  • Our story opens with a military tribunal. A simple order...a man is to be brought to headquarters. So what happened to him? Where is he? As our story unfolds, we discover through the testimony of those involved in this order what, and why, he never arrived. Influenced by George Orwell, Big Brother, and his novel "1984", this live broadcast is chilling look at a dystopia society in the future. The early 1950's was the period of the Red Scare. This live television show portrayed a glimpse at what life would be under communism. Airdate November 2, 1952. Complete as aired with commercials for Hallmark Cards. Transferred from 16mm b-w kinescope film.
Cast includes William Post Jr. and Douglass Watson.
    Thanks @kengeorgejones6855

This is our lot while in the "keeping" of godless, self-centered men...human politics is nothing but a precarious stack of variations on this theme: If there is nothing but a calculated facade between any two people, how can there be an experience of loving 'sincerity' amongst millions?

A box of 25 Christmas Cards for a $1.00 from Hallmark, amazing. Things were a lot better in the 1950's, I can remember.

@@MoviecraftInc I've been trying to some find info about Hallmark Theater but I've been unsuccessful. Can you elaborate anything about it? For example, IMDb lists this as TV Movie 1952 Star William Post Jr. and no mention of Hallmark Theater. The only thing close in name is Hallmark Summer Theatre and it only lists a single episode entitled The Real Glory. Thank you.

The episode is quite a mystery. It seems this is the first year that Hallmark went from Radio to the TV screen. There is little documentation on the net, so suffice it to say this is an example of the transition from Radio to television for Hallmark. Hallmark Theater developed into the Hallmark channel we see today.

Hallmark continued to sponsor "HALLMARK PLAYHOUSE" {later the "HALL OF FAME"} on CBS radio (through 1955). The TV series began in December 1951.

And no one is responsible: it’s a tragic series of unforeseen circumstances and errors in judgment. And that is the way human decency comes to an end.

IMDB mentions a William Post Jr. That's the only credit they give. If any others are identified that will be great.

@@MoviecraftInc Someone mentioned that the private is played by Douglass Watson. Now that I look again I definitely would agree - it sounds exactly like him.
