    Good advice. I'd personally recommend going up the American medium line as opposed to the heavy as they have a good balance of mobility and firepower. Noobs can also purchase the British and Chinese lines for no silver but I wouldnt earn using these tanks.

    • @PhazeyBlur

      I second this, imo new players need to learn the game fast especially in learning the maps, and mediums give you the speed/acceleration/traction to learn them, for example: "what would the battlefield look like if i go south? or if i go east?" etcetc. Heavy tanks are much slower, you should already know where you're going and will get there before getting detected or shot via true-vision.
      There's also those annoying british tanks: the two light tanks that can and will circle you to death and your frontal and turret armor won't mean much, then the fv4001 tank, if you get caught in the open or get flanked by it (fv4001 is quite fast) you're screwed.

    I just hit my 1 yr mark so I'm still kinda new.
    I started on cold war because it was the first option. After a few days of playing I tried ww2 and hated it. I didn't understand the magic disappearing tanks or why I was getting one shotted from across the map. Don't start on ww2.
    You left out what i think is the most important thing to understand about WOT, Premium time and the season pass. If your going to pay to play and buy gold don't waste it on one commander and a couple boosters. For that same price you could get the ultimate season pass and get a free commander to start. And also earn multiple commanders, boosters, silver, gold, and premium tanks thru the season,
    A few other hints
    Number one is make sure to switch your ammo prices from gold to silver.
    Don't buy premium tanks just get the season pass and premium time. They give away to many premium tanks and they can nerf them after you buy them. I have 50+ premium tanks and I've only bought two. One was the armadillo and it got nerfed a week after I bought it.
    Before you play look at the daily, weekly and other challenges under the season tab, and always have an active contract.
    Get a light tank as soon as possible. It's much easier to explore the map and mobility is life.
    Platoon up as much as possible, most players will help new players figure things out.
    It's just a game. Become comfortable getting blown up, going back to the garage and jumping in a different tank.

      Funny that you say Cold War was the "first" option - that wasn't a mistake ... it's deceiving the player into starting Cold War first rather than WW2. Cold War has not been received well by the community and hasn't had anywhere near the popularity that the Devs have hoped for. So in order to "force" more players into Cold War and to falsely inflate Cold War's player numbers, the default game mode chosen for a new player is Cold War rather than WW2.
      It's an incredibly scummy move by these scumbag Devs who have been ruining this game for the last 4 years. Do yourself a favor and quit while you're ahead - this game is no longer worth it.

      @@jacobsekela8691 I thoroughly enjoy playing the game, and have become a decent player in my short time.
      I like cold war and don't understand the obsession with the fairytale mechanics in ww2. Every multiplayer game I have ever played has had true vision, it's not something infinitely complex like the spotting mechanics in ww2. The game is difficult enough for new player to figure out with the magic disappearing or invisible tanks shooting at them. Then if you add in a new player trying to grind a tech tree tank and always being -2 against vetran players in a premium is enough to make most new players give the game up completel. Add in the cancer of artillery and I don't know why anyone plays it.

    • @jacobsekela8691

      @@derricksparks4570 the mechanics in WW2 is what makes the game unique and set it part from other online multiplayer games. I’ve played this game for 7+ years - WW2 was always the only game mode and has a strong learning curve, and that’s what made it fun. Cold War pretty much holds your hand the entire time. Even the worst players can have decent results in Cold War without even trying, which is ridiculous and only encourages poor gameplay.
      Happy to see you’re enjoying yourself but this game used to be much, much better. The game’s community has collapsed to pretty much 1/3 of what it used to be and there’s a lot less content available for new players to take advantage of. The official forums were instrumental in helping me become the experienced veteran player I am today, but sadly the Devs have shut down the forums completely, so you won’t have that luxury.

      The point about premium time and the season pass is valid. I didn’t go with that based on the fact that money spent of both of those has the potential to perish. Premium time expires as does the season pass. If you’re not committed 100% your commander will still be there should you return 3-6 months later.

      The ww2 version has so many tanks now that even playing in t1 u get paired with mostly t3's that most t1's cant fight against easily. I personally stopped playing the ww2 version because i had wanted to start fresh but also because i have so amny tanks i got for free that it feels like a waste of time as i never grinded the game to get them. Ecspecially the premium tanks from free dlc packs and events i guess which cant be leveled up anyway. Its good for tank variety yet not for playable fairness.

    Great video, agree with your recommendation of starting with the M46, then moving on to the T34. I’m partial to the new Leopard line myself, but as you pointed out in your last livestream, that line is more suited to players with more experience under their belt, as the armour is not very forgiving, and the tanks are not as tolerant of mistakes, of which I made plenty when I started.

      The easy way ti get round that is to find out where the strongest armour is on the tank u want to use and adapt ur gameplay to suit around the strongest point of ur tank. Heres an example.
      The t1 t-44 medium tank is tbh quite useless and embarrassing in stats upgrades and armour. However the strongest armour is around the gun its self. Now with my personal testing of the t-44 so far. The front of the vehicle although it has quite a bit of armour, it still gets penetrated very easily. So to adapt around it i found out that if u use the environment quite literally such as hiding ur tank behind big rocks with flat terrain and only have the hull gun and front facing the enemy, u can ricochet enemy fire quite easily taking little to no damage while also protecting vital parts of the tank which is practically the rest of the t-44 tank. Its rather poor in all fields however its best used to hold back and take pot shots at ppl behind cover. Despite it being a medium tank which are known and meant fir flanking, the t-44 just doesnt suit being a medium nor a flanking tank.

    Great video with a well delivered explanation as to why the T34 was chosen. Personally, I chose to pursue the T 44 line due to the well known Russian bias this game has to employ to keep their primary customers happy. Unlike WW2 mode, the grind is very short and I think it took about a week till I was in era 3 with a T72.
    That said, if you are going to pursue the M46 line I would choose the M47 over the T34 so you are not stuck with a single irrelevant heavy tank option to grind and which dumps you right back into a medium tank . The M47 also allows you to branch into the German line of Leopards which, in my opinion, are the best tanks in the game at the moment.

      Each tank type, heavy tank destroyer medium light and arty all have their own uses. Yet even further still specific tanks in those fields such as the t-44 t1 tank dont always suit where its put. I found this both the easy and hard way.

    • @PhazeyBlur
      @PhazeyBlur 2 роки тому

      Russian bias? you're kidding right? this is not the PC version, the devs for wotc lives in Chicago and Baltimore, hence the name WGCB.
      Try going to the recruit new commander tab, then count how many USA commanders are available (all 1,2,3 stars), then count the Russian ones. I think you will be surprised. Even if we discount duplicates due to diverse race, still too many imho.
      Try going in a M1A2 load prem rounds and shoot T72BU's frontal armor using lock-on, you will penetrate more than if it's the other way around, in T72BU you have to flank the M1A2 or manually aim at the gap below the turret.
      And currently you can't recruit german commanders using silver (1-star), they are really milking the addition of the Leopard line ain't they?

    • @rodncin
      @rodncin 2 роки тому

      @@PhazeyBlur Yeah, I dont think I will ever have to recruit any new commanders after WoT was nice enough to convert about 30 or so during 6.0. to 9 slot. Who cares what nation a commander comes from anyway as long as they have 9 slots. Heck I have a pixie in my M50 and a Swede in my FV4005 and a German dude in the MBT70.
      As for the bias, well at the Championships in L.A. a couple years ago I asked one of the devs about it and he confirmed since their main clientele was Russian they did lean towards making the soviet tanks being more viable. Additionally my wife almost went to work for them after her stint at playstation until she found out where the paychecks were coming from.
      Lastly, I do own four of the five top tanks with just the Chinese to go. So maybe, just maybe that, plus the nearly 23K battles on console and over 19K on PC I might know a few things about this game and how it runs.

  • @unboxing_legend7708
    @unboxing_legend7708 2 роки тому

    Yeah no im sry but when u get so many boosters in the cold war version of world of tanks on console and silver boosters as well, u can just constantly repurchase the advanced perks that are tbh kinda broken when used correctly. I played like 80 total games altogether b4 i ran out for the 1st time unable to repurchase it.
    Also i havant gone the t34 route only because id rather do the straight medium branch 1st b4 going other directions. The better solution for starters that even i hadnt noticed was the fact that u want to check both tanks armour straight away to see what oart of the tank has the most armour and resistance so u can play around with finding unique ways to block incoming shots while returning fire ur self.
    With the t-44 tank, i had found that its hp and its armour for a level 1 tank is actually quite poor for a medium t1 tank on cold war. The only decent armour resistance comes from the armour surrounding the gun its self. Ive tested this myself and even the front armour on the bottom despite being very resistant, still easily gets penned by enemy fire and the t-44 is more of a defensive last resort type tanks.
    The best way to use the t-44 is to find rocks on the maps with flat enough ground to where only ur turret is peeking over the rocks while the rest of ur tank stays covered. Any slight incline or decline and any slight open part of ur tank showing to the enemy that isnt the turret and gun its self usually deals a massive problem.
    The t-44 can be 1 shot by the tank destroyer fv if not used properly medium tanks that arnt the t-44 can deal up to 400 dmg around average if exposed to weak points of ur tank and the low hp of 1400hp to the slight increase of the american tank's 1450hp makes all the difference.
    The thing ive done is to up level the american tank 1st before the t-44 so u still have a stronger t2 tank to rely on and ive personally decided to keep the t1 tank as well just in case.
    As for the upgrades on the t-44 its rather useless either than for spotting as the american tank gets all round stat increases really whereas the t-44 only really gets sight range and hp only if u want to sacrifice literally every other stat by debuffing them.

    I have to disagree with your tanks selection. Slow tanks are dead tanks. CW Is about speed and fire power. The American tanks are slow and lumbering. You can't get into position in time and escape is impossible. The T44 is better because of it's speed, firepower, armor. Out flanking and maneuverability are the down side of every team that holds a ridge line in any Era. With Era 1 tds that can go lightening fast, swarming British lights, and a German medium that can go 65kph stock. The American tanks shouldn't be recommended they should be buffed.

      @amomentarygenius 2 роки тому +2

      The top speed is irrelevant when it takes forever and hill to reach it. A slow turret and slow reload will frustrate a new player when they're in a circle of death.
      I realize Riki recommended a tank to deliberately handicap a new player, so the new player can't rush in and to keep faster tanks ahead of them for spotting purposes. Which is my second problem with this video, Riki recommended a tank but gave no advice on how to play it. 1. Keep you allies in front of you to spot. 2. Stay behind a hill when reloading and the only have you turret above the hill line when you're ready to fire (hull down). 3 Keep an eye on your map so you know when to push, retreat, defend your flank, reposition, etc.

    • @unboxing_legend7708
      @unboxing_legend7708 2 роки тому

      Slow tanks arnt dead tanks if u use ur head. Dont get me wrong playing slow often gets boring on world of tanks so i rush in head 1st as a medium tank yet on cold war, i found out a little recently that u can find out what oarts of the tank ur viewing has the most armour. The t-44 is an overall weak t1 medium tank yet if u use it in a specific situation where ur only peek the enemy with ur tank hull obviously facing them while the rest of ur tank is covered. U tend to ricochet enemy fire quite often and take little to no damage or any severe lasting damage like destriyed tracks which are a major problem for that tank. It has little armour poor stats for a medium t1 tank and it only really is a situational tank meant for spotting pot shots and holding back.

    • @unboxing_legend7708
      @unboxing_legend7708 2 роки тому

      Also the american t1 tank on cold war actually only is 3km slower than the t44 with its best upgrades. Im unsure perk wise which is better but i did get the american tank with perks up to 58km which is quite an increase. Either than that even the upgrades for the t-44 is mostly poor. A debuff to all stats but a slight hp increase or dmg increase from a gun upgrade (well downgrade). Its not worth it really. Would not be suprised if its one of the worst t1 medium tanks or at least a runner up for it.

    • @unboxing_legend7708

      @@amomentarygenius very true fir the t-44 on cold war. If the turret even gets slightly damaged, tht like 4 seconds of reload time or 3 goes up to like 8 or 9 and if severely damaged or broken it could be i think ive had up to 18 but i remeber 12 reaccuring quite often. Thts 12 seconds per shot dealing like 250dmg a shot. When u have ppl in t1 with like 1500hp, this is embarrassing for the tank.

    Fundamental question - should a new player start with Cold War (M46A1 or T44)? Or should a new player go to Tier 2 WW2 and just get to grips with the basic mechanics of the game?
    I feel CW Era 1 for an absolute beginner is quite a hard learning curve...my own feeling is that enter WW2 first at tiers 2-4, then move across to CW.

Travis "Sparky" Nelson assigned as tank commander. I'm having a bit of a newbie hangup, lol. Part of me doesn't want to spend silver to upgrade the M46A1 when I can save that currency for tank I wish to unlock, but it does does seem to take ages to earn the XP needed to progress to the next vehicle. I take it that upgrading the M46A1 will earn me more in game XP?

    • @Rikitikitave
      @Rikitikitave  Рік тому +1

      Upgrading the tank will result in a tank that can perform better in each game. For example, an upgraded engine will help your speed and acceleration. Better speed and acceleration can help you get away from situations that would have otherwise gotten you killed. Not being dead means you can carry on participating in the battle and therefore earn more xp for that game.
      Spend the silver you have on tank equipment and upgrading modules. As a new player you'll need to spend the time learning the maps and more importantly, learning what not to do in a battle.
      It costs about 72 million silver to buy and upgrade each tank in a full line of 9 tanks. For now, focus on your M46 and getting the hang of how to play.
