Great information. I have been practicing this for five years now. I have plenty of fish for my family to eat! On the lakes I fish there are plenty of 9+ inch bluegills and all of those now go back. I keep 7-9 inch fish. Those are the best eaters!
I wish law makers would learn about this. There 25 fish limits along with new technologies are destroying our panfish fisheries. They need to reduce daily limits to 12 fish and put maximum size limit of 9 inches.

I agree, or just lower it to 10fish 9inches and under 2 over so people can still get that "trophy" but not clean out a weed bed.
So is the male dark all the time or only during spawn
