    I’ve followed MP since I began my business and have used only Flex tools because of his recommendations. It was expensive in the beginning but I am so glad I stepped into the pro tools as early as possible. Thanks MP I owe you brother!

    The Hercules is currently 99.99 for a 5ah battery, a charger, and the tool right now. It’s a no brainer if you just want to have a decent cordless rotary right now, I really like mine.

      I saw! So if you get and extra battery then the true total is $175 for polisher and 2 batteries and charger. Amazing deal!
      Our $200 if you want to do the special twice and get another free tool of your choice 😂

      @@brynrodriguez1258honestly for $100 it’s worth a shot to see if you like it. Harbor freight has a solid return policy as well if you don’t end up wanting to keep it. 90 days I believe.

    Picked up a 20V 5ah battery and rapid charger from Harbor Freight last week and got the same 7" polisher. It cost $100 for everything. Buy the battery/charger and get the tool for free. The battery charged in about 25 minutes.

    So question Mike. How come Ivan says that it's faster to correct with a DA and finish with a Rotary? Have you tried this method? What are your thoughts?

      I guess that's his experience? I like Yvan, I would never try to change his mind on how to do anything, he's a walking, talking example of success and living a positive life. Allow me to share my thinking, if you click the link below and scroll down a little way, you'll see the trunk lid on the 1955 Chevy Delray we used for a LIVE class last week on 8mm gear-driven orbital polishers. You can find that video here on the Dr. B's UA-cam channel under the LIVE tab.
      *Here's where I'm the opposite of Yvan.*
      For the most of the body panels on this 1955 Delray, I used the FLEX BEAST, an 8mm gear-driven ORBITAL to remove 6 years of wear-n-tear. (the owner told me the car was painted 5-6 years ago and this is the first buff since the painter did the sand and buff).
      For all the RIDS or *Random Isolated Deeper Scratches*, I used a wool pad on a rotary polisher with Dr. Beasley's NSP 150 to remove them. After removing these deeper scratches using a wool pad on a rotary, I used an orbital with a foam pad to remove the holograms.
      The above process worked perfect and is the FASTEST way to take this paint to showcar perfection.
      Sure, I could have removed the RIDS using any brand of orbital polisher - it would have taken longer.
      I always tell people,
      *_However YOU get to shiny is all that's important._*
      Here's the link that shows the RIDS in the trunk lid. I'll add the AFTER picture today.

      I would strongly recommend the FLEX PE-150 cordless Rotary Polisher. I've been using my FLEX prototype of this tool since 2017, before they were announced at SEMA and available in 2018 and it's always impressed me. -Mike Phillips

    So is 2 battery's enough for the flex for cutting?

    • @mikephillipsrealworlddetailing
      @mikephillipsrealworlddetailing 8 місяців тому +1

      On paper yes. The trick is to immediately put ANY BRAND of battery on the charger as soon as you remove it from the tool. That takes discipline. It can be done, but it's up to you. If a person lacks discipline or has other reason they cannot immediately put a dead battery on a charger than a 3rd battery for ANY brand of tool will come in handy.

      @@dillon599 - I would whole-heartedly recommend the FLEX cordless PE-150 Rotary Polisher. Best quality tool for the long run. I can't count how many cars and boats I've detailed with my PROTOTYPE of the PE-150. And - if you want to remove any worry about running out of power, purchase one extra battery. This will give you a total of 3 batteries when you purchase the PE-150 as a kit.

      @@grogers4277 well I just bought a DA found out it barely does anything to my hard Audi paint, so now looking at a rotary to speed things up. Rotary is more aggressive so you need be more careful. I'm still trying to find out if I can achieve the same speed with the DA so I don't have to buy more tools lol. I kinda wish I got the rotary instead of DA for the speed.

      @@scottyee707 fair enough. Do you have any pad and compound preferences for removing holograms with a rotary?

    • @DrBeasleys
      @DrBeasleys  6 місяців тому +1

      You'll need a super soft foam pad and great abrasive technology and of course great technique.
      Whenever I'm testing for holograms, the best test is to either use a detergent wash to strip off any oils, or use a Panel Prep, to strip the paint and then move the car into FULL SUN when the sun is high overhead and then inspect. Otherwise? It can be difficult to know for sure.
      I used to do rotary only detail work because back when I started the only available tools were rotary, cyclo and old school orbital, the kind where the handle looks like a steering wheel. Since then, more powerful orbitals have been introduced, with the most powerful being the FLEX XC 3401 VRG Gear-Driven Orbital Polisher. This WILL work to remove holograms out of hard paint using great abrasive technology and of course the right pad - usually a foam polishing or foam light cutting pad.
      This is where you want to dial-in your process via doing a Test Spot. -Mike Phillips
