I just started this game, and I like how the game doesn't explain that warfare scales necro skill damage. Thank you for that small detail. I see now why my damage sucks. 😂😅
Easily. Lot of people have literally forgotten what a RPG game is and mostly it has dissolved into shooter with leveling system. This game is one of the purest RPG's out there
Really enjoying your methodology in this. My only critique is that, at the 2:56:50 mark, if you talk to Yarrow, you get a reward for completing the quest. Otherwise, good romp so far.
Thank you very much! I remember starting this run on the latter half of a 24 hour stream, semi unplanned, so the first 3 parts are surprisingly good :D
If you ever want people to stop from walking away while stealing. Use another Char to lock him in conversation. They will talk to them too and the thief can just walk away.
Thank you for this content I want to get good at these kind of games. I played this on the easiest difficulty and had fun but I want to play it again on normal. I had it on normal at first but it was too hard for me.
For the annoying dog on the ship : 1.Open his room's door 2. Go to the opposite room (the one on the right) and open its door + the second door at the bottom. 3. Go back to the dog's room and make sure that that room's lower door is closed (important) 4. Attack (barehanded) the locked door that takes you to the 1v2 fight) 5. The dog will startle and run to the second room 6. As soon as he moves, follow him and close the second room's door 7. Go back to the original dog's room and close the door too Now the dog will stay locked away and won't engage in the fight This is just in case you couldn't lockpick the door that leads to the fight. Because if you break it, the dog will engage. If it isn't broken, it can be closed and you'll avoid the dog entering the fight
Decided to try a similar sort of playthrough but with a 2h build instead, playing with Fane to really maximize my action economy and also purely to enjoy the beautiful way skills work together in this game :). I also did some things out of order, and ended up having to kill Griff's crew early with some Grade A cheese.
@@fyfsi3557 I was playing solo and I put beast in the tavern with all my lucky charm gear, got him drunk and put him into conversation so he stayed drunk and then I played the rest of reapers cove with the extra luck boost
Shackles of pain, in solo, totally "stuns" all the enemys for many rounds, since they can't attack you or they will damage their companion. Later you will encounter some enemies that doesn't care about that.
The curse of DoS2 Lone Wolf is that for every item you want to use that requires a single digit above your stats, you'd have to "waste" an extra point to wield it because you'll always operate on even stat spreads. Feelsbadman.
@@timothybrown2250 I prefer keeping my skill levels to never require gear for skill usage, as you'll quickly outscale the gear in the early game, and each level at endgame is pretty substantial. You're always looking for specific stuff and having to savescum every merchant every level when your whole party needs gear is selfish and makes the "town shenanigans" part of the game an even larger slog than it is normally.
Huh, it's good to see you're back. Necromancer and warrior - really can't go wrong with this one. Are you going to get the Resurrection Idol in the second area or is that another personal challange of this playthorugh?
Towards the end of act 1 and especially in act 2 this turned more into "do (and murder) everything" than a challenge, and I'll be doing some experiments in battles to get get max xp and thus, saving and re-loading, so Idol is kinda unnecessary for solo. I do get it, but I reload to keep the Blood Rose +1 permapuffs because those are lost on death.
i stumble on your video since is the only one min maxing exp, istarted a campaign with a 4 man team using your guide but i don t know my 4th character(using ifan finesse tank , sebille archer, Fane geo/pyro ) what you would suggest is the best 4? thanks
With a team of four, take The Red Prince as on of the characters, I believe there's a little extra XP on those quests - marginal, but for min-max :) As far as builds go, four man team works better, imo, if you focus on one damage type, e.g. all do physical or magic dmg. Other option, but less "optimal" because you split dmg, is to do 2 and 2 and then choose targets based on their armor values. I played my first playthrough with tank, archer, pyro/geo and aero/hydro. It's not optimal, but it was fun to have different options in fights.
Necromancer is the toughest early on when you don't have that many spells yet. Corpse explosion is a huge help and kinda why this build is even feasible early, together with the warfare skills. Some prefer starting solo necro as a summoner, which is very powerful early especially with lone wolf, and respec after the first island (lvl 13 or so) for "full necro".
Yeah, I wanted max damage and Flesh Sacrifice maximizes damage. Overall undead probably still more OP, especially Fane (but I didn't want to play with Origin character on this one).
@@Zemalf I thought an undead elf got Flesh Sacrifice too, but that must have been only possible through the mask of shapeshifting. Been years since I played this.
@@LumosX yeah undead only gets flesh sacrifice through the mask and it takes a bit to get it back (need to escape the Fort, defeat the witch), but you lose the head slot to said mask. If I recall correctly anyone can use the mask. Also keep in mind many/most/possibly all enemies have someone with loremaster so you’ll get hit with the Uber healing spells when playing undead, if they have them. Fane is superior to all, and you bypass his obnoxiousness when you play as him, but custom elf is the next most powerful and overall useful, and you get to use all the cool foods. (Undead do not get bonuses from food, they get only healing and only if you poison it first) Free lock picks doesn’t mean anything if you spec into thievery, and don’t do something stupid like get thief 1 & barter 1, instead going for thief 4 by lvl 3 ( lvl 1, lvl 2, skill up, item +1 from rogue vendor) Ever since it got released for iPad I’m having a blast. If anything it’s even more enjoyable now XD
I couldn't be bothered with all the micromanagement of a full party so I'm doing a playthrough with Fane as a summoner using the gift bag where you get Xtra AP

Yeah. Usually there's also cool secret spells which you can craft and they come from mixes of one's skill book and another's so the game is meant for you to mix at the very least 2 skills together.
Why author is using flesh sacrifice that late and turn 1-2 attacks do not have damage bonus? Monsters are disabled by warfare skills and are not attacking for 1-2 turns. One out of 2 can be often dead with flesh sacrifice. Just started this game, learning its mechanics :)
Flesh sacrifice should indeed almost always be cast first, because it does give that 10% extra damage, and during combat because it gives an extra action point. However, it does lower constitution, which might cause me to lose a shield (if shield has con requirements that wouldn't be met anymore with -con) and I want to hold on to the shield for shield throw skill. Or sometimes I prebuff it (cast before combat), so it's on a cooldown (but active for the first turns). Or I might not have use or don't need the action point right then, so I'm saving it, especially if the fight is in control (e.g. enemies are on knocked down lock). Or I might just forget :) Probably one of those reasons, depending on where I am in the game.
You mean the shield he found in the starting weapon chest at 31:20? The weapons in that chest depend on your starting preset, he chose Cleric specifically so that he would get a shield in that chest. He explains this while creating the character
At 2 hours 6 minutes or so you opened a cupboard that had a green rarity ring, a knife, hold and a letter. If you're gonna leave stuff lying around like that this will be literally unwatchable. /s
Fane's special (play dead) is downright broken when playing solo (gets you out of combat and you can reset cool downs). Undead in this game is quite special; Yes, you need to heal with poison instead of healing pots, but the other way around, you don't need to worry about poison or deathfog.
The Divinity series lore is kind of a massive clusterfuck. They're good games, I love DOS 1 to bits, but the lore seems to have been retconned a few times. Source used to just be healing water found in the Divine's capital while Lucian himself is trapped in the plane of hypnerotomachia by his adopted son (Divinity II, 100 years after DOS 2); then it became the divine magical power of the goddess Astarte which was contaminated by the Void Dragon (Original Sin, taking place a thousand years before the others); now it's still a tainted power source, Astarte is nowhere to be found, and the Void is no longer a dragon but there's eternals now and also 10000-year-old characters and ones that I personally killed in DOS 1, but are still alive, and Lucian apparently also has a real son now and fakes his death before he goes missing in Divinity 2 but also Source is purged from the world (canonically) yet is still present in Divinity 2 as a healing water a hundred years later. A true mess. And alas, Original Sin 2 feels as unfinished as Divinity 2, which just _stops_ at one point instead of having an actual ending. Good games, but my God, they should have done a better job. And they should finish Divinity 2 too.
Perhaps, but the point of my run was not to do something hard, but to have fun and make the most powerful character possible (in addition to doing everything in the game for max possible xp)
