I was 8 in the UK in 1966. We always had the transistor radio on. Clearly remember Bang Bang, These Boots Are Made For Walking, Sunny Afternoon, Sunshine Superman, Good Vibrations and many others. Of course as a child, Yellow Submarine too. What a great year for pop music, when it was still very much a social phenomenon.
too many talented people 😍(!) but if I had a time machine to go back to the swinging sixties period, I would def choose Steve Marriott (the one pictured here), Tony Hicks and Beatle George ❤️ (it kinda surprised me that you didn't mention a Beatle lol)
@KieroUnasBotasAGoGo I was a member of an Official Beatles Fan Club when I was 11 yrs. old. We met monthly to open a box that arrived from Liverpool. The older girls were Beatle maniacs. They would fight about which Beatle belonged to who. I got my share of bruises if I dared say I love Paul🥴🤛
As a 17 year old l figured this was "normal " to have all this great music continue on.

Thank you for the retrospective. As a fan and collector, the music of 1966 comes out on top.
You’re very welcome! Working on part 2. Stay tuned!
1966 was when the album fully came into its own, whereas 1965 was when the 45 single reached its peak.
Would love to have seen Pink Floyd with Syd Barret on a Sunday afternoon at The Marquee Club !
Same here 👈🏼😊❤

It amazes me that this video leaves out The Creation's Making Time. It's a great song from a very underrated band.
They are discussed on the Freakbeat video a few weeks back. ✌️
Sonny Rollins and Ornette Coleman at Ronnie Scots on the same bill WOW id go there!
My eyes popped out at that on the page.
What a diverse music scene!

Very different guys but both talented!
@freewheelingideas true ... I like the tall silent type ... brilliant but not showy or conceited. 😄
