My son is pee trained. But he just doesn't sit to poop so it's impossible to get him to poop on the seat. He doesn't push at all when he sits. But as soon as he is in his pants and stands, he will poop. He is 3.4 and I feel like I have already left it too late.
OMG me too!!!! You described my situation perfectly!!! I feel like I waited too late to and my son would not go for a hole in his diaper that would just be weird to him and it would be weird to me too honestly 😅 He tells me his butt tickles but after he tells me he's already done it and if I try to get him to go on the potty before he has to go he says it's not coming out get me down. So I can't even make him sit to try. And at first he was completely against the potties that sit on the floor. And I've tried every resource out there and I just can't do it 🥺
Use a potty pad let him squat over it naked tell him to fart and he might poop if that don't work tickel him if he has to poop and starts to pee tell him. To try to fart oops they will poop and won't know you tricked him to poop outside of the diaper
My son doesn’t hold his poop, he just seems to not go in the potty… he’ll just poop in undies, I don’t want him back in diapers because he pees so well, but poops in undies every time even if he just went pee
I'd love to help with this! It is much easier to do a full assessment and give you a customized plan to work with and solve the poop issues. You can check out my packages here: slumberandbloom.com/pottytraining/
You should tell him next time you poop in undies you will wear a diaper until you poop on potty then you will wear the pullups for one year to prove your potty trained if he starts pooping in pull-up find a teenager and get them to change his poopy pull-up let the teenager decide to what they put onhim diapers or undies if undies let teenager try potty training him I bet it works
Thank you for this information my son just turned 4 and he can pee easily but when it comes to poop he refuses and says his scared 😢 I only sat him without a pull up when he hides but I will definitely try your suggestions.
My son is withholding. I didn't realize he was withholding. I thought he was pushing. He withholding all the time, even with a diaper on. We had to give him a glycerin suppository and he was even trying to hold that in too. The doctor prescribed restoralax and said to put him on the potty every 2 hours just to get used to the potty but i don't know how its going to work becsuse he goes on the potty to pee but when it comes to poop, he withholds all the time even in his diaper and then doesnt go for days and then we have to give him laxatives. Its been 5 months of dealing with constipation. Right now we are on the first few day of clearing his bowls with restoralax and then we are supoosed to decrease the dosage medication and keep him on it for 3 months. What can i do to help him release and not be scared of it. He just turned 3. Please, give me some tips or suggestions. I am desperate and depressed about it
It sounds like you have a game plan with the pediatrician. Do that + read books, play games, and talk openly about pooping. Let him watch you poop and help you flush it down. Reach out if you need more help. www.slumberandbloom.com/potty-training
We been having the same issue with my 3.6 toddler. She started getting pain in her lower stomach. We didnt really see how long she had not gone #2. Went to urgent care and ER, xray, ultrasound and ct scan, showed it was just backed up stool. She finally went, but now is on day 5 of not going again. Says she is scared. Been giving her plums, probiotics, apple, apple juice, plenty of water. She doesnt complain about pain, but im kinda lost on what to do. Any ideas?
My daughter is almost 3 years old and we got the peeing part down and at times she’ll poop in the toilet if I have her without a diaper or undies but as soon as she had a diaper she’ll poop in it. Sometimes she’ll realize when it’s too late . Im not sure how to teach her how to push .. I’ve tried everything! ):
This was helpful. My daughter just turned 2 and she is almost fully potty trained. She only wears a diaper at nap time and bedtime and barley wets them. Pooping is a different monster. She has went 3x but she will hold it for 2 to 3 days.
I have a 5yo son who will poop on a potty but who absolutely refuses to go on tje toilet. He'll pee sitting on the toilet. But absolutely refuses to poop. I've tried all bribes. I don't know how to proceed. I'm sitting him down for months... whiping him on the toilet after he's done with the potty, and also make him throw the poo in the toilet from the potty. He'll do anything, but he just won't poop on the toilet. There's 5 billion guides how to go the potty, but nothing on the final step to the toilet. Any ideas?
Well, he's not pooping in his pants, so that's a win. The only thing I'd say you could try is taking the potty away completely and seeing what happens. You just need to keep a fine line between pushing him to do what you know he can do and not traumatizing him. There's a reason why he won't poop in the toilet and you need to figure out why that is happing before trying to change the behavior.
@@SlumberandBloom For some reason yesterday my wife suggested to give him something to watch to relax him. So I gave him a tablet to watch and he actually did it. We've been struggling for months. I had refused him the potty for 1.5 day at that point and he had been holding it in. He just needed the distraction to let it go. Today he went without hesitation. Obviously still with a little video. I'll have to deal with that later , but this is fine with me for now.
My daughter 4.5 year old still potty trained. She refused to poop in the toilet she said she scared. Now she go to school and put pulls up. Teacher ask if still potty train and diaper all the time. I told when she only wear panty. Im being stress, idk if we still sent her to school.
Did you try to give your child a pedialax enema or a pedialax suppository glycerin daily rectally or a cotton swab with Vaseline petroleum jelly rectally daily
enemas are not recommended for pediatric patients without a doctor's recommendation. They can do more harm than good. I don't want parents finding my channel to think this is advice I would give them.
How do I get my 3.5 yo son comfortable to sit on the potty, he absolutely refuses to sit on a potty big or small. 😭 I’m sure it’s because the few times he has gone no 2 on the potty they’ve been big poos/painful and now he’s scared.
Try a tummy massage clockwise motion bicycle his or her legs try a pedialax enema or a pedialax suppository glycerin daily rectally or a cotton swab with Vaseline petroleum jelly rectally daily
Many great ideas. Opting for an enema is not recommended though. Not only can parents administer them incorrectly, they can do more damage than good if done wrong, and add to the trauma. Def not something I recommend without a medical provider giving the recommendation or administration.
What do you do for helping them to comprehend pooping? My son is 2 and I feel like he doesn’t really understand pooping on the potty, almost like he doesn’t have the urge when on the toilet
We are desperate and in need of advice? Our 4 year old daughter absolutely refuses to poop in the potty. She will squeeze her cheeks together when she feels it coming out and hold it in. We’ve been dealing with this for over a year now. She did have constipation issues at first but we’ve been giving her fiber gummies that are helping that. It’s like she’s scared to let it come out and we are failing at healing her. Everyone is about to blow our tops!! Please help?

My son has the same issue, he says poop doesn’t go in toilet and won’t sit to poop.

I have purposely let my toddler watch me use the bathroom. But I don’t tell anyone because I would feel really judged
Children watching parents go is normal and you shouldn’t feel judged but not everyone gets that I understand!
You're doing a great job! Don't feel judged by anyone. If they are judging you, they're not FOR you! No judgement here, mama!
