Butler is one of those guitarists that influences me, inspite of the fact i only have the first two Suede albums. He has this carefully crafted style where he writes counter melodies to what the bass and vocals are doing that just fits, when it shouldn't!
Never heard this before - and once again Mr. McAlmont blows me away...and much as i love BB......David coud do this acapella and it would still blow your socks off....this man amazes me....daily. I love him....
Gorgeous. Of course, the song was shortened for commercial reasons, but the full-length version on the their 1997 album was perfect. Never mind. I've got the CD for that!
OMFG! WTF is this!? What a lovely voice. And I LOVE Bernard Butler (Suede is my # 1 band - how I "stumbled upon" this). Just lovely. Thanx 'n' stuff. !PEACE!
Thank the lord these 2 met !!!...(and i'm someone who LOVES HEAVY METAL but every now and again i must have a softer side)...Who's to say that Ozzy Osborne or Bruce Dickenson from Iron Maiden haven't listened to these guys and have bought their album ??
omg its so sad that there is bad music that ppl like and i like good music but not a lot of ppl listen to the good music omg no it makes me unhappy. so profound and true!!!!!!
isn't it unjust that class like this just falls by the wayside, yet we are force-fed with so much talentless shit thru the media. The voice and guitar should not gel; yet they do and it's heaven-sent.
@jwhite3028 Oh so stunning. Voice from Heaven. He would be what Grace Jones' baby brother would look like. OMG. What a duet that would be! These guys should be dominating the charts right now. But no, we have to put up with utter tat put out by the likes of Simon-I am Beelzebub's little wizard-Cowell. Scary.
yeah right - she wrote the lyrics/melody and he didn't? He is credited as co-writer, which given the relative quality of music and lyrics on the Duffy tracks meant she wrote the lyrics (appalling at times) and he wrote the music (sublime at times, especially on Distant Dreamer). Duffy is cowriter on all songs, but I just wonder what her contribution was, with BB and people like Steve Brooker
Had forgotten how stunning these two were,... going to buy this again. Totally sends you with his voice. Nothing else sounds like this!

This is what music is about!
Soul and feeling, and a tad of cool guitar!!
TD

I remember hearing this for the first time on radio 2 in the uk .

I LOVE this song! It conveys so much emotion, McAlmonts makes his guitar weep & Butlers voice is sublime! I

@JollMarps I want this as my well not wedding song but civil partnership song! Such a beautiful song.
Never seen this video before, thanks for posting!
classic!
@Ria666
Butler is the guitar player or i'm wrong ??
@Ria666
Butler is the guitar player and McAlmond is the singer ;-)
@monaleisa19 you're too right. and they are way underrated.
easy - amazon have both their CDs. Try BB's own pair of CDs - a little less immediate but some great songs there as well
All my hairs are standing up on end...
1:11 are those ‘things’ very tall Daleks? :)

Why do people listen to reality tv rubbish when there is proper talent out there?
*feels very old now*
