Tan Dun's Concerto was interesting. I am not usually a fan of modern music. There is a lot of it that seems a bit of industrial noise and clangor, which does reflect the rootless and transitory urbanism that is a bit of a negation of the way we grow food and wait for things to eat through growing seasons. A lot of urban folk just find it very strange to need to wait for anything. They don't want to hear about the way of growing crops, the way of raising livestock or slaughtering livestock, or all the logistical train that brings it all to the store. The deep-seated wish is Star Fleet replicators, and all the food miraculously is there in the store or on the plate in a restaurant without explanation ... for the price they pay. The more disconnected they are to the real costs and effort of food production, the more they would rather just cut off their own foot and eat it, thinking they are just doing themselves a favor ... if they won't need it to do any strenuous work toward the prolongation of their own lives. The vegans would just think Chicken Run is about throwing all their food packaging in the garbage and destroying the need or desire to think about anything other than impatient and uninformed consumption of their food with a sense of entitlement they just pay for. If there are people who need to afford food in a way the celebrities don't allow, they really wouldn't mind storing the concern in some African Ebola outbreak for the "no food for you" button or a cholera outbreak for the "no drink for you" button. Patrick the pink Cruella watching that from underneath a rock, thinking of being more alone and increasing his fun time with no further delay.
