Yeah base 2023 wrx owner with 12000 miles I don’t have any of these issues I would recommend making sure ur car is unlocked before opening the gas cap and I would refrain from topping of ur tank as it could be cause the issue with not being able to fill it all the way. every time I fill up my tank I stop on the first click then remove the nozzle.
Hey CJ, have you heard about the strut issues some people were having ? Something about leaking struts very early in the cars life. I know you’re well past warranty with zero issues so that’s good to hear , but just asking :)

@phoebeeileenbrooks110 I'm loving it!!! About 3000 miles in so far. We just had a big snow storm so I've been enjoying the snowy roads. Car handles like a dream, suspension is sporty and stiff, car sounds pretty nice without being too loud, interior is Decently spacious. The steering is a little light especially on high speeds, but no other complaints. No infotainment issues at all so far, and currently it's about -15° Celsius outside so doesn't seem to be affected by the cold on the dual screen. Hope this helps, and you definitely won't regret it if you go for it!
Just picked up a 2023 6-speed premium in silver (manufactured Oct 2023) and I haven't run into any of these issues. I'd bet money the gas door thing is user error. Nozzles clicking off before fill-up is due to vapor displacement. If I understand 3:29 correctly, the car is telling the pump to stop? This is not and cannot be the case. It's simply the overfill prevention device inside the nozzle getting activated by higher pressure vapors being forced out of the filler neck during fueling. The vapors trick the pump into thinking liquid fuel has come into it and it stops, as designed. This is especially true during warmer months and at stations with those accordion-style nozzle boots that trap vapors in the filler neck. A remedy for this is to set the nozzle trigger to the lowest automatic setting and try not to get gas when it's the hottest part of the day. So far, the infotainment issue hasn't affected me but time will tell when summer arrives. I don't have an intake but I would bet those who do, are getting MAF sensor codes if they don't tune the car for the new intake. If you know what engine codes are throwing these lights on, I would be interested to know. There's never been a perfect car nor will there ever be. Some people are branding the VBs as crap when the issues are manageable and virtually all covered by the warranty (unless you pry your gas door off lol).
Do they know the fuel door locks when the car is locked? Maybe it's common knowledge but I was confused for a minute or two one day when it wouldn't open. Unlock car and door unlocks. Or maybe there's an issue where the mechanism doesn't release with the door unlock.
I have a 2022 WRX VB Limited Manual with about 6000 miles on it, I’ve installed a catback exhaust (MBRP with resonator and no mufflers) and a Perrin Cold Air intake with no check engine lights and noticeable performance improvements. I also haven’t had any issues with the infotainment or fuel door. I guess I’m just lucky (so far). The car has been great, I know it’s early but I haven’t really had any issues to date 9:10 . I had both a 2022 Honda Civic Si and a 2022 Toyota GR86 before and I’m much happier with my WRX. I’m planning to do a Perrin top mounted inter cooler in the near future and I was thinking about getting the Cobb V3 Accessport but I’m concerned about warranty issues so I may wait on the tuner for a while. My WRX was manufactured in late 2022 so maybe they had addressed some of the issues before mine left the factory.
@@AutoEnthusiast I spoke to my dealership before I did the intake or exhaust and they confirmed there would be no problems with the warranty based on those two mods.
@@michaelpratt5160if your running a intake on this car without a tune I’m willing to bet a paycheck your running lean or throwing some sort of knock. But hey you do you… just don’t trash the car cause you didn’t wanna tune it when the engine dets at cruising speed.
I have a 20223 WRX base. Have it for 16months 5k miles. First day I did a muffler delete and window tint. I've had a Perrin cold air intake for 6 months with no time. No issues. Now it's Cobb stage one time and it's been a month. Still no issues. The only issue I have, and I've had this since the day I bought the car. From day one. My streets are a little bumpy. Not necessarily potholes but very bumpy, and the throttle is very sensitive. So if I'm in first gear taking off, and as I go into the intersection hit a couple of bumps, your foot taps on the gas because of the natural bouncing. And the car just wants to lurch forward. It's really annoying. I thought the tune would fix that, it didn't. I just have to live with it, or try to shift out of first almost immediately to stop it from happening. I don't know if anybody else has that issue.
I changed my 2023s oil at 1k miles and it was sparkle city. I followed the break in instructions religiously. Hopefully this is nothing out of the ordinary and nothing comes of it.
For the tank filling where its cutting it off, it only happens to me at certain gas stations, i think it just depends on the gas station and their pumps and flow rates.
My base 22 wrx info screen cuts out and disconnects from airplay. It will reconnect on its own and go back to normal in about a minute. No restart required.
The Rtv isn't really the problem it's an oil pressure drop on hard right turns. After the suspension is modified for better handling but also produces more G's in the turns. Causing the oil to slosh away from the oil pickup on hard right turns specifically.
When I fill up gas in my wrx when the auto fill up stops the gage is at full but typically you can put another 2 gallons in. It’s not really the cars fault this happens because the gas foams up kinda like a soda or a beer and you need to wait a bit for the gas to foam down.
can confirm, that should not be happening at all. Gasoline should remain relatively solid state during any type of cavitation, and if it doesn't just for engineering purposes, you could lean out and dry spray a cylinder during a combustion cycle at high rpm.
I have experienced fruits and robot plays in many infotainment systems, fl5 type r, m2 g87, porches macan.... I think it is the phone system itself, not really related to the manufacture systems. The gas tank prematurely stop filling also happened to my m2 g87. They are common issues.
As for the screen blacking out, I had this issue twice, where my screen blacked out. Took my car to the dealership, and let them know. They let me know that there was a software update. After they completed the update, I haven't had the issue occur anymore
I bought a base wrx on march 2022, and since I remember suspension was always too hard and a little bit noisy, like some parts where hitting themselves feeling also like something wasn’t fixed on its place. To this day my dealer hasn’t found the problem and had to change both suspension kits, does anyone have the same issue?
My clutch started slipping at 6-7k miles, I thought someone put shitty gas in it. At 17k miles the dealer told me my clutch is slipping and that will be $3500 for a new clutch since it is a “wear and tear “ .. I’m crazy pissed. I’ve reached out to SoA and I’m going to another dealer tomorrow who seems to be more on my side than the dealer I bought it from. It drives exactly the same as the day I bought it as in the clutch has always been kind of stiff. I just thought that’s how it was supposed to drive compared to the previous standard transmission I owned.
Had the blackout screen problem a couple times when i first bought the car almost a year ago but hasn’t happened since. Been probably 10 months since. Base model.
Mine had the cranking issue. It would have random times the starter would turn over the engine but it just wouldn’t start. Dealer did an ECM uodate and it seems to have fixed it
I have 2022 base model and have had screen problems where I have to shut it off for a couple minutes and it was ok after that .. And had the car almost stall on me. And all lights in dash came up where I had to unhook battery cable for 5 minutes and never done it since
I was thinking about getting a wrx… seems there is too many issues and not worth the headache. Had a bad experience with my 2008 Evo x, back in the day… not sure I want to deal with stealership service again.
I had a Ralliart around the same time you had your Evo. Now I have the WRX Premium and it reminds me of my Ralliart. Fun to drive, but a bit temperamental and you need to stay on top of the maintenance.
Its not just subaru that wont work on some modded cars. Chevy wouldnt do a tire rotation because i had wheel spacers on. So i put 0 offset wheels on and i told them not to touch my wheels lol.
My base 22' rex has the radio issue. Screen goes black randomly and have to shut off the car. Has happened multiple times, rare but very annoying. It's actually a safety issue I was told bc heat can't function properly now
I have a base model and my infotainment system will freeze a lot especially the first few minutes after starting the car. Sometimes also have to stop and restart car to fix.
I had the same issue happen to me twice in my 2022 WRX, 3rd gear lockout. I took it to the dealer and they said they did not see any issues and could not duplicate the problem. It has not happened since though. The only thing that I can think of that may have caused or contributed to the issue was starting to accelerate the car from 2nd gear on a down slope while the car is slowly already moving. It seemed to happen shortly after I did that a few times. I never had a problem doing this with several other stickshifts I've owned (I had a Mazda 6, Nissan Altima & Subuaru Impreza RS, all manuals). Maybe this new WRX doesn't like it. I'm always sure to start from 1st gear even if am already rolling slightly on a down slope.... haven't had the problem since
My gas door got locked shut I've had the car for 3 weeks now...I gave it a firm pat wich allowed it to pop open then I pushed the little pin in and it didn't pop back out......I don't know if I'm okay with this or not because I imagin it serves to keep the gas door closed at "high"way speeds....then again I do got that 6 year bumper to bumper warranty
So far, I am absolutely delighted with this car. It would be slightly more fun if it had multi piston front calipers, and it had just a wee bit more power. Other than that, it is a joy to drive and I am getting ridiculously good mileage on the highway if I don’t stomp it. Having said all that my one beef is that I have been getting jolted by the seatbelt alarm after being in the car - usually for a good 20 minutes to a half an hour. On one recent long trip it went on for about 20 seconds before it stopped. Has anybody had this issue?
@@overthebars5172 Between 31 and 32. I checked it by traditional methods and compared it to the trip computer. The trip computer exaggerates the mileage by approximately .7 or so mpg.
@Kjodienda that's pretty good 👍 . What is the acceleration like from 100km/hr in 6th gear..do you have to downshift to 5th ...or is there enough torque to do a roll on pass?
I spent most of my life in this car between 65 and 80 miles an hour. At 65 miles an hour you’re at about 2500 RPM. That’s already at the beginning of the torque range. That said, when I’m going to pass someone at 65 to 70 miles an hour, I don’t bother downshifting unless there is a lot of traffic barreling down on me. If I’m getting on the interstate from an entrance ramp, I really enjoy ringing out third gear. Third gear is a wonderful gear on this car.
I got a 23 premium on April and yup only issue until now is the screen the apple play disconnects and i have to pair the phone again and reset the car system in order to connect it again😐😐😐
I do have that problem with the apple car play and being locked out to the point of restarting the car and it is still locked out .... but eventually will restart when It feels like it .... has happened a fue times... 22 base model wrx
My engine light come on today with flashing cruise control, traction control off and hill assist off .... the car just had oil change 300km ago and only has 33.000 km on car
well WRX has been in on roads for over a decade, I don't think that any of the highlighted issues is acceptable!! If what you stated is common, I guess its better to avoid buying them till they rectify all the stated issues, I have also see a vid on YT where an engine went bad!! thought the new engine is way better than the previous ones!
i’ve got a 22 wrx with 10,156 miles my cars at the dealer right now getting a new left front cv after it blew apart my windshield cowel is falling out and the ac compressor makes a weird noise sounds like frogs
I leave in Canada and my wrx sportech 2022 my problem start at 8 month show p0021 is about camshaft now is 1 year I used . Bring to de dealer 3 times and still f**** I feel sad cause tink nothing coming to be Japanese. Still waiting for end solution.
You shouldn't modify any Subaru or boom you want easy 400whp? Buy a bone stock LT1 Camaro $35k will run 11's with 10 speed off the showroom. Go full bolt ons, cam, e85 can make 600whp run 10 flat easy With rebates/discounts will be cheaper then a WRX
For me its the android auto , it keeps connecting and disconnect , wich can be really annoying . Im at the point now of just listening to the radio and getting the gps on my phone instead of getting it on the big "useless" screen
Make sure you are using a good cable. I had a lot of cables that did not have a large enough transfer speed and it was giving me a lot of those issues. Also might be a good idea to spray some contact cleaner into your phones port when it is off.
This sounds stupid but I had the same problem. Changed cord and everything but never happened with my home charger. Come to find out there was some lint in the charging port. It fixed it
I have an issue where Android Auto disconnects and I can't tell if it's just because the cable sits right on the edge of where I stick my phone or if it's just buggy software.
Bullshit. At 398whp and 415tq mine slips zero amount for over a year now and I hammer it regularly. Not to mention there is a a lot of 400whp tunes out there with no issues on stock clutch.
Bluetooth is horrible. No issues with the black out . Rear speakers sound like crap. Disappointed with the power and low boost pressure . My prior car was an 18 focus st factory 15 lbs boost mild Cobb ots raised it to 22.8 lbs
cars detuned for the companies insurance. 6k rev limit is pathetic... stock dsnt even hold enough oil pressure for normal use. thats why ppl are making 400hp from a intake, exhaust, and tune...
On my 2023 with 3000km on it I went to open trunk last week and it was seized solid and I had to crawl in from back seat and really pull on the child safety release to break it free. About a month ago I parked the car and got out and went to lock it but it wouldn't lock as it said on dash "Engine is running" had to get in and start and turn off car again. Last week my high beam assist shut off while driving for maybe 3 minutes then came back randomly, flashing a message to read owners manual. One morning it cold cranked for 10sec straight. All of these have only happened once but its only been 3000km so what does that say long term?

I'm always sure to start from 1st gear even if am already rolling slightly on a down slope.... haven't had the problem since
I haven't had any issues shifting gears. Is this for an automatic or manual? I have a 23 Manual.
What has been your highest highway mpg so far?
Don’t mislead people. Those high torque builds will have transmission problems soon. it’s the same one as in the VA WRX.
It's a 2022 wrx subaru I got a car for 6 months and needs a computer system replaced this is common issues
Gott 2022wrx my infotainment screen just went out this morning limited edition
eesh!
What's the intake that doesn't require a tune? Perrin?
Honestly, I would lean towards none of them
My 2024 works awesome
i’ve got a 22 wrx with 10,156 miles my cars at the dealer right now getting a new left front cv after it blew apart my windshield cowel is falling out and the ac compressor makes a weird noise sounds like frogs
Woah! That's crazy!
did it shake the car or make you lose power during driving?
The 600whp wrx has a sti transmission actually. And the infotainment for subaru cars are crap in general
Android Auto crashes if cell service cuts out or under heavy power lines.
Can confirm - happened in my 2020 Crosstrek and also in my 2023 WRX. Especially true if you use a wireless adapter like I do.
It's starlink. Use the key fab to lock and unlock the car. It will not happen. Why Subaru can not fix it.
I leave in Canada and my wrx sportech 2022 my problem start at 8 month show p0021 is about camshaft now is 1 year I used . Bring to de dealer 3 times and still f**** I feel sad cause tink nothing coming to be Japanese. Still waiting for end solution.
Update?
best bang for buck car; thing can hold over 400whp stock engine easily with minimal mods!
You shouldn't modify any Subaru or boom you want easy 400whp? Buy a bone stock LT1 Camaro $35k will run 11's with 10 speed off the showroom. Go full bolt ons, cam, e85 can make 600whp run 10 flat easy
With rebates/discounts will be cheaper then a WRX
Camero sucks. Subi is an AWD, and you can take it anywhere. Sure if you want to go in a straight line from A ro B , buy one. Thank you and good night.
@illyack5593 lol I live in the south AWD is worthless don't get so hurt 🙃
Couldn’t agree more, easily the best bang for buck ride that makes 400whp on the market now!
@illyack5593 you even spelled Camaro wrong lol. Be honest you've never driven one so have no idea regardless
Is the minus one intake the mishimoto intake 😅? Asking for friend
Nope lol
For me its the android auto , it keeps connecting and disconnect , wich can be really annoying . Im at the point now of just listening to the radio and getting the gps on my phone instead of getting it on the big "useless" screen
For me it’s Apple CarPlay when I have my phone plugged in. It’ll crash and take a minute or 2 to load back up to the song that was playing
Modders beware, that 6speed wont hold up, already seeing them go out
Bullshit. At 398whp and 415tq mine slips zero amount for over a year now and I hammer it regularly. Not to mention there is a a lot of 400whp tunes out there with no issues on stock clutch.
0-20 will fuck up timing chains
Won't deter me ❤
Bluetooth is horrible.
You def got a lemon lol
Woah that's crazy!
Unlock the doors and the gas door will open.
Getting a red vehicle is a very common problem
Bro car mad stock 😂
What car do you own ?
My clutch started slipping at 6-7k miles, I thought someone put shitty gas in it. At 17k miles the dealer told me my clutch is slipping and that will be $3500 for a new clutch since it is a “wear and tear “ .. I’m crazy pissed. I’ve reached out to SoA and I’m going to another dealer tomorrow who seems to be more on my side than the dealer I bought it from. It drives exactly the same as the day I bought it as in the clutch has always been kind of stiff. I just thought that’s how it was supposed to drive compared to the previous standard transmission I’ve owned.
