You guys lame, not even frusciante plays this song identical all the time, playing it's all about the feeling... Trying to figure out the "perfect" note timing and placement, takes all the freedom out of the instrument

I feel you on this too cuz I’ve seen so many people play covers like literally 100% accurate with the right feel and note touching and still even if there are like 3K likes, there are like 85 dislikes. Great job man. Spot on. This was the first song I learned on electric and it never gets old. It's crazy. I've never come across a song that I don't get sick of like this. I have listened to it countless times trying to transcribe different parts from different performances. Speaking of, if anyone has transcribed John's infamous performance of it on SNL in '92 please hit me up. Specifically, the first chorus section; he throws some really great licks in there and I have only been able to work out a few, and even those sound a bit off.
