Thanks for the video. On raspberry PI terminal YOU CAN ACTUALLY copy and paste: Use CTR+SHIFT+C keys to copy; Use CTR+SHIFT+V to paste.
Basically just add SHIFT to the normal keys you use in windows
Worked like a charm pairing to a Raspberry Pi4
Amazing, worked flawlessly! For other viewers: remember to enter the commands before the bluetooth device you're attempting times out
Good tip!
Very well done and clear as a bell video. Thank you for taking the time. It was exactly what I needed to do. Kudos!
Thank you so much! I had a USB keyboard, but only a bluetooth mouse. This worked perfect.
thank you. seems like all my electronic devices loves to take the long route when it comes to pairing,. but hey, at least i know the longer route works for sure than short cuts. thanks again.
Firstly Thank you it worked, but there is a however, I just got my first pi and didn't even think about mouse and keyboard. Since I am not fully inept I got it working with your help but you could include a short blurb about how to actually connect to the pi, I finally got in using PuTTY and few other pieces of software to find IP of my devices.
But again it worked so thank you.
Very helpful.... keep going like this!
Thank you very much for this tutorial It work. Well explain.
Hey Rick, I'm struggling to pair my Apple magic keyboard. When I run `pair ` it says that the device is not available. Could you point me in the right direction?
I've got the same issue
Me too. Any solutions?@@ledikemahlare436
I'm late, but try skipping the "scan off" command until verything else is connected
very useful and clear. Thank you
Very helpful. Thank you!
Great video! I have it working. Yet it keeps disconnecting. Which is weird because it works fine with a different OS. And it works on the pi 3 yet if I try pi 4 with the OS it connects then disconnects
I followed your video for my Logitech Mx keys. After "pair macaddress" I kept getting sent a passcode. You have to type it on the Bluetooth keyboard and press enter. Please add to you vid or make a pinned comment or something to help guys. Thanks dude!
Why am I getting a greens reen 1 quarter the way in?
thank you!
Hi, how did you connect to the raspberry pi from this computer to run those commands ? I am using windows PC.
This video should help but if you get confused by anything, let me know: ua-cam.com/video/tlY_78fiNa0/v-deo.html
THANK YOU!!!!
Hey, Im trying to do this same thing but with a Kali OS on my Pi3b. sudo bluetooth cdl is not a command Kali recognizes. Would you know the way to do this for Kali Linux OS?
I'm not sure. I don't have experience with Kali Linux.
@@Rickmakes I was able to use your video in conjunction with some other commands I found to get everything working. Thank you!
I'm having an issue with this would you help me?
Each time I pair it says "Device X Connected : yes" and then a moment later says "Device X Connected: no" for my mouse
For my Keyboard it comes up with "[agent] Passkey: X (788292 or something)"
I'm guessing the mouse isn't working after that? When the keyboard give you the passkey, try typing it into the keyboard.
@@Rickmakes the mouse works perfectly well on my laptop and yes I typed the code in the keypad also tried pressing enter afterwards it still doesn’t seem to work
@@caolindennehy2553 Check out this for the keyboard: www.correlatedcontent.com/blog/bluetooth-keyboard-on-the-raspberry-pi/ Look for the line "However, this command failed for me with a cryptic error message..." Try following the procedure after that.
I'm trying to connect my bluetooth keyboard to my raspberry pi but when I try
It says "AlreadyExist"
I get presented with a list of several dozen MAC addresses I can pair with- no names anywhere. I can't tell my keyboard apart from my neighbor's cellphone. I tried pairing with about a dozen MAC addresses so far but never identified my keyboard or mouse and eventually gave up. If have to keep a separate wired keyboard and wired mouse on my desk, the OS does not support Bluetooth.
Do you have another device (phone, computer, etc…) you can try connecting the keyboard to to help identify it’s MAC address?
@@Rickmakes I took the keyboard and my phone into the middle of a field and scanned for nearby bluetooth devices, so I can figure out the MAC address of this thing. The phone listed 20 devices. I have to drive out to the desert.
are you using mac os??? Or ibuntu
I'm using a Mac to connect to the Raspberry Pi via SSH. You can do the same with a PC or Ubuntu. You could also type the commands directly into the Raspberry Pi's command line console.
Does this work with any other wireless mouses?
It should work with pretty much any bluetooth mouse.
Blubberber bera blubber that's all I can hear I'm English slow down its like you're reading the small print from an advert
Thank you for the suggestion!
Adjust play back speed.
thank you!
You're welcome!
