Tinman. I’ve done dozens of crankseals and bearings with no issues thanks to your videos. Much love from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

With your heritage, you should get yourself a Druzhba.

Hey hey Tinman, great advice as usual. I have always not looked forward to that part of a build or fix always lookin for just the right socket or washer. Going to definitely look for a seal diving kit. Thank for teaching me the importance of a timing wheel and the confidence to put a grinder to a cyinder. Have been watchin you for a long time and have enjoyed watchin you and your chanel grow along with your saw collection.

If you hate the flywheel side, how about stacking a few washers on top of the seal driver and use the flywheel nut to drive the crank seal in 🤔

I've only replaced crank seals on a few saws but have driven dozens of that type of seal in other applications using whatever I had on hand. Those seal drivers look like a real game changer!

I was just bopping through the backyard a couple of days ago, and to my extreme surprise was hit in the forehead by an angry wasp😮. I retreated with the rest of me intact and walked the other way to the lawnmower to compete my task of the evening. The next morning my left eye was swollen shut, and the right eye about half of the way. I have been stung many times over the past years, by bees and wasps….. never had a day in bed from a stinging. Corse I ain’t never been this old before either 😢. So as the story goes….some days you’re the windshield, some days you’re the bug😂

If you really want to be picky on details, smear a light coat of Motoseal around the
outer circumference of the seals before driving them in.

Husqvarna and a few aftermarket companies also make the seal driver for some of the husky’s that require the seal driven in past flush on the flywheel side and makes things easier to seat the seal to the correct depth.

I’ve only ever changed crank seals on three saws (288xp,028 and a craftsman) and I also replaced all the seals on a four stroke dirt bike and I haven’t had any issues yet. I normally coat the out side of the seal with motoseal, is that necessary or even a good thing to do.

Tinman, I posted my thanks in your porting vid on this 026. As I said, my original saw was my 026 from 1994 bought new. If I Vac and pressure test this saw and get no leaks, do you still recommend replacing seals just because of the age of the saw? Or would you go forth and run the saw with the original seals with no leaking, and not worry about it unless I possibly notice erratic running conditions?
