Love the set up. If you spend enough time with them they will become tame, but it does take a lot of visiting and touching and picking them up from they are young.
Do they still mate in winter? Also how many are in there? And how many are bucks? I would like to have this, have enough space for one. But i keep hearing u can’t put 2 bucks together or they’ll fight. And if one of the females becomes dominant u can have problems with even 2 women. That’s what the breeders here say.
Very interesting video. I've also been breeding rabbits for years in "traditional" cages, but now I kinda feel "guilty" and I really wanna shift to enclosure breeding for ethical and practical reasons (seems easier to maintain and is cooler in summer heat). But since 'til now they're each one in its own cage, you've made the choice to keep the buck with the does and the kittens, isn't it dangerous for them to be with the buck everyday ? does it harass the females and attack the babies ? Many thanks in advance.
We have not harvested them yet...most aren't meat rabbits, they are more the pet rabbit type for visitors to enjoy. In an emergency they would be a source of protein though.
No system runs perfectly...we strive for peaceful, happy living here on the farm but sometimes things happen. If you run a farm you understand totally.
