and many (often embarrassing) downs, but I always take time out of my schedule to play a Sonic game.
The first video I ever personally owned was a gift from my brother: Sonic Adventure DX for the Nintendo Gamecube (I still have the original copy he gave me. Still works fine!). It was a surprise gift one day.
The trailer for Sonic Unleashed was the first time a video game trailer got me super hyped for a game (or at least, was the first video game trailer I ever paid attention to). The first game I ever pre-ordered (make of that as you will) was Sonic Frontiers.
Every time this series has its highs, it fills me with the same childlike joy I felt the day I got my copy of Adventure DX. And with the success of Frontiers (and the many highs that game had amidst some of the low fluff), I've never been more optimistic and happy for the future of Sonic.

Sonic unleashed was my first and most favorite game I first played I loved see it be sung once more
How did I not know about this until now? Even The Sonic Lore Master himself didn't speak of it (at least on UA-cam). Great none the less. :)
The fact that crush40 is still able to come together and kick ass on all these classic songs is just amazing. The vocals are still on point, and hearing the symphony mixed in with songs like live and learn sounds great.

Gotta love how they did "Knight of the Wind" and it looked like it was over and they said "Ya want one more? Ya want one more, huh? Here's City Escape!" and after that was done they're just like "Nah we're not done" and pulls Live and Learn out.
It was so good to hear Crush 40 again.
For me after they played City Escape I was wondering are we going to leave out Live and Learn? To my surprise they was saving it as their last song lol 😂.

Its just the hit after hit with good songs and it made me realize how consistently good they are with sonic songs

This was super awesome! The Game Gear games were actually officially acknowledged, Crush 40 performed nearly all of their songs, and the performances were amazing! Also, I find it so cool how Sega is actually supportive of fan work, and even used a mod during the Chao Garden intermission!

I love that Sega hasn't tried to completely disown the Sonic CD US soundtrack, but I was still very pleasantly surprised to hear Sonic Boom.

As somebody who grew up playing only sonic for the most part, I approve of this, I was also laughing at the little children not knowing the song and then saying the name of it when it appeared, the same thing happened with my kids, made me laugh really loud! Happy 30th anniversary sonic, thanks sega for making my childhood with this game, I know I’m late to the party due to my family and my son just starting 1st grade this year but still thank you for the memories with my friends and my brother, and thanks to everyone who worked on every single song from sonic. Can’t wait for the 35th
