I like the idea of doing the embroidery on a fabric base then attaching it to the bottom of the basket because it gives a lot more options for suitable embroidery designs. The information on how to get your oval shaped basket to the right dimensions seems like it will be very handy and will save a lot of trial and error. Adding the cork base gives the basket a really nice finish. Good info! Thanks!
Finally purchased my cotton rope. Now I'm ready to start sewing and embroidering. Thank you so much for such wonderful projects. You always inspire me and keep me motivated. I have been purchasing embroidery patterns from Embroidery Library since November 2007 and I have made so many of your projects. And when I get in a bind or need help, I always find the answer or solution on your website. Thanks again Jan
Thank you for this professional video. I was just browsing for embroidery, thinking I'd watch it for that. But now I'm thinking that I have to try a rope basket - - WITH embroidery.
Excellent ideas!!! I love all of these!! The cork bottom is pretty genius, and design-wise I love the oblong design and the addition of colorful fabrics!! Thanks so much for the great tutorials of these techniques. 👍🏻😁😍
great video. Glad to see different way to do the designs in the bottom. I've made 2 rope baskets and my machine actually stopped on me and had to shut it off and then back on. So this other way of doing the design will be a lot easier on my machine. Thanks for the tips
Thanks for another great video on rope baskets. I love the way you cut your bias strips. Looks much easier than what I was trying to do but how wide of a piece did you start with?
@@EmbroideryLibraryEL I guess I didn't ask my question correctly cause I knew the strips were 1 inch but I was wondering how much fabric you used to fold and get the 1" bias strips. It looked like around 1/2 yd but I'd like to know how much fabric I should start with.
We have another great video that goes more into the stitching of a rope basket: ua-cam.com/video/68QVVaJPwHw/v-deo.html We also have a short that shows the basket being stitched more clearly: ua-cam.com/video/Gqr1GX2NRL8/v-deo.html

Wonderful!
Great tips on making rope baskets and adding machine embroidery to them! Clear and concise instructions! The close-ups were very helpful! 🙂🧵🪡
I hadn't thought of adding the cork bottom. Protects your surface AND hides those stitches!! Thanks!
Great ideas and well executed. Thanks so much! I’ve never attempted any of this but want to. 👍😁

We did one inch strips for this basket, but it would depend on the project.

I can't find the embroidery file you used for the oval basket .
Here's a direct link to the Farmhouse Flowers Border: emblibrary.com/design/farmhouse-flowers-border-esp82044-1
Is the embroidery for the oval basket done first and then attached?
For the oval basket we stitched directly onto the rope base.
Hello, I love your video, please can you suggest me what sewing machine is better for work with rope?
It really depends! Many different machines can be used. We use a Brother Luminaire.
Show us the basket in the embroidery machine. Please.
