This comes after US officials criticised the Saudi government's decision to cut oil production by two million barrels a day.

Correction, I don't think it's right to not do business with people based on identity-factors alone, but where those people tend to cut supply based on "matters which they care about and are connected to their identity-factors", I think it’s wise to consider alternative sources for your energy needs. Because the oil that these states are exporting is a critical component of your sustaining the national economy, I think their tendency to cut supply in that way could be considered a threat to your economy, and maybe even national security. It could be that *part of* the reason they historically cut supply in that way is due to states such as the US supporting one cause over another in the "identity-charged" Israel/ Palestine conflict, not that it's totally biased but maybe if that support was a bit more fair & even that wouldn't occur. But ultimately, my view is that you cannot allow foreign entities, which are *themselves* quite biased in their approach to such issues, to influence much less dictate your approach to matters such as that by *using* those exports as leverage against you. Just to clarify, I don’t think it warrants any form of military action & I don’t think that’s what President Biden meant by consequences, but if you want energy stability I think you need to find alternatives. Also, I find it quite hypocritical that this person is talking about “jihad” when there have never been any serious threats facing *this* particular Islamic Land, whilst the extremists in their society have been central to exporting jihad all around the World.
