maybe cause their government is causing a genocide in yemen? maybe income inequality maybe cause they kill journalist, maybe cause they attacked the US on 9/11. maybe because they say nothing while Israel commits a genocide on palestinians.

Reform in Saudi Arabia is akin turning an oil tanker, it starts slow, but once it starts there is no going back. MBS knows this, he knows things can't carry on as they were, and he has the foresight to see what direction his country has to take to have a better tomorrow for the Saudi people, but change can be painful.

For instance, I could instantly pick up faras (horse) farasi in Swahili, taifa (nation), also taifa in Swahili and fadhal (please) tafadhali in Swahili. Those Arabian horses are stunning!

You're right lots of Arabic words are found in Swahili like Tabibu (in Arabic: Tabeeb) and Dafeeina (from Dafn which is burial; in Arabic the word Kanz is used instead as it means treasure). Btw Tafadhali in Arabic means Come in/You're welcome (feminine) both come from the same root Fadhl (kindness/ favour).

    1. Prince Saud bin Nayef was never considered Crown Prince. His brother was.
    2. That poor bookstore didn't know what the reporter was saying. That was barely Arabic. He literally said; "News, Reporter?", in a terrible accent. The seller just told him: "There's lots of reporters in there, read and see, I don't read the papers".
That reporter has the nerve to assume that he is avoiding the question or something. He didn't even understand your two word enquiry.

Although an informative documentary, I think the producers should allow the viewers the autonomy to form their own opinions rather than the presenters views which are pre-determined from the start, ill judged, poor, and filled with so much negativity. Having visited Saudi Arabia on many occassions, i found the people and the country to be beautiful and welcoming. Saudi Arabia is a country steeped in rich history and culture. I pray that Allah protects the country especially the holy sanctuaries and city of Makkah al Mukkarama and and Madinah al Munawarra and i pray that Saudi Arabia has a bright and successful future with stability.

When I was a kid, I didn’t give it much thought because you don’t know any better if that’s what you’ve had from day 1, but the older you get the more you realize how bad and inhuman the laws are. I got my first job in Khubar in 2007 and that was an eye opener.. they took my passport away and gave me an ID (iqama) as if I’d just moved to the country. And there’s no way you can leave the country if they don’t grant you a re-entry visa. My friends had it worse, their kafeels “sponsors” were independent individuals who used to exploit them financially just like the old days (but hey, we no longer use the word “slavery”, okay?) The religious police were like the angels of death and they used to pop out of nowhere wherever you go (if you’re not with a family, you’re a potential sex offender and should be treated as such even if all you’re doing is having a meal..) I understand most of the foreigners in Saudi are desperate people from poor, less fortunate countries, but I really think their kids deserve better. Saudi is not for foreigners, deal with it.

“Oppression manipulates facts in people’s minds, leading people to believe that whoever seeks truth is sinful, that whoever abandons his rights is obedient, that the one who cries out [against oppression] is mischievous, that the perceptive and intelligent are godless, and that the useless one is upright. It transforms genuine advice into intrusiveness, caring for others into enmity, magnanimity into transgression, enthusiasm/zeal into foolishness, mercy into illness, just as it considers hypocrisy to be a policy, manipulation to be civility, and pettiness/villainy to be kindness.”

The host’s comments on Muhammad Abd-Al-Wahhab were both loaded and incorrect. There are many contradictory statements, books, and think pieces on him and what he stood for but the vast majority of said works come directly from his haters. He was a reformer and Imam that returned the people to traditional Islam and advised them against religious deviations and misguidance. If the host actually read his books, he’d know better. One can easily see that the host looks at Islam and most tradition with disgust and his words and perspective should be taken with less than a grain of salt.

Unfortunately, too many reporters choose to go to the worst parts of Riyadh to "show" what Saudi is. The reality is 100% of those living in this old areas are not Saudis. They are migrant workers from India, Pakistan, etc. who fill up these old neighbourhoods for the cheap rent. Literally drive a few kilometers in any direction and you will see a metropolis of modern architecture and technology. It's a real shame that so many people in these comments are convinced that this is Saudi.

It's interesting to see the comments from people depending on where they live, how they live, their own experiences , what they have been taught and their exposure to other people in other countries and cultures.
As an American, I find my country to be very insular, maybe because we aren't close to countries other than Canada and Mexico. I will have to say that there are things in some other cultures that I can't respect and will never accept.
As for the Saudi government taking care of it's citizens? I think that's the way things should be, but in my country, ,people spend millions to convince people to vote against their own self interest.
I was sitting in bed, having my coffee, watching the news before getting ready for work, and saw the first tower burning and then out of the corner of my eye I saw a plane. It didn't really register with me, I was watching the other tower and then BAM!!!!! Horrible. I realize it made many people very happy.
People and countries have many sides, they are never just one thing, but the bottom line is, for me. where ever I have traveled I find kind, wonderful and lovely people. I never would want to cross MBS, I will tell you that. He's smart, he knows the demographic of his country, and he knows what is needed to move forward and the only way they can survive is to move forward, the oil is not infinite.

IF he is elected again, God forbid, he will continue what he started, stifling journalists (wow where has THAT ever happened in the world?), weaponizing the Department Of Justice against his enemies, and further packing the Supreme Court with his cronies and also the Federal Justice courts. We are on a slippery slope here. You can see where we head by the people Trump admires and wants to emulate.
Look at what's happening in Poland and Hungary. They spilled blood for their freedom and now they are ready to give it away. I think that after a time, the fighting and sacrifice and the way things were under a totalitarian government fade away (look at the number of holocaust deniers) and people become complacent and they really don't realize what they are giving up.

He didn't give any importance in his documentary to the huge positive changes led by the government in a '''before - after'' mode but instead kept reinforcing old false stereotypes that would attract more youtube views and clicks. If he really believes that Criticizing the House of Saud is dangerous, then he wouldn't be doing it himself, unless he thinks he has some Protection somewhere, but that protection could only come from the Saudi Royal Family. Also, what I heard was that the Journalist involved had been an actual friend of Crown Prince MBS in their younger days, and in Saudi Arabia he was very supportive of MBS and his Projects, but once he had a Foreign Journalist Post in Washington DC, his new career seemed to be pivoting around moving an Arab Spring Style Revolution to Saudi Arabia. Was he working with the CIA? This was PERSONAL as much as it was Political. The President of the USA had recognized before the World the Ascendency and Legitimacy of the Power granted by the House of Saud to Crown Prince MBS, and that Journalist was jeopardizing it all by implying that MBS was somehow footdragging on all of the Reforms he had promised, but, Politics are Politics everywhere, and the Left must be balanced against the Right, and social change should be measured and controlled because nobody would want Saudi Arabia to jump track and go off the rails, right? But the Journalist wished to gain popularity in the USA by fanning the flames of all the Hatred in America for Saudi Arabia that arose after the Twin Towers Terror Attack, where the Air Bourne Element was almost entirely of Saudi Arabians, the leader from the leading family of Bin Ladens. A true friend of Saudi Arabia, and a good Citizen, and an Old Friend of the Crowned Prince, would have been more concerned with Damage Control and winning American Hearts and Minds. Instead he committed treason against the monarchy, the Royal House that had Educated him and even had employed him. He had presented himself as a Loyal Servant and Friend of the House of Saud, and looks what he does to pander to the Americans, who would have to admit that they sometimes play rough themselves, with their Crime Families and CIA Assassins. Yeah, the creator narrator of this Video is only trying to make a name for himself by thumbing his nose at the House of Saud, while he believes it popular. But the Royal Family need not react, but every Friend of the Royal Family in Arabia should know how to receive, or not receive this Troublemaker into their Bars or Restaurants, Shops, or Saloons. Treat him like a flea infested dog, and chase him away with brooms. Thumbs Down! Oh! at the end he does his best to get that old Editor in Chief in trouble too. This is what is wrong with Journalists, they simply want to maximize the Troubles that each Society is going through. then why are they surprised that after looking so hard for trouble, that they should actually find It.
