Do you know how long you should have them wait on the potty to pee? I've been doing the blowing bubbles method and it works! However sometimes it takes a very long time for her to pee. She is always asking to pee pee so we go back and forth to the bathroom all day. Does this ever subside lol? Do you know about how many successful pees it takes for them to stop holding their pee or being scared to release it? Thank you so much for this awesome video!
I'm so glad you found the video to be helpful! The urges definitely subside as children learn their body's cues. It might take a few weeks or just a few days, every child is different. She can sit on the potty for as long as she is comfortable sitting. It's really a lot of child-led learning and exploring so I like to let them lead the way :)
@@SlumberandBloom awwe thank you so much for your reply! I've been a little stressed about it, but I decided recently, like you said, to let her lead the way. And she has been better about the timing and how often she asks. She's doing great 💗 thank you so much again!

This is happening with my niece. It goes beyond needing just a new potty .. they are actually scared to release the urine in fear it will hurt.. Regardless of the potty they sit on. Did you find any solutions or see a dr? We ruled out uti but she’s still scared it’ll hurt
Water, bubbles…nothing helps. Pees on the floor minutes later. I can see him hold the urge when on the potty. He likes sitting on it and playing though 😩 do you think i formed negative association by prompting? He’s 1y9m been trying for 2 weeks

we did the warm water in a bowl on feet or hands and it worked like magic. esp since our daughter was a camel and would hold almost 10 hours during the day. we got her going good with the water then once she made the connection of the feeling the release once on the potty then we slowly started taking away the water. we only use it when we know she needs to go and it's been 6+ hours for risk of uti. and we got the poop with the pee at the sake time which I'm so thankful for! so now as soon as she sits she pees!!!! 😊😊
Hi miss yando. My daughter has been potty trained since she was two. One day she peed herself and that lasted a whole year, being as much as 9 times a day. She's 5 now, nearly 6, and is on her second regression. She would pee herself up to 5 times a day, and not say she's wet. It's been 6 months of this . And it's making it extremely difficult to potty train my 4 year old son. Any tips? They don't have a UTI, or bladder problems. It's mental. We talk about the same thing every single day , between the both of them, for 2 years now. They do know better, they know exactly what to do. I'm overwhelmed and very stressed 😥
So I'll share our story. This will be a bit of a word salad. We tried potty training our daughter a few times, and it turned out to be a colossal failure. Now, she's 3 years old and is showing all the signs that she's ready to potty train. She's actually gone a couple of times without us telling her. Of course, we made a big deal and celebrated each time. However, we have also had a new baby, and although it's not recommended, we thought we'd try again since she's showing all the signs. We thought we would start by letting her run around naked. However, it turned into an issue where she held her pee, and then when she gets put in underwear, she'll immediately release it all. Should we just take a break and go back to diapers? And if so, how long should we wait before trying again? Our new baby is currently 1 month old.
Once you go bare bottom, don't turn back. Flip flopping is going to send her the message that it's optional. She should be bare bottom until she's going consistently without needing prompts every time you see her pee/poop signs. I don't even recommend going into underwear before going commando for a while. Grab my course. It'll help you learn the process easily. slumberandbloom.com/pottypartythecourse/
My son does this too. He sits when his classmates does...and doesnt do anything in the potty.....then when he is 'done'....few second slater he pees his underwear. At home he will refuse a diaper after bath and again go potty only to have nothing...just so i dont put ont he diaper again. He ends up falling asleep and I have to put one on then with his pj's
My kiddo is 3 and 2 months. Did the 3 day at home potty training. She was able to get 1 successful poo and 1 pee in the potty. For the last week and a half, she's holding until nap or nighttime sleep. I've seen her hold it up to 8-9hrs. We know her signs for needing to pee or poop. With pee, she's dancing around and just holding it. She gets pretty upset and wants to do anything to take her mind off of it - throwing things, wanting to be held, crying. However, she won't pee. She's doing everything she can to keep it in even though it's dribbling all over the living. Bubbles didn't seem to work. Even the prompting every 30 minutes just seemed to make her more resistant. We backed way off. What else can we try?
Bubbles trick worked a couple of times but then didn’t help at all. I will try the warm water tomorrow. We just started potty training my 2 year old daughter and she is absolutely petrified about doing a wee in the potty. She does end up doing it though but it’s always so difficult as she has been holding her wee for 2 hours or more. I hope we can resolve this soon :-(
It actually sounds like she's not emotionally ready. If you have time to pull back and try again when she's older, that might be the best thing for her.

I watched this video 2months ago but was nonchalant trying it at first but with holding of urine from my son even despite staying more than 30mins in the washroom, giving him things for reward just for stting and not even peeing. I decided to try putting his feet in warm water, in less than 30secs he peed all through through. The few times he has tried peeing in potty when he was struggling he will pee out like 5 to 10mls and you will see the rest dribbling and you se him trying so hard to hold back. With the feet in warm water he was so relaxed and so happy peeing all. Why i initially felt reluctant trying was that he is not the type that pee will bathing despite he likes bathing unike me that easily pees when i get in to bath. He is more like his dad 😂 initially i tot it was pretty so common for people to pee while in bathroom. I said i must come back here to say thanks for this video

There's probably an emotional barrier. Take her to the store and see if there's a potty seat in the potty training aisle that she is comfortable using. If she chooses the potty to use, she will be more likely to use it. I hope this helps!

Don't give her a naptime diaper. I know it probably sounds overwhelming, but she has to learn that she can't hold it until then. If it doesn't help, you may want to wait a few months and try again.
Just tried the warm water trick and it worked like a charm! He was doing great with potty training and then this morning he decided to hold it. Thank you for this video!
I've tried these tricks, unfortunately my daughter hasn't released once while doing them and generally has an accident then within 5-10 minutes from being on the potty. Other ideas??
It depends on how often you're having her sit. Are you making her sit on the toilet or is she choosing to go on her own? What about rewards? Do you have a reward system in place? Also, how are you responding to accidents?
@@SlumberandBloom I started with every 20 minutes but changed it to more of every hour unless I can tell she has to go. I have to walk her to the bathroom, she won't go in alone. I do have a reward of a few pieces of m&ms and a sticker chart. When she does have an accident I try to not over react and tell her it's ok and place her on the potty in case there is more. She gets very upset with the accidents and starts crying and screaming for 10 mins usually!
My 4 years daughter developed an unknown cause for not peeing or holding it for long time and as well as holding poop. We are very afraid and failed to give her training as she always ignore everything related to potty or pee. She started this kind of behaviour very recently and all of a sudden. Prior to that we took her to bathroom and she peed everytime. Please please help us.. we are very tensed and worried..

That is just humiliating to both parent and child. I've had my kids pee on the side of the road, blocked by the car, or behind a tree if we're in a rural area.
I'll definitely have to try the bubbles idea. We've tried about everything else already. She's been potty trained for about a year now, and she just suddenly won't pee. It got so bad that our doctor told us to take her to the ER last night, as it had been over 24 hours. We were there for 5 hours, they tested for UTI's, did blood work and scans and didn't find anything. So I think it's all mental, we just haven't figured out what's causing it. Hopefully the bubbles work!
Thank you for your tips and tricks, it really works with my daughter especially the bubbles 😃 thank you

Just tried the warm water trick and it worked like a charm! He was doing great with potty training and then this morning he decided to hold it. Thank you for this video!
That is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
That is me when I was 5 for perpous I hold my pee I go to the toilet a few minutes later yakes
Try the tummy massage potty training method
Tummy massage is great, but not a method to teach children to use the toilet.
Nothing worked. I tried all😢
I'm sorry you're frustrated! It sounds like your child might not be ready yet. I'd recommend rediapering and revisiting in a few months!
YOU MISSED THE E IN URINE
is it normal for teens hold it forever?
I'd ask the pediatrician, but as long as it isn't leading to a UTI. I used to go all school day without going and I was fine!
I'd love to help, but I need more info. I'd have to do a full evaluation and write you a step-by-step potty plan. Check out my website and set up a call if you're interested in my professional help: slumberandbloom.com/free-evaluation/
Is it OK to tell your child to pee themselves if there is no bathroom around
ummmmmmmmm no.
That is just humiliating to both parent and child. I've had my kids pee on the side of the road, blocked by the car, or behind a tree if we're in a rural area.
Ok gonna give the bubbles a try as my daughter loves to blow bubbles! I’ll check back! Hehe 😉
Good luck!! Give it a few days of trying it! ❤
Oh no! I'm sorry it's been so difficult. Worst case scenario, you can go back to diapers for a few weeks and do a reset and then try again.
Any luck Edward since the time has passed?
She talks to much just get to the point geez
Then go watch someone else, Robert... byeeeeeee
@@SlumberandBloom I know right. Rude!
