Just ignore the trolls. Enjoy life while it last, life is short! You eat like a normal person. It is nice to see you cook and enjoy your food. It's one of the fun cozy parts of camping, cooking and eating outdoors. Great videos, thanks for sharing them!
Hubby and I have really enjoyed this camp Dan, and we so envy you on the food you eat because our health went t**ts up after years of eating what we wanted. All kinds of health issues. In 6 months, we reversed them all by making healthy choices. Some ppl can eat anything and never have problems, so until such times a doctor tells you things aren't good, you enjoy what you like. We're in our early 70s, fit and healthy again, and enjoying hiking and camping. I was never able to like until I lost many stones in weight in recent yrs, to reverse all the nasties.

@English Woodsman Thank you Dan, its brilliant now, thanks. We had that virus that you had, and boy its kept us inactive for a month. We've now done two short hikes with another tomorrow. 😊 Soon back in to the big ones.

I always check the you tube reviews before I buy, it’s so much easier to see if the item is any good and if it’s what I am looking for. This video has made me feel more confident about camping in the cold too.

Nice trip mate. A word to the wise, if vac-bagging liquids, put them in the bag, put the bag in the freezer and vac when frozen. No leakage and you can either throw them back into the freezer or leave them out if using soon. I have done it that way with beef stew before and you just end up with a boil in the bag meal you can reheat as you wish. You talk about food, yesterday I found a channel called Beard meets food, time to lift your game son!! Eat what you like and if people don't like watching you, they can skip forward. Keep up the good work mate, all the best from down in Oz where it's going to be 32C today!

Nice cozy camp out with the right gear! I used a balaclava when I once hammock camped in Jan in Scotland and it kept my neck and head so warm. Makes all the difference when temperatures dip!

A young man once told me how to keep warm in a house without heat or while camping in winter. Said he learned it from hobos. When getting ready to sleep use layers. Wear your clothes to bed, use a sleeping bag, then a layer of newspapers, them a blanket or a coat and other clothing on top of the newspaper. A layer of newspapers under the sleeping bag to protect you from the cold ground. I was camped by in the winter when I tried it and it kept me toasty warm. It really helped that I had my rabbit fur coat with me. I put that on top of the newspapers on my sleeping bag. Fur has excellent insulation and I love it. I know people are against wearing fur but it's warmer than a lot of coats or jackets. And since rabbits are eaten, why waste their fur? That would be a crime. I did try the newspaper trick after my rabbit coat got to old to use. I had to live a year without electricity or water and that winter I had no heat. On my bed I put the usual sheet and blanket and then a layer of newspapers then another blanket. I got almost too hot in bed. Yeah, newspapers work as insulation.

Watching you squeezing the sauce reminded me of my late father about 30 years ago, sitting in the pub fighting with a sachet of salad cream as he tried to open it. All of a sudden it exploded and there was salad cream on the ceiling, wall, his bald head, in his beard and all over his clothes. The whole pub went silent for a few seconds before we all fell about laughing. I think that was the first time my daughter heard her grandad swear. 😅🤣😂😄

I can remember in December I was at Manchester Airport, I was waiting for the shuttle bus to take me from the car park to the terminal, it was -8. It was the longest 10 minute wait of my life.

Stumbled onto your video and enjoyed it. Vaccum packed is ingenious! Never thought of that before. Not sure why, it’s so simple! Living in the Canadian prairies this would be great to keep bears and critters away as it’ll also hold in the smells. I’ll have to try this. Great video!

Great video and tasty looking scran! I opt for the thinner insulating mat with a sheet of kitchen foil big enough for my torso, I pit that under the insulating mat, shiny side facing down to reflect the cold away. I also have a cheap Chinese version of the Zippo handwarmer, which I use as a little hot water bottle, it keeps me proper warm, a good wooly hat is always a must too and gloves. I carry a 1 litre bottle especially for those calls of nature, saves getting out of the warmth and shivering like mad, this only makes us need to go again much quicker.

Hey Dan. Nice "cold" camp. I use my Firebox for campfire and cooking. The new freestyle Firebox stove can be set up with two of them to be a regular campfire pit type use as well as a small stove and double stove etc. So Steve, who engineered these stoves uses them that way all the time in his videos. Especially if there is a "fire ban" over here and you can't have an open campfire these qualify in most cases as a firepit and are legal to use because the fire is 'contained' I love my Nano, G2, and now the Freestyle Firebox stoves. They can be used to burn wood, set up as a stand with the Trangia gas stove, an alcohol stove- Trangia, Toaks, Lixada, style, and even my homemade alcohol stove, plus wood pellets, etc. Very versatile and why I love it. Just grab and go.

Watching this episode on my television now...I hope you remembered to take along a second pair of socks and it is good to see you are wearing a touque. It is important to keep comfortable when you are outside. I think you will be much more comfortable than what you were in the previous video. Better set up this time. I think you will have a warm sleep. It is all about being comfortable & warm. Makes for a happy camper. Wow and real food this time too...burgers are good. And saussages too..now you are talking. And a new frying pan!!! I like the frying pan. Definitely a good camping experience.Those wee stoves are brilliant.
I’ve had my pan the same as that for 3 years now. It’s great. Little tip, unscrew the wooden part of the handle and season it in the over at home. Coat it in veg oil (not olive oil) and leave in a hot oven until fully blackened. Will be non stock then. It’s a stabilotherm pan. Keep it lightly oiled after every camp and it will last years.
I was out this weekend and it was -6. Was very cold but had a warm nights sleep

Totally agree with the Oex Bobcat fab tent, kept me warm and dry in 40/50 mph winds and torrential rain. I had to be told about this the following day as I didn’t notice as I slept right through it 😂

look for reviews on UA-cam, but a lot of stuff won't show up if it is not tagged or has the keyword in the title. I also watch vids like yours to see what new gear is out there, and also the features of new gear coming out. If I know what features are out there I can better choose what I want.
Make memories Dan, eat what you like how you like when you're old and can't get out anymore, you will be the one smiling reambering the time you spent in a tent. My Mrs and I have a adventure book we take with us on our motorcycle trips to write in do when wer old we will have that. Vegan Dan keeps a tidy tent.
I do a lot of fishing and stay out all night (bit like camping) i have used many different types of stoves, but my current one the coleman firestorm, is by far the best.Enjoyed your vlog.

I freeze my burgers and sausages on a sheet pan for we 24 hrs. Then I vacuum seal them. I then can cut open the bag, take what I want and reseal it.
That was a fair old dinner. 😁😁 You need plenty of food to keep warm this weather. 👍👍
