- Took a walk through Östermalm down to Djurgården Island to see the famous Vasa Museum, where the 17th Century sailing vessel VASA is on display. We also went for a burger, just because. Anyway, come join me for a walk in Stockholm.

They call Sweden Lilac heaven ,they have more shads of colors in the trees than any other country, my first house had real tall white lilac trees planted close together that lined the the property on the road side .The trees keep the dust from flying on the yard
My favorite flower!
Thank you so much for this gift of the tour. Not only was it amazing, it’s something I would never have seen or even known about! It was very much appreciated from this viewer!
This is an instant favorite, the eye-popping details, the cave-like atmosphere, the craftsmanship of the shipbuilders and your camerawork, your calm and collected comments. I for one wouldn't trade the VASA for a hundred MARINE ONES. Thank you for everything you do for us!
Love this video ! Looks like purple lilacs. Everything looks sparkling clean. Such a beautiful city. Intriguing ship, so tragic. Watched about it on Rick Steve’s’ video about Sweden. Fascinating . You make everything so interesting Andrew…. Never knew we would travel overseas !😊 Thanks for taking us along.
Yep lilacs. Such a great smelling flower. Loving the video!
Love this video. Everything looks so pretty and clean. A very interesting tour for us at home. Thanks
The workmanship on that vessel is just incredible and to think it is in such great condition after being submerged for so long. Everything there looks so neat and clean. Thanks for sharing with us.
My kind of city in spring. So beautiful and serene.
Thank you for taking us along on your trip. Absolutely beautiful country and the ship was awesome. I also enjoyed watching the changing of the guard, the horses are gorgeous to watch. Seems so peaceful in Stockholm, very quiet. Have a safe journey home!
Thank you for the tour. Think I'll watch again to make it worthwhile for all your hard work. Great job!☺️💁
That ship was magnificent!
I have decided i love Sweden!
I also think those flowers are lilac, since lilac can be found in many european countries, and this flower smells wonderful. Nice to see the old trams (trains) riding around the city, it is electric and does not polute. It is very conveniant for people to avoid taking cars and get stuck in the traffic, and going around the city. Tank you Andrew for this journey around Stockholm. I hope you can find some nice places for food including sweets.
Purple Lilac bushes!!! One of my favorites!.
mine too
Thank you for the tour of Stockholm. 👍
WOW that ship. Thanks so much for this video!
The monument in the park (called Humlegården, btw) is of Carl Linnaeus / Carl von Linné. He was a Swedish botanist, zoologist, taxonomist, and physician who formalised binomial nomenclature, the modern system of naming organisms. Linné is world famous in the above sciences.
Awesome ship…! Such intricate details…I wonder how long it took to produce a full functioning ship ready for sea…thanks for the tour.
I am in awe of this magnificent ship. The craftsmanship is amazing to say the least. I can’t thank you enough for sharing this with us. This is the only way most of us will see parts of Sweden. So beautiful & interesting to say the least.
That is beautiful and the sounds are so peaceful!
WOW! what pride the craftsmen took in making that ship! just beautiful!
Wow!! That was so interesting seeing how people aboard the ship that sank may have looked like. I have seen images of scholars and other people from ancient history that have been created. Each was highly fascinating! Yummy, burger, Coke & fries!
Amazing and very interesting walking tour of the city and especially the Vasa Museum. The craftsmanship and detail of the Vasa is really kool and enshrined the remains of the crew. Thank you for sharing all with us.
What an amazing trip! That boat was tremendous! Have you ever visited the Hunley museum in Charleston SC? They recreated the crew men as well. Creapy and cool!
I remember the day they had the Beautiful ceremony for the men that died on the Hunley. I can’t imagine being in that horrible boat with no escape God rest their souls. Blessings Donna
@@deborahworth5291 I went to that exhibit at patriot Park b4 they even had the museum. It was being cataloged and excavated
Impresionante video. De ahora en más, tendrás mucho trabajo, para reescribir nuestra historia. Gracias
We went there. Stockholm Vasa. Quite a story on that ship laying down there in port for about 300 years. The ships engineers remind me of the Maxwell Smart quote: “Missed it by that much!” It literally blew over. Enjoy your vacation P6👍👍😎🇺🇸
Work trip.
Thanks for another outstanding video. I visited the VASA ship and museum a long time ago. If I remember correctly, a major part of the ship's restoration process was injecting a resin under pressure into the wood to drive out water from the waterlogged wood and when the resin dried it became sort of an internal skeleton supporting the weight of the vessel.
I have traveled to Europe many times over the past fifty years, sometimes as a tourist and sometimes for work. A rather universal truth is that anyone in western Europe educated since WWII speaks english as it is a part of the educational curriculum throughout Europe.
Thank you for sharing. Loved the ship museum!
I went through that museum as well.
Beautiful Lilacs
Thanks so much for sharing your Sweden trip with us. It's so beautiful. Definitely want to check it out now 🤩😍
So you're in Stockholm🤗 I live in Falun, approx 3 hours north by train. A World Heritage Town. I may arrange a furnished apartment for free for one night in my communal house (regular rent/night is ca $30). I can show you around by car. However, tomorrow monday I'll have a hernia operation in Mora, Dalarna. Nice to hear back from you🤗
“I'm married and I have a good wife”. That was lovely. ❤️ Thank you for the museum tour. It was fascinating.
Loved your video today. That ship was beautiful!
Those pretty smelling flowers look like lilac bushes. They smell divine.
I was there in the ‘70’s. The Vasa ship was amazing.
Thank you so much for sharing this video and the ship, beautiful carvings. It probably took as much time or more for the carvings than to build the ship. Have a great evening 😊
Love this video!
Wowie better than DC
No drama much peace
Kind of nice to trade the sound of sirens for birds singing.
I'm so nosey wondering what business you do there every 6 or so months. I would have loved to spend my life as you have. Well, I think. Maybe I'm just dreaming. Beautiful flowers, tulips.
The Vasa was unbelievable such craftsmanship
That ship was amazing. Just beautiful. Thank you for the tour. We most definitely will be missing you on Tuesday.
Thank you for showing the ship museum. I always wanted to see it.
Thanks for sharing. I liked the ship in the museum.
Thank you.
Thank you for the great tour!!
Love your walk around Stockholm. Your tour of the Vasa brought back memories of my trips to Sweden. Love the lilacs.
Wow! The ship is amazing!
Being from Minnesota we have many Swedes and many, many lilac bushes.
Great video!
👍👍👍👊😎
Thanks Penguin have a great night see ya soon 🤗
I think previously you said you have an iPhone. If so, if you take a photo of any plant, then look at it in your Photos, there is an i with a circle around it in the bottom of your screen. tap on that and you can see what the plant is. Works with a lot of things besides plants like many of the monuments in DC, etc.
Amazing specimen.
Thank you.
Loving your Stockholm videos. So nice to see lovely city so clean a quiet. Not a lot of idiots protesting everything? I think the purple flowers are lilocs, but I could well be wrong.
Lilac Bush was the Purple Flower!
How cool is that ship!!!
The purple trees are Lilac and they smell divine
Can't even imagine the amount of noise 60 cannons would create
Wow! The flowers are lilacs! They are my favorite fragrance. I went to a small Lilac Festival today. The tiny town has a woman who cultivates lilacs and she presses the small petals for the essence. When I met her a few years ago, she was the only person in the world making the essence the traditional way. I believe she still is the only one still to this day She was featured in a magazine this year. My husband was a diver and instructor. Boy would he have loved to have seen the Vasa. That's surely was an amazing, impressive and glorious sight. I am loving your trip. I wish I were there too. Guess I need to find the assorted Swedish fish........still looking! Thanks for sharing #1 tour guide!
They are lilacs. I can smell them now.
Thank you so much, I really enjoy your tour. Have a great evening!
Very pretty area. Loved the boat in the museum....Thanks for sharing your walk....
Beautiful! Love all the trees and flowers :) Thank you!
great video
wow, that ship is amazing, such detail for something built centuries ago. The streets look so clean there unlike the trash we see along our streets. How long will you be there?
Lilacs. We have some in our yard.
The tree with the flowers like the purple ones (lilac, as another comment identified) is a chestnut tree…a young one.
How did you know about the Vasa? We, from U.K., visited a few yrs. ago. Wonderful. Not far away is the most interesting Diving Museum.
Welcome to Sweden 🇸🇪
Hello Mr P. Loved the walk in the park, the shrub with the perfume looks like the Lilac family. The tree with the cone shaped flowers is a Horse Chestnut, much beloved in England the nut of which is called a conker, and is encased in a prickly green pouch. the conker is brown, spherical and very hard. Even harder if you boil them, then thread string through them. They then become a weapon and challenge to all oncoming conker owners. The object being to demolish the conker of your opponent Who must dangle his conker in a steady fashion to allow you to use yours in three attempts to smash his, with yours. This used to be a small boys pastime in autumn, and a respite from playing marbles. This is todays peice of useless information. Love the ship, we have similar with the 'Mary Rose', Henry V111 flagship, that also sank not long after launch. Not nearly as ornate as Swedens fantastic relic.
Yes it's a library opposite the hotel. It's the "Royal library" (Kungliga biblioteket) which is tasked with collecting a copy of everything that is published in Sweden (including web sites - although that presents a bit of a problem). They've been at it for centuries. The main building is in the park, although they have storage all over the county. I lived not for off there for years.
lilac bush my mom's favorite
The flowering bush is lilac
schersmins are the lilac bushes you see everywhere at this time
Where is Captain Jack Sparrow. Thanks so much P6 this is wonderful, thankyou so much. Wish DC was as beautiful.
That is beautiful craftsman ship done on that Ship ,wow it is almost as big of Noah Ark .Just amazing that they saved it all after 300 years and I remember reading about this in High School and I believe it crashed into another ship -correct me if Im wrong -my memory stinks at 56 ...lol
In short: the master shipwright (project leader/"designer") died, the people left carried on following the finished plans, the King made demands for changes (more guns/heavier guns/one more gun deck) which made the design unstable, no-one knew how (or even that they had to) compensate for the changes, a strong wind made the ship list so much that the gun ports on one side came down to the water level, water flooded in and she sank.
@@dsludge8217 Thank you for that , it was well restored .
Those flowers are awesome.
Looks very clean.
Thats lilac
Beautiful!
It’s called Common Lilac
Stockholm in the springtime.
I wonder how many languages the ticket seller speaks????
Are the flowers lilacs? They look like them beautiful. I have noticed everything is brick. The city is so clean. I love the shipping museum . You learn so much about the people of the different times the boats were in use. Thank you Blessings 🌹♥️🙏🙏🤗
Lilac’s for sure (giggle) you crack me up. I remember the “All meat burger” you got last time. You should try it again. Great camera work.

Those purple flowers appear to be lilacs ...I have the same ones in my yard.
Seems like the purple trees are Chinese wisteria
Sirens bloom, including pink alpine roses.
Not sure of the tree but it looked like chestnut, probably horse chestnut as that is common in Swedish parks :) .
That was really cool n beautiful city
I have 1 question, do you get to write off ALL your meals as business?
