The most infuriating part is that when the truth came to light NOT ONE SYLLABLE of apology was offered to her. Her entire career was derailed, she was labeled as a heretic and a loony, and to date not one of her critics has even said as much as "oops, my bad." Absolute bullshit.
The Milli Vanilli producer threw them under the bus after that. But nobody realized this but he was also the singer behind the Boney M group, and he hired a male model to lipsync to the songs on tv and in concert. That info came out after the Milli Vanilli incident.
Sinead O'Conner was a victim of Cartholic priest abuse.
Janet Jackson was looking at Justin Timberlake like she wanted to kill him after he pulled that.
Beyonce won later that night, and she stepped aside from doing the winning speech, and she called Taylor Swift onto the stage for her to do her proper speech. Even Beyonce was not too happy with Kanye that night.
I personally backed Sinead 💯. The Popes are evil especially this Jesuit up there. I honestly think the whole Beyonce/Taylor thing was a setup.
I totally remember watching Geraldo in the vault! The biggest ‘thrill’ was when he found some old beer bottle, held it up, and excitedly proclaimed, “I’m gonna keep this bottle forever!!”
I remember watching this with my Mom and my grandparents. We all laughed and laughed.
We watched it live and my mom kept saying "There won't be anything of value in there. Capone would have made sure his underlings got everything out years ago". I was SO mad they proved her right! LOL
I saw this too. I think there were a couple of other similar ones (the safe from the Titanic) that also came up empty. 😂
Ashley Simpson isn’t in the wrong for lip syncing. She’s in the wrong for leaving her band behind. Then later on she tried blaming them for playing the wrong song.

Had the fortune of meeting Geraldo at my college, and he admits how much of a failure that vault opening was and is able to laugh about it. Truly kind guy, too.
I read that he exposed a terrible sanatorium for children with issues that was horribly cruel and unsanitary. After he exposed the vicious cruelty, he also met a young boy there and made himself responsible for him, helping him get to a safe place and always keeping in touch. Truly kind.

Personally I feel that the vault opening wasn't a failure = People wanted to know what was in there, and he showed them. Mission accomplished. It wasn't his fault that people had too high of expectations. What is the point of asking questions if you're not willing to accept the answer?
The funny thing is before this he did one on a safe they found on the Titanic which was highly successful.

If the opposite of being cancelled could be called reinstatement, O'Connor has it coming. Her career was pretty damaged by her protest and the world was wrong and she was right. I wish more people remembered this so that everyone could give her the mea culpa that she deserves.

Yeah that was a glaring omission from this video. I guess they don't wanna fuck with the algorithm but I thought it merited a mention.
Especially when Frank Farian, who architected it with them and other groups, got away with throwing them under the bus.
The worst part is their manager and the producers lured them into the situation by promising them a chance for them to actually sing the songs live, and for them to sing on all future recordings - that's the only reason they agreed to it. They had decent voices, which would have benefited from a voice coach, and the "recording enhancement tricks" used in the studio, but they were persuaded to lip-synch in the meantime, in particular for the live show.

100% The Milli Vanilli debacle robbed 2 young men of any credibility and their careers and 1 young man of his life. They were exploited and paid a huge price for it. It is an absolute tragedy and blaming them for their downfall is repugnant.

When the milli vanilli scandal came out, they offered a refund for the album. I had it in cassette, but I didn't want to return the cassette (which was the condition of the refund)......I declined. I liked the songs....no matter who sang them!!
The songs were solid. They sometimes come up on various playlists I occasionally listen to and I still enjoy them.

What happened to Janet Jackson always made me angry and sad. It’s upsetting she got hated for what happened to her when it wasn’t even her fault. Justin Timberlake was the one who did that. Despite it being completely on him, he got away with it. Poor Janet.

The TOP layer was supposed to be ripped away showing the pretty layer underneath. The guy grabbed too much or ripped too hard. The whole thing came loose and showed too much and they blamed HER for it. But haters gonna hate, they are just jealous of her.

After this incident Consumer Advocate David Horowitz ramped up his criticism of realistic toy guns to the point where finally laws were passed banning the realistic toy guns altogether.
By law, All toy guns had to have an orange tip and a warning was put on all toy guns- including the non- realistic NERF guns- that pointing the gun in the direction of anyone is illegal and the person could be shot by accident by a policeman responding to the motion of the user.
These warnings are still in place, irregardless of how absurd the pop dart guns look.
I was thinking of OJ Simpson's Bronco chase being broadcast during the NBA Finals, or the "Heidi Game" where the game was shut off by NBC between the Oakland Raided and New York Jets, in favor of the TV movie "Heidi" would be on the list.

I was 10 when the Stollman incident happened but I still remember it. I remember because David Horowitz had a show called “Fight Back” at the time and I recognized him from that.

I don't know if there's any known surviving video of it but in 1955, while brushing off the front of her blouse between scenes on the sketch comedy "Caesar's Hour", Nanette Fabray had a 75 pound stage ballast fall from the ceiling and glance her head knocking her unconscious and giving her a concussion (as well as knock a 6-inch hole right through the stage floor). Her scream was heard on the live show and Sid Caesar had to ad lib the rest of the show while she was taken to the hospital. Miss Fabray would later return to the show to perform and worked steadily for several more decades before her 2018 death at age 97!

Yes, that happened in 1974 in Florida. There is a really good film called "Christine" starring Rebecca Hall about the incident.

I worked with a guy name Larry arnt(pretty sure I spelt his last name wrong) who played for Oakland and was in that game when the earthquake happened. Told me it was a very scary situation but everyone seemed ok. I had his baseball card and he signed it for me, I thought he was a really cool guy. A week later he robbed the store I was working at and got away with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. Guess I was wrong huh.

Back in the day of live TV. Jackie Gleason was playing a child on his show. He make a leap from a 2 foot platform. When hit the floor he crumpled to the floor. We watched as the man playing the butler walked over to him, then the screen went black. He broke at least one of his legs. He was in an wheelchair for months after that.
I love Jackie Gleason, I watched the Honeymooners since I was a child in the 80's. I never knew about that incident, what a horrible thing that happened to him?
