I’m really excited to see what’s going on with Trip. The mural definitely implies a connection between her and those people with the emeralds. Looks like we could get some info on another civilization who used the emeralds. I’ve been wondering if she’s going to be be the final boss, or related to it.
Also seems that Eggman’s going to add another entry to his list of ancient evils he tried to control.
With her being a lizard, and the big boss a dragon it might actually be possible that when these lizards acquire all 7 emeralds they turn into a dragon, since its in the middle of the mural between the emeralds. Could be their "super state". That would be a fun twist I hadn't thought of till you mentioned her being a boss.

You say “the classic universe” as if it’s not apart of modern sonic lore but it was already confirmed that the classic games take place in the past of the modern games
Yeah except sonic mania that takes place in a different timeline confirmed in forces.
To be honest i would mind if they retcon it to an alternate time-line because it doesn't really fit with the modern one.
