    I have a 23 and hate the fact it came with summer tires, Really Subaru!! Hate the turn signals control , hate the cable shifter and has STi short throw ! So happy I kept my 16 STi , so much more of a drivers car ! I will say the new WRX is a better daily though. Thanks

    Agree: turn signal sucks. Why did they do that? Seat belt warning is the worst I've ever heard. I did the seat belt click trick for the front seat but it still comes on for the other seats. Cody at Street Inspired actually took his instrument panel apart to find the little speaker in there and removed it. I'm tempted to do this too.
    I like the seats in my '22 Premium. I have little posts to anchor the driver side floor mat on my car- very strange yours doesn't. Maybe they forgot to put them in? I'd ask the dealer about that. Look at other cars on the lot to see if they have them- I'll bet they do.
    Standard stereo sucks. I'm not a big car audio guy but even I thought it sounded bad. I replaced all the POS speakers with Kicker brand drop in replacements and its better but still not as good as the stock base stereo in my '15 Dodge Challenger R/T that I daily drive.
    I dislike the touchscreen. I'd rather have gauges, switches and buttons/knobs.

    Apart from the turn signal quibble, you aren't going to find a car with this performance at $30k US for the base model. Corner at 0.95 g (Car and Driver), 1/4 mile in the 13s w/o a tune, brake in 150 ish feet from 70? Sure people compare the Elantra, Corolla, Civic Type-R, Golf R, but try finding those for this price. The latter two, try finding one at all that isn't marked up a few thousand.
    For a COBB tuner, a E40 tune and an intake, you are at about $1400, and now you 1/4 (if you abuse it) in the high 12s. Add $400 for some EBC yellow pads and you have an awesome track day car that is still a daily driver that can keep up with a stock V8 Camaro, Mustang or Charger, and whip them in bad weather or on the curvy bits.

    I too have the same year and color. I am not finding as many things that bug me as you are, but then again we are obviously different people, that's what makes the world go round. I have no issue with the turn signal stalk, yeah I have on occasion flicked it too far and turned on the other direction, but not much, the vents I have zero issue with, they are fine. My car has the floor mat holder thingies, not any squeaks or rattles,,,,,,,yet, but i only have 10k miles. I agree with the excessive plastic in the rear, but the burnt tip axle backs, aftermarket rear spoiler, and rear window spoiler have helped, I also tinted the rear and side reflectors, and tinted the inner portion of the tail lights, and debadged the trunk. As far as the seat belt chime,,,,,cmon man, put your damn seat belt on!! It could save your life, and for the people that use the "reason" of just moving the car, that's lame as hell. But you do you man.

    The hood flex which can’t be fixed drives me crazy. But I’ve been down this road on this channel. The stock speakers sucked, but I solved that problem by replacing them with some Pioneer ones. I’m 29 and I traded my 2020 for a 23. The turn signal I understand why others don’t like it. Me personally I do. It’s intuitive and truly only took 20 ish mins to make sense. Not bad. I’ve had mine for over 2 weeks and put a white paint matched sti wing from noble. Since im moving I kept away from putting an exhaust since I’m driving 1000 miles. I also put 20mm hun centric spacers from my 2020 on and that made all the difference for the car especially with the wing. So far my biggest complaint was the steering but I’m starting to prefer this one more especially if you get new wheels that are either flush or poke. Feels much better. Cloth seats imo are the best. Coming from the 2020 the seating position was awful and the seats hurt. These feel so much better. But again this is coming from the model before so how I feel is more geared towards what I got used to on the 2020. I turn off the chime in every Subaru I own. As for the car in general. It’s been 100% better than the 2020 in every way. The 2.4 definitely feels insanely better. I didn’t expect to trade my 2020 in but after test driving the 23 I fell in love.

    Mine has the hooks for the mat on the driver side. I had an old legacy years ago and the turn signal was like that. Mine will turn off when i make the turn and has to be turned of if passing on the highway. There is another video with some who had the same rattle problem and was able to fix it. Subaru should install some floor mat hooks for you. I wonder if that was a mistake in the making of that car.

      BMWs have worked like this for near 20 years. It's how it should be, having it mechanically stick has a whole bunch of disadvantages. Unfortunately they didn't go the whole way, and make the wipers work the same (very annoying if you leave them in auto and forget), thankfully the headlights are not stateful (like old fashioned cars).

    Just speaking from a visual standpoint (since I haven't driven one at this point), while the looks of the outside have grown on me, and I think it looks better in person, I just can't get onboard with the interior. Like most Subarus these days, the interior is a messy mixture of colors and textures to my eyes, and is just not pleasing at all. The only one that seems to be cohesive is the BRZ, while all the other ones seem to be a hodgepodge of different things (at least on the lower trims) that I just don't find appealing at all.

      I have to agree with this. I mentioned to friends and family that I think there are too many different textures/materials in the interior without a coherent unifying theme. My 2018 had a lot of piano black, but at least it was consistent in how it was used.

      @@AlanAnt I don't think it's one particular thing. Subaru really effed this up. For me.... no matter how many times I'm at the dealership for a service on my other cars; I try to like it. I really do. But I can't get by the exterior looks of this thing. It is just.... wrong!! Maybe Subaru will correct the future models and paint the cladding; fix the diaper; I don't know. For now; I'll stay with what I have.

    • @AlanAnt
      @AlanAnt Рік тому +1

      @@Vecc-tq3fb I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. When I bought my first Subaru, a 2003 WRX, the press was praising its innovations and performance for the price; but complaining about the ugly bug eyed front design. I loved it. It looked like a classic rally car and the round design was carried back to the dash vents. Looking out over the hood with the hood scoop flanked by the rounded fender cowls seemed nostalgic. I received quite a bit of attention for this unusual car, mostly positive. But bowing to the pressure, Subaru changed it to the much uglier (in my opinion) blob eye. Just as the bugeye designed seemed to echo the 1960s to me, the new VB seems to echo some designs from 1940s cars (from the front view). One could argue that is a step backwards, but I find it quirky and intriguing. The big flaw for me is that crease along the side of car that makes an inexplicable upturn at the front of the front door. At certain angles, it looks like the car is dented. I think they should have kept that line straight. How that rear bumper passed into production is a mystery to us all.

    Thanks for the video. Same issues. It took awhile to get used to the centering turn signal stalk but I like it, now. I agree about the vents. There is not a lot of range to move them. Strangely, I do have the hooks to hold the mat. As for the seats, I have the GT with the Ricaro seats. They are really good at holding me in place, but they are not nearly as comfortable as the Ricaro seats I had in my 2018 STI (which were perfect for me). There is no lumbar adjustment on the Ricaros. I don’t notice the seatbelt chime because I always buckle up before starting the car; even just to move it from the driveway into the garage. I always liked the look of the car, but then my first one was the bugeye and the press complained about it, but I loved it with the big dinner plate sized fog lights. It looked like a rally car. If I have a complaint about the looks it’s that it doesn’t stand out. My kid can’t find it in a parking lot, other Subie drivers miss it and don’t wave, and it lacks the attention that my STI received at meets and on drives. I had the 50th Anniversary Edition, so it was unique among STIs. My GT is MGM, like yours. Its monochromatic. Cool, but stealthy.

    Great video! I have a grey 22 WRX as well and you nailed all the things that i dislike about mine too. I have a weird squeaking noise that comes from my drivers side seatbelt, super annoying. Most of my other gripes are just due to the base model i have. The base comes with horrendously cheap seat fabric, I'll be surprised if it lasts 5 years. The stereo is so awful that my old 2004 base Ford focus was worlds better.
