Hi, I've been in this field before boosters and when the alarm was the kill switch key in the fender. I have seen lots of amps suffer from vibration. the solder get hot, and the vibration shakes it right off and into other components. It happen to me once, and I noticed it on customers vehicles there after. I have also had the caps jump right out the amp on my motorcycle. Do to the sudden up and down movement. In that case they just soldered back in and all was good. This may be causing some of the problems. Amps don't like vibration, or heat.
Yea I know I did have rubber isolator bushings on them. You could really only feel a little vibration but a lot of people were telling me to build an Amp Rack, so I did and I still lost an Amp. Rockville told me on the phone that they had an issue with a bad solder joint.
you can tell the middle one is hotter probably cuz all the heat from the other packs on the middle you should look for different ways to mount them, it may help alot
+team louder I guess that's possible but I'm not so sure that's the problem considering the others were so much colder. I'm definitely going to keep an eye on it and I'll have update videos in the future
Needs fans. Most electrical things work harder and more efficient. Like when overclocking a pc, what is the goal, more power while keep temps under control, and stability. Its gonna hit harder the cooler you get them!!
I understand they need to be kept coolant I do have fans that I’ll be adding during my rebuild. However when you have 4 of the same amps and 1 catches on fire and the other 3 are still cold to the touch cuz they were only turned on for a couple mins, there’s another issue.
What type of camera or lens are you using? When you panned towards your wife's car, there was some weird "stretching" effect going on. I hope I'm not losing my mind. But back to the main topic... do you have enough wire to swap the middle amp with one of the cooler amps to run the test again? The others are closer to the glass and get more air current. But like you said... that's s pretty big temp difference so that's unlikely the case. But worth a shot if you have the patience and wires.
+Jericho Snaxxx Hey I'm not sure what's going on there. My camera is a Nikon AW100 which isn't that bad but I'll be upgrading in the future. I probably do have enough wire I just don't think that's the issue. I'm going to keep an eye on it making update video in a couple weeks.
Actually, I just figured it out after a quick Google search. If I heard you correctly, you said you have 4-M4s and 1-F2, correct? If so, the F2 is hotter because it's a Class A/B amp while the M4s are Class D. Class A/B is always going to run hotter than Class D (when comparing the same brands and wattage). Class A/B is used for full range and tweeters and the Class D are only good for subs. Hope that helps.
+Jericho Snaxxx Thanks. Yeah that's what the last guy said. I didn't even think of that when I was making the video but it does make sense. I'm still going to keep an eye it make to sure it doesn't get to hot.
i just bought a m4 cause of ur videos, and have them on 2 q power 15s... LOVE IT ... whats the best settings for thus amp on two 15s 2000watts each yhanks
+Jay Lindsey Hey man I wish you the best of luck with the Rockville. Input level will be specific to your vehicle and what your head unit is putting out for signal it needs to match, sub sonic I believe I had a little less then half way (around 11 o’clock) I was shooting for around 28 hz, Phase on 0, Equalizer was on zero and Low pass was around 10 o’clock which is probably around 75 Hz but on my head unit I had my crossover set a little lower.
+Jon Doe I absolutely love them. They are the best subs I have ever owned. I haven't had any heat issues with them. I'd definitely make sure you're not clipping. What do you think of the CAB 1600?
+Devon Kunkel Hey man thanks for watching. Go through all your connections, gain and frequency settings and head unit setting. If none of that works then I'd give Rockville a call.
+Devon Kunkel Ok that's not too bad. I believe those subs are rated at 1000 W RMS now I'm not sure how accurate that rating is but it may not be enough power at 2ohms. I have run all 4 of my NVX's off 1 of the M4's and it did alright but it was at 1ohm. I'm not sure how it sounds but you may just need more power. If you disconnect the subs and put a voltmeter on the amp what do you get for AC volts?
probably because one is a class ab and the others are class d. for the wifes care would pick digital designs usa line. even the 1500 tops many other brands flagship models. for the amp anything around 2k class d high efficiency. price range for that amp should cost around 500$ do lots of reseach
+indopleaser I have looked at those a little bit and they look pretty sick. Unfortunately I'm looking for something a little bit more budget friendly. Might go soundstream or might even try out Hifonics.
AmplifiedCarAudio How about these C.A.B amps everyone raves about? Cheap, stylish, and powerful. Check out BigDWiz at Old School Car Audio or Steve Meade's channel to see it on the amp dyno. 4K at .5 ohm. If I were restarting from scratch, that's what I'd probably go with.
+Jericho Snaxxx Those were actually my first choice when I was doing my build but they were sold out at the time. Thanks for reminding me about them. I'm going to check them out again.
AmplifiedCarAudio how about this one? This one did phenomenal on the dyno on their channel too. MisterE: Look at this on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/191746203237
+Richard Shavers It didn't make a difference. I had one burn up when it was just the amps on the ends and the one in the center so they had plenty of air space
+Alpha Omega Thank you for the suggestion. That amp seems pretty reasonably priced too. Thinking about running to 12s so I'm not sure if it'll be enough power though.
Ahh ok yeah you definitely need more power then. Im going to put my pioneer in my wifes truck because I just got the Orion XTR 2500.1 and the 1700.4 just wanting on a few sunny days in a row.
ok bro I like the setup keep up the good work basshead for life
+Richard Shavers Thanks man I appreciate it.
I just ordered one from audio savings I hope that I don't have any issues
I wish you luck. Let me know how it goes.
thats great man keep up the good work
+alex garrity Thanks man I appreciate it.

There's no way its getting that hot
I believe the melting point of solder is around 370°
Ya I'm not saying it couldn't happen because anything can happen but 370 degrees that's effing hot
for the Altima sound q high end component speakers in doors with a single 12" or 15" in a sealed enclosure
+Clayson Webster thanks. I'll have to check those out. Thinking about doing 2 12" in a ported box.

I'd put the 8 Rockville with a subwoofer and amp it's a nice set-up don't take up much room look good in her car
Put a fan on it
+EARDRUM ASSASSIN & BASS MOM Yea fans will definitely be next.
Try a 4th order box for the car.
I did think about that but it would take up to much room.

+Jay Lindsey depending on what your box is tuned to though you may have to tweak that a little but it should be a good start
My F2 is always hot....but I am running it at 1ohm....my M4s stay pretty cool for how low I have them wired...
+Brian Edward Oh damn 1ohm. Has if ever gone into protect?
how do u like the nvx woofers? I have 2 15's on a cab 1600. They sound great but get hot pretty fast.Might be clipping a tad idk.
+Jon Doe I absolutely love them. They are the best subs I have ever owned. I haven't had any heat issues with them. I'd definitely make sure you're not clipping. What do you think of the CAB 1600?
hey I have one of these amps and for some reason it seems like it's barely putting out power.
+Devon Kunkel Hey man thanks for watching. Go through all your connections, gain and frequency settings and head unit setting. If none of that works then I'd give Rockville a call.
Use skar evls at least
I have one rdx m5. I think I'm draining to much power. low voltage maybe
+Devon Kunkel What are you running for subs?
AmplifiedCarAudio. I'm running 4 pyle power 15s.
+Devon Kunkel How many ohms are they and what's your final impedance going into the amp
AmplifiedCarAudio there dvc 4 ohm and the final impedance is 2ohm.
+Devon Kunkel Ok that's not too bad. I believe those subs are rated at 1000 W RMS now I'm not sure how accurate that rating is but it may not be enough power at 2ohms. Skar
you have them to close need space for them to get air
+Richard Shavers It didn't make a difference. I had one burn up when it was just the amps on the ends and the one in the center so they had plenty of air space
Keep it simple with a Pioneer 9605 amp it sounds far better than you my imagine.
+Alpha Omega Thank you for the suggestion. That amp seems pretty reasonably priced too. Thinking about running to 12s so I'm not sure if it'll be enough power though.
It will give you every bit of that 600 watts for a subwoofer. As its CEA compliant.
+Alpha Omega I believe it. I'm thinking of running 2 NVX VCW 12" rated at 1000rms each. I might even just upgrade my amps and use one of the M4's.
Ahh ok yeah you definitely need more power then. Im going to put my pioneer in my wifes truck because I just got the Orion XTR 2500.1 and the 1700.4 just wanting on a few sunny days in a row.
+Alpha Omega Sweet. Yeah I'm waiting for some better weather too. We just got a foot of snow yesterday.
go two twelves in the trunk with the Rockville M5 amp.
+mike waters That's not a half bad idea. I've been wanting to try out the M5.
