I Love New York (stylized I ❤ NY) is a slogan, a logo and a song that are the basis of an advertising campaign and has been used since 1977 to promote tourism in the state of New York, including New York City.

I’m from Upstate and I think that this song is only fit for NYC.
The music video? Yes. The actual song? No. The lyrics do not mention a single specific part of New York as to be more inclusive of the entire state. This was done on purpose. In fact, the ads it was used in often featured only Upstate with not a single frame showing NYC
Watching the retro commercials with this song, the entire state, cities, towns, etc. are featured. Even tourists from different states mentioned that they love New York.
