I love the stretch along Bradford Road past what used to be Hillhouse Post office (now Ali's barbers) and Wallace the grocers next door which is now a launderette. A few yards further along, also on the left used to be the Thornhill Arms pub, now a small supermarket. Further along on the right you passed the Railway Inn with what used to be The Regent cinema on the other side of Flint Street. The cinema later became a Ballroom, now the Shama Indian Restaurant. Another interesting journey back in time for me Alma. Keep them coming. 🙂
Amazing. Michael has the same memories, and in fact he was a dorman at The Regent, when he was young. He also used to frequent The Royal and The Harp, back in the 60s. !!! You know Huddersfield so well. How times have changed. Thank you so much for your kind message. Thank you again for watching my video and for your appreciation. Have a great and happy week. ❤❤❤
@@almafromengland8697 I used to know the area very well although many parts have changed beyond recognition with beautiful old buildings torn down and replaced with concrete boxes. It's interesting watching your drive through videos, I might recognise the roads and buildings for the first few minutes, then enter into an unrecognisable stretch of wide complicated modern roads and buildings, then back to the old familiar ones. When you post a new video I send the link to an old school friend in Tasmania where he's lived since 1976. He also enjoys watching them.
Your are perfectly right. It's quite a messy area there. Hopefully not for long. Thank you for watching my video. Thank you for your message. Have a positive week. 👍💐
It happens many times. UA-cam can be very cheeky. I'm happy you left a message on our page. We hope you and all your dear ones are OK. Thank you for watching my video. Have a great day ❤️❤️❤️
