- When ‘Get Out’ & every YA novel ever meets, this is what you get. The Invitation is not the best representation for the Vampire community but it sure is fun to make fun of.

honestly i loved it. walt was soooo mesmerizing but i did find my questioning why evie wasnt questioning this at all. like how she went to the front of the table to sit w walt at the end like she didnt think that was weird? or how everyone was marveling her and not the bride and groom that didnt exist? or how when vik was creeping around in her room and walt sudenly bursts in and she doesnt question that at all? those were the faults of the movie. other wise i really enjoyed it

It wasn’t bad. It’s like a guilty pleasure. U know it’s stupid and could’ve been more expanded on but u still could go back to it again for a good time if you’re drunk or something.
Pro Tip: Just watch the trailer, you will have seen the entire movie already!

I only saw a piece of it and I still enjoyed the movie. The ending tho...left me wit questions
I think it would have been an enjoyable change if Evie would have accepted her faith. It would have been interested to see her transition into her roll and finding out how the three brides get along especially their power.

An alternate ending could have been made. The director missed that chance.
@@jasonlarsen4945 I just think son of the best scenes from Van Helsing were the Bride scenes . Would have loved to see this as like an origin story. There were a lot of missed opportunities.
I truly enjoyed the movie, knowing it is not real, it reminded me of the old campy vampire movies I watched when I was younger. All the hissing, nice looking vamp with the pointy vampire ears. It was wonderful, they did a great job on bringing back the old school vamp days.

For some reason I was hoping that when Evie killed Dracula that somehow she would become the new lord and still retain his power and then go after the families responsible for providing the workers. But I understand when the head vampire is killed then all other vampires turn back to human.
The whole pottery thing was to highlight the wire she used to cut off his wrist, thats why it felt out place.

There were only several vampires in this film, Walter, Viktoria, Lucy, the late Emmalie, and Evie (whose vampire transition didn’t last because she seemingly killed Walter). All of those other families were human, but I wonder if they had some immortality because they served Walter.
I wondered that too, but I believe the families formed an alliance to provide the workers as a food source in return for wealth and safety. I don’t think they had any powers other than being protected by the VAMPS and being in the alliance. I could be wrong tho.
So..🤔...Her mom never told her that her family line was involved with vampires? Was her mom hiding her from them, under the radar?

Her mom probably didn't know. Evie was their absolute last choice, the family secret. They didn't want to have anything to do with her, but literally had no choice because she was the only remaining female in the family bloodline.
Her mother's lineage was basically disowned and forgotten about for a century until desperation and DNA technology brought her back to them.
I couldn't help to think of Prince Harry & Princess Meghan. And I recall the making of pottery being used in the movie "Ghost."

Enjoyed your review! Although I enjoyed the movie, you definitely bring up valid storyline holes and filming weaknesses. I thought the bat at the end did indicate they were about to go full NWA, lol! I give the movie 7.5/10. Looking forward to your next review!
My 2 cents: I think Evie’s pottery scene was to show the wire pottery tool and hint towards a possible believable method of killing the vampires.

The young lady playing Evie was gorgeous especially decked up in dresses wow, I watched it tonight, It was interesting, I thought it was gone have some bohemian grove type shi, flipped it on vampires.

I saw this movie aka Dracula already has two brides and he still needs a 3rd one on its opening night 😅🤣
*I think the following would have made the movie better:*
● If they had shown the vampires in true vampire/monster form when they killed the maids since their faces/bodies weren't even shown
● If they had shown flashbacks of all the vampires (Dracula, Viktoria, Lucy, Emmaline) before they were turned into vampires
● If Dracula ahem Walter had put up more of a fight with Evie
● If Evie had retained some vampiric traits almost like she became a dhampir at the end

I don't remember the character's name from beginning of the movie, but it seemed like the filmmakers were giving the impression that it was her making the attacks.

Follow-up comment: I enjoyed the movie because I love books but I agreed with your viewpoint of it. There were some things lacking for me specifically the bridesmaids were his other brides they didn't cast on his obsession with that specific bride or why a bat is she a hunter now? But brovo loved this.

This movie wasnt that bad to me. I do agree they had some plot holes. I rented it on Vudu and had to watch it again to understand the plot. I think they missed some key parts that could have been explained. Like did Oliver have anything to do with the ancestry DNA party Evie was catering at? Why did Walter need 3 wives? How long has this arrangement been goin on? Just a few questions I had. Other than that I loved the dresses she wore. Walter is very handsome as well, so I thought it was a great actor/actress choice.

Honestly they should have left the ending of her accepting that she's Dracula's wife informed and they could have ended worship her face warms into a vampire then they would expend it the series to where she finally destroyed dracula but I feel like they rushed it it was cliche but I me and my friends mom ended up likin the movie 🤣🤣

They had some good twists in the movie + the ending was surprising😊I'm watching the new Interview With The Vampire Series. It's more long, drawn out + detailed and will have a 2nd szn. Really enjoying the show despite the controversy of the Louis race-swap w' a creole man + the main protagonists now being bisexual. The actors are doing a great job + I like the incorporation of past creole culture + black history of NOLA. It's been years since Blade + Queen of the Damned. I've been waiting a long ass time for brown vamps 2 be back on screen.

Grace didn't travel with her. The movie, "Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin" was somewhat similar to this movie.

give lots of movies a chance even if the trailer does little to entice me into watching it. But unfortunately what this falls under is the on going agenda to be inclusive in movies. One problem with that I have noticed is they concentrate to much on the inclusion and the story suffers for it. The story was boring and there was no twist to it. It was obvious that it was a vampire movie but it just wasn't interesting. They tried to make it modern by putting a black woman with tattoo and nose ring texting and face timing her friend and then she kills the main vampire then turns into a female Van Helsing in the end. Lol it's just not cool. If people need a film with representation then they need to realize there is something wrong with themselves. It means you are not capable to appreciate other people's work unless it's from someone of the same race as yours. If it needs to happen they can at least make new stories with brand new characters. Not take old characters and swap them for different races. Other than that, this movie was not good at all.
Teen pregnancies are not in the rise because of one sex scene per movies, but because of puritanism, lack of sex ed, and no judgement available protection / birthcontrol.

The families are mostly human. That's why their able to eat human food. They just follow their young looking master. He provides them with bountiful gifts. A better and cheaper ending would be if Walt simply just snapped Evie's neck and entomb her for her insubordination. Then a dashing ginger rescues her and they fall in love. And the gingers sister becomes Walt's new submissive. So Dracula can have a complete set of brides. A blonde, a brunette and a redhead.
This movie was the worse of the year. All involved in the edit production side should be banned from wasting anyone's time ever again
Ugh...this movie was awful. Suttle jabs at "patriarchy" and "white guilt" "racism" blah blah blah...and then a rushed vampire ending that made zero sense. There's no way...NO WAY a newly turned bride of Dracula is ending Dracula and his line. Not happening. In a fight she's going down. Dracula is gonna be 10 steps ahead of her in every way. No way she gets the jump on any of them. It just stuck me as a "check out this under priveledged black girl and all her girl boss power as she destroys whitey!!"
Sad movie with a promising set up that didn't even come close to delivering. Plot hole after plot hole and wierd motivations. Girl you broke in to your hosts office!!! Way to illustrate how crazy and irrational a woman's snooping can be when it comes to a man she's Interested in....lol
Also validates him doing a background check. She fucking broke into his private room. So….yeah, kind of proves the need to vet this stranger/cousin.
