Don't dislike Krum, he was actually really nice and was the first to notice Hermione even though he was super popular.
In the books, Cedric is introduced much earlier. He's the Seeker for Hufflepuff's house team and Harry had to play against him in Prisoner of Azkaban, it was a tight bout but Cedric ended up winning his house the match because of the Dementors fucking about with Harry during the match. Overall, he was a very friendly character who was on good terms with Harry, even refusing to acknowledge his own victory because the Dementors' interference in the match was an unfair variable Harry had to deal with.
Most people miss him/easily forget him in Azkaban though

Though JK did spend the better part of a page hyping up Cedric IIRC talking about how even though he's taller and bulkier than Harry, he's still smooth and quick on a broom, impressive when you consider the severe weather conditions during the match so I suppose that could also stick with people.
Cedric was an amazing character, and the movies did him no justice.

Viktor Krum was actually really cool in the books. He kept sneaking into the library to try and talk to Hermione. He even spoke to Harry about her, and he assured her that they were just friends. Behind the international star, he's really just a shy 18 year old. They even complemented each other's Quidditch skills.
No idea why she wants krum dead. He was one of the nicest characters.

Krum in the books is a character who has his downsides, but he's the first to really show an interest in Hermione for who she really is. She is often bullied for having big teeth, or being a "know-it-all", and that's why none of her classmates thought she would go to the Yule Ball with anyone. But Krum invites her, and makes fun and a good time, and in his second test it is shown that she became the thing he values most, and that is why she is the one he must save in the lake. It is mentioned later in the books that the two remain in contact through letters, and JK has stated on several occasions that Viktor's feelings for her were true, and even lasted for several years after they met.
Also, we confirm that Cedric was one of the best characters in the books. He has some prominence in the third book, because one of the biggest Quidditch matches of the year is between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, so you start to grow fond of him much earlier, and that's why his death hurts you even more ToT

There was actually protection around every task to make sure the kids wouldn't be in danger! The dragon never escaped in the book, I don't know why they changed that in the movie. There were also people around them to contain the dragon if it escaped. That's why Cedric dying was completely unpredictable, they were being protected the whole time but Voldemort made Barty Crouch Jr. turn the cup into a portkey.
The movie doesn't do a great job at portraying it but Krum is actually a decent and nice person. I don't think he is the best option for Hermione (as a boyfriend at least) but he is a good person. I'm glad they stayed friends.
Also: the teachers wouldn't let the kids drown in the lake, obviously! If Harry didn't save Fleur's sister the teachers would've. AND Fleur is also a decent person. All the people competing in the tournament are actually nice.
I'm sure dragon escaping in the movie was purely for cinematic potential of the scene they made - dragon chasing harry who flies the broom.
Lol Krum is an international Quidditch star that just played in the Quidditch World Cup, so that’s why a bunch of girls are thirsting after him. He’s actually quite nice in the books.

Cedric Diggory was properly cast, because in the books, he was the captain &seeker of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team... a top student and a pretty boy. He became the Hogwarts Triwizard champion and eventually, the first death in the Harry Potter saga. Robert Pattinson played the role well, but he didn't get any major roles for a few years after 'Harry Potter' until he landed 'Twilight' as Edward Cullen.
Ralph Fiennes was the veteran actor who assumed the role of Lord Voldemort from this movie on... He did wear prosthetics for the role, but his nose had to be digitally altered to resemble a snake's nostrils... In the books, his eyes were supposed to be red, but not in the movies.
As u recall, Voldemort could not touch Harry Potter... his killing curse (which killed Lily & James Potter) rebounded and eliminated his powers, but somehow, he was able to survive in a weakened form by using the bodies of snakes... One in particular was that large snake he named Nagini. Voldemort used Nagini to give birth to that baby-sized form... When he had possessed Prof. Quirrell in the first movie, Quirrel died after he touched Harry Potter because Voldemort was unable to touch him.
However, after using Harry Potter's blood to regain his body and powers, he revealed that Harry had survived his death curse and vanquished him because of his mom Lily, who used old magic to cast a protection spell on her baby son, and it was activated by her death - her sacrifice gave Harry the ultimate protection from Voldemort. As a result, Voldemort could not touch Harry.
But his resurrection was brought about by using Harry's blood, so now, Voldemort found a way around Lily's protection spell and can touch him... He used the Cruciatos curse (or the 'torture' curse) on Harry and then unleashed the death curse...
Now, the death curse has no countercurse or spell against it... but Harry was still able to counter the death curse somehow, and their 2 wands connected and somehow broke the walls between the living and the deceased realms... Thus, the last 4 victims of Voldemort's wand appeared before Harry and helped him escape the graveyard. Voldemort is now perplexed on how Harry Potter was able to beat back his death curse...

Krum looks like he genuinely liked Hermione and he made her happy so yeah, I like him. He was bewitched inside the maze so it’s basically wasn’t him who is there.
On the other hand, I LOVE CEDRIC!! The first time I watched it, it took me minutes to cry when I realized that he’s really gone. I’m also convincing myself that he wasn’t dead. That they won’t do that to him, but they did. I just started crying when he asked Harry to bring his body back to his father and those tears continues when his father is screaming and crying over his dead body. I just feel like he doesn’t deserve that and I hate JK Rowling for that, LMAO
His death was necessary to make a certain point. From this moment forward we know Voldie is back and he means business, things for real and noone is off limits. From story point of view it was good choice.
Altho to be fair, when watching movie, his death did not get me as much as his dad crying over his dead son and saying "That's my boy".

Krum doesn't seem like a bad guy personality-wise. Maybe a little shallow because of Hermione's comment “We don’t really talk. Victor’s more of a physical being.” However, he was into Hermione when she was 14 even though he was 18... So, I don't like him.
@@tsuumee4545 I think you're misinterpreting her comment tho, I don't think it means he's shallow since that's already proven wrong by the fact he likes Hermione inspite of all odds. The line is intentionally meant for Harry to make fun of her for the double meaning, but I took it as he didn't bother her for attention while she studied or pressure her into things he just kept her comany. And sure he wasn't really talkative but if I'm not mistaken he also had a thick accent and struggled with the language in the book. As for the age difference, I guess that's fair.

They don't mention it in the film, but in the books one of Voldemort's followers is the executioner who was brought in to kill Buckbeak. This means the Ministry of Magic knowingly hired an ex magical terrorist to put down dangerous animals.

One of the first movies where books have so much more fun stuff in them. Mostly because JKR started making literal Bible sized books.
They really should have a tv series adaptation of Harry Potter. 1 season per book. It'll cover all the subplots that have been cut and have more time to flesh out characters. Like Game of Thrones.

I used to have a Cedric fanclub in elementary school before the movie came out! We were obsessed with Robert Pattison and we (a bunch of 9 year olds) left the cinema bawling our eyes out ✨
Ron's insecurities and inferiority complex really came out in this one. In the books it explains how Ron is shunted into the background all the time because of his 5 popular/successful older brothers and hus famous best friend. He gets looked down on by some because of his father's fascination with muggles and their lack of money. Harry being a champion just tipped him over the edge for a bit.
With Hermione it was jealousy plain and simple even if Ron didn't understand it himself. After all he just realized one of his best friends is a good looking girl. 😂
The dragon getting loose was just gratuitous and unneeded movie action since it didn't break loose in the book.

(And I wouldn't want to change any of those things. If I wouldn't get Ravenclaw I'd want to be in Slytherin personally, because these 2 houses are the only ones I'd fit in with)
Also, a lot of people think some houses are bad or good if you only see the movies or read the books. But remember that we see everything from Harrys point of view.
Here's the traits of the different houses. And neither is better or worse than the others.

Hufflepuff:- Hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play.

Why do you hate Viktor Krum so much, he does nothing bad this entire movie before trying to kill Cedric in the maze and that was only because he was under someone else control.
Rebecca, I've never managed to watch a Goblet of Fire reaction without sobbing, and it is a compliment when I tell you that I didn't cry during this one. Thank you! It's always so hard to get through them because the Cedric scene when they get back is so sad to me! I credit your personality and editing, I really enjoyed the video!

In the books, Krum hung out in the library trying to work up the nerve to talk to Hermione for like...months? Girls were always following him around, which disturbed her studying, which made her annoyed with his existence until he told her this lol. Ron was mad that someone he idolizes truly noticed Hermione before he did, then got stuck in an ugly shame place. I adore Krum. He's famous, but off his broom, he was just a nice, quiet, regular dude who simped over Hermione before anyone else did. And I love him for seeing her and all her awesomeness.

Goblet of Fire was a good example of a mixed bag of a movie adaptation of a popular book. It has good moments and plenty of wtf moments. I love the concept of the Triwizard Tournament, but along with The Hunger Games, I'd hate to be a contestant.
Also, I really love Brendan Gleeson as Alestor "Mad-Eye" Moody...even if it wasn't the REAL Mad-Eye for most of the damn movie. And that "spider" was really a whip scorpion.
In the book it was Dobby who gave Harry the Gilyweed.

If you loved Robert Pattinson in this movie (more than Harry), you should react to The Batman (2022). I had never seen him so incredible and serious.
I'm more perturbed by the use of "eliminated" to mean "dead" than I am about the Pattinson fangirling, which is saying something.
the guy who plays mad-eye moody kept up the lip licking during his time as the villain when David Tennant was in his body to make it more realistic because he wouldn't stop doing it just because he's in another body.

This is the only movie where Hufflepuffs have a House representative (Cedric) Hufflepuff was the most inclusive among the four houses, Helga Hufflepuff wants inclusivity in her House. Hufflepuffs valued hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play which Cedric did portray well in this movie 💛 When Harry tipped him about the dragon he asked if Fleur and Krum knew about it too (fair play) and he also tipped Harry about the task in the black lake with the egg. And in Book 3 (Prisoner of Azkaban) He's playing in the Hufflepuff quidditch team against Gryffindor, he asked for a rematch when Harry fell off his broom because of the Dementors (fair-play) andddd When they both reached the portkey in the maze he asked Harry to just take the cup because Harry saved him from the maze at the end of the movie💛 We also have Nymphadora Tonks which is a Metamorphmagus......After giving birth to his son Teddy with Remus Lupin....she fought in the battle of Hogwarts after giving birth just shows how she puts others first before herself 💛 and we have Newt Scamander too (from Fantastic beast movies) Hufflepuffs likes to put other peoples needs first before them💛 idk why some people are hating our House and making fun of us being sorted in Hufflepuff Imao I LOVE MY HOUSE 🦡 HUFFLEPUFF FOR LIFEEEEE~
