Six Days in Fallujah Review tomorrow hopefully, if not definitely Friday, sucks when lots of potentially good games all drop within a day of each other, but for gaming it's awesome, we had a great Aliens game and now this, so if Six days is good what a great week for gaming.
God bless your bones for September Mack
How about battlebit remastered?
I'm looking forward to that one.
Are you ever going to review system shock remake?
The unlockable cheats is THE BEST form of replayability in FPSes, and I'm annoyed its not in many other games. New Game + was nice since Borderlands 1 but having a serious AND silly cheatmode playthrough in a game like this allows you to be as hardcore and as casual as you want, whenever. That's what games need to aim for in development. Dumb fun but with a good game loop backbone. Loving Trepang2.
That's why I always use trainers lol
I feel like Mack really needed a game like this right now. I hope he gets to enjoy more fun games instead of yelling "X-ray vision" while his blood pressure rises with another poor PC port.
We are still waiting for that system shock review. It's all well and good this complaining. Finally, a 90s game has been released, and he isn't even fucking playing it 😂
...just don't use the x-ray ability? I've never understood this complaint. Just choose not to use it.
@@lozg8887 When games are designed for using X-ray vision, they usually balance the game for its usage and sometimes lack other gameplay elements to make up for it like good spatial sound design or longer detection times.
console ports are a plague
You know the world is about to end when Trepang2 actually releases
I think Kingpin remaster has that crown.
@@buckiesmalls Star Citizen even

It's great, I've played their demo multiple times over the last couple of years when it pops up in the Steam fests. Definitely worth a download of the demo to try at the very least.
I wish all games had demos. Just so people can find out how the game performs on their PC. Although Steam is great at giving refunds, just as long as your log time is under one hour.
@@TurnerTurnip Ahh, the good old days of demos. I just try out a repack and if I like it enough that I don't want to delete it straight away, I'll buy.
@@TurnerTurnip you should try out software piracy.
Saw your post about losing some revenue due to this video being taken down for some time, hope this helps a bit. I don't game but like to listen to your videos to learn about what's happening in the industry. Thanks for all you do
The AI looks competent.
Anyone else feel that there have been a fair amount of good games coming out recently. Games that release (early access or other wise) well put together. Our pushback is showing results!
I played the demo back in the day. It had competent, sometimes punishing, AI back then.
hm? looks like it waits for u at one place
Ur joking right?
@@CodeBroRobJoking about what?
honestly not a terrible year for gaming so far, at least last year
The last fun shooter I played was the RB6-Vegas series. This looks like its worth a try
I concur, I hated how Ubisoft change RB6 to a multiplayer title. I might get this cause I am a fan of F.E.A.R. and Black.
This game is fucking awesome! He's right the gunplay is superb. John Wick meets F.E.A.R. is spot on. Thanks Mack I would not have known about this game except for your review!
This Game IS Heaven . A visceral single player shooter with ultra agressive enemies. I LOVE It. Oh and 60fps even on the series s.
A LOT of good game have came out recently. Last year was terrible but this one is shaping up to be great.
Only game I've enjoyed in the past year was Warhammer - Boltgun. But Trepang2 does look really good.
@@TurnerTurnip So you only like FPS
@@MMACinephile I also like other type of games. There really hasn't been any great first person shooters since DOOM Eternal. Boltgun was good, but I wish the graphics were improved. I'm not that fussy when it comes to graphics, but Boltgun graphics look like shit. Although the gameplay is excellent. Boltgun with modern graphics, would have been a near masterpiece
Us big lippers are eating good right now!
I played the demo for this game when it came out and played it on the hardest difficulty while getting my ass whooped. After a while I got the hang of it and it was really fun.
I wish there were more games like this and My Friend Pedro. I loved replaying that game over and over and trying to speed run sections with different weapons. Or challenging myself to play on hardest difficulty without slowmo. I can't believe we never got a sequel or follow up to that game
My Friend Pedro is the ultimate lips out 2D game.
Any more recommendations like those? (Must have physics on bodies)
“Trepang 2 is…. What a name…” had me laughing from the start! This video gets my thumbs up!
You've been Trepang'd!
'John Wick meets FEAR'
I don't know how, but that caused the game to just appear in my Steam library O_O
Why no system shock remake review ? Seemed like a game you would love Mack ...
All great old school games have cheat unlocks. super addictive collecting them. Timesplitters and Van Helsing where great because of this.
Thank you for your reviews! Concise enough to not feel like a marketing ploy, no unnecessary buildups for review points and humor to wrap it all up and keep my tiktok brain watching and entertained.
I've been tempted to buy this, think I will now.
Graphics looked ok from here 👍
Spot on Mack. Just saw this game release and here you are delivering your review. Keep it up!
now imagine if a whole team worked on this game not just 3 dudes
Don't forget about 007 Golden Eye after beating the game unlocking new stuff.
You had me at "no story"
Mack, have you ever thought of doing a video explaining the options in a game? Sometimes I get confused what to change when a game doesn't run well, showing a comparison once an option is adjusted/changed, etc.
I would advise you to watch a few "optimization" video's on hardware unboxed. Tim usually has those video's where he also explains what the settings predominantly do.
What they usually dont mention is which setting is heavy on CPU, or GPU resepctively. Because that can be of importance if you have a bit of an unbalanced system. (slow CPU, fast gpu for example).
In short, anything to do with geometry (draw distance, model detail, population density, ground clutter, level of detail) is CPU related.
Most other things are GPU related. So pick and choose. Hope this helps.
God this makes me miss F.E.A.R. Such an underrated game, incredible graphics especially for the time, genuinely great gun play, fun & challenging enemy types with A.I. that was no joke a full generation better than anything else on the market and then it's strongest aspect a truly engaging psychological/horror storyline that made you want to continue playing the story to unravel the mysteries you're experiencing. It even had a good ending. Amazing game. A remake of F.E.A.R. in Unreal 5 would be so cool.
This reminds me a bit of FEAR! Great stuff.
This reminds me that I need to go play F.E.A.R. again.
Mark , are you previewing the demo Final Fantasy 56 ?
This game has been developed out of love basically by a very small team, I'd guess with limited budget for voice actors and it barely had any maketing done to promote it, and still they managed to deliver a great shooter!!
Given the fact it has been pretty sucessful so far, I see a great future and a formidable sequel in the horizon. Trepang3 powered by UE5❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
What is it with Mack and having your lips out? I never do that at any game, lol.
he's practicing to become an instagram attention whore 😂
Will you review battlebit remastered? just released, made by 3 guys and better than battlefield :p 60k players online now
I will be doing it this weekend
I had picked up the demo the other day. Finally got to play it today. Watched Mack's video, bought it, and yup, money well spent.
Got me at the end there, mate. Bastard.
Been waiting for this all day 😊
Great to see mate, good to see a game within the game and re-play that harks back to having fun.
The graphics are good enough and the action is so fast and fun that it doesnt notice. Gunplay is so satisfying and I love the slow mo. Buy it and stick your lips out
Reminds me of a great game from the past, John Woo's Stranglehold, on, I think... Xbox 360? Like a modern graphics version - love it, going to check this one out, like a good blaster!
I hope the gunplay in Starfield will be this good. Bethesda have included the slow down time mechanics in their past games, so here's hoping...
I don't know... I don't think it looks bad graphically at all. The effects are great.
Any plans to play/review Battle Bit?
How’s the AI Mack?
This game reminds me of Soldier of Furtune back in the day , lips out kind of a feeling 😮
I still remember the sound of SoF shotgun... 😎
Man what a game!
I'd almost forgotten about that. Played the hell out of the second one back in the day
What are you talking about Mack, this graphics rocks !
Thank you for showing this game Mack!!
Mack says graphics don't matter. He's mostly right. Although some of these new indie games that look like they came out of the 8-bit or 16-bit era, are never good. And nobody will ever change my opinion. But the graphics for Trepang2 are definitely good enough for me. As long as the framerate is over 60FPS, I don't mind playing games that look like they came out of the PS2 - XBOX360 era.
Those indie games often don't even look as good as games from the era they are trying to milk nostalgia from. Back then developers would actually try their best to make the best of limited technology that they had and visuals in their games actually had some charm. These new pixel retro indie games look like they were made ugly on purpose.
IDKFA & IDDQD bring back so many nice memories!
Thanks lad!
I have played the demo when it came out and now pulled the trigger on the full release. I have only played the first two levels so far but holy crap... This game is absolutely insane! I'm playing on hard but actually find it quite easy. I have only died twice and one of those times I blew myself up with a grenade. I'm going to change to a higher difficulty but I'm having a lot of fun living out a power fantasy. I agree on everything you said in this review.
Ok so the only thing we need now is Matrix 1999 reskinned mode for this
This game reminds me very much of BLACK on ps2. Is it the same people?
He said the game is not that long, so how long it is Mack ?
Mack are you going to review system shock remake?
Looks like an amazing game! And the graphics are better than FEAR 2, so that should suffice.
Looks to play great as expected, a shame they didn't jazz up some of the more barebones elements from the demo such as the base etc
This comment seems a bit
MACK ENJOYING AN FPS will check this out
Severed steel was an amazing, overlooked game of this genre.
I played the demo and I was kinda disappointed. I'm not one to complain about easy games, but this game was EASY. Enemies are glass pea shooters and you are a fully automatic steel cannon.
Maybe I'll give it a try again and raise the difficulty if it's possible.
Looks so much like FEAR, I love it.
Didn't you have a little music clip about big fucking guns?
Who gives a f**k..
Please tell me we got DK Mode in 2023!
I’m in the habit of upvoting Macks videos in the first five seconds I watch them. They are that good. Always good. No use in second guessing it.
My biggest gripe with this is,
why no multiplayer? even if its just a super basic, simplistic one..
F.ex. why not slaughter around with a friend, survival mode etc?
All the elements are already there, so why not add it? cant believe this
who knows, maybe it can be added in later
@@Chambers36TheEnter I know that, but the question is dont you want multiplayer? cuz I look at this and think it would be awesome with multiplayer..
Even if it was just one mode.. just answer this, dont you think this game would be cool with a friend in multiplayer?
Dude the story is super cool... Very dark and sci-fi if you're into that sort of thing. I love how the story doesn't spoon feed you things either, you find clues and excerpts of dialog through the missions that let you know what is going on in the world and you figure it out through bread crumbs. They even have missions that you hack into servers and it becomes a wave defense mission, but each time you hack, you learn more about the world, what's happening, why these people want to kill you and why you're killing them. Are you the good guys? - spoiler - no you are not. The story is awesome.
goldeneye cheat unlocks were great to play for. seems the same for this. big thumbs up.
Reminds me of a game i would call one of the best fps. On The original xbox days. The game was called 'BLACK'
I disagree with what you say about there not being much of a story to this game - as it employs environmental storytelling incredibly well. It doesn't spoon feed the player the story and that's actually a good thing. Other than that, your review made me want to buy this game and I am almost finished my first Hard Mode playthrough and am loving this game. Nice work mate.
And I pissed my pants, thanks Mac!
System Shock review. When?
0:44 💯 Good graphics are nice. But gameplay, gameplay, gameplay. For me before visuals. Great review. Sorry yt caused drama with the video!
Thanks for the video, as always, Mack! Would be great if you'd let us hear more of the games you're reviewing. Often you give us glimpses of how good / bad they sound, but it's never truly enough imho. Cheers!
Mack, you hate X Ray vision, but are fine with slow motion and invisibility? of the 3, X Ray vision is the most realistic.
It's not about realism it's just about cheap exploits that ruin the fun
@@McGeezle na Mack always complains about immersion
The game gives me strong 007 Golden Eye vibes. I loved that game.
Is this pc only?
trepang2 sounds like a shareware puzzle game from the 90s
Mack at 4:25 doing the cultists sounds from the old Blood fps😂
Hey Mack, i know gaming has to be all about fun and gameplay like you say a lot of the time. You really missing out on: TrailOut (Best fun FlatOut arcade wrecking-racing copycat there is, beside Wreckfest wich is more kinda simulation-like) Soooo much wrecking fun (don't mind the cheap-ass lip-sync and dumb story), it's about fun and gameplay. Try it Mack ;) ! You'll probably enjoy that one. Thought about it because you like the arcade / action style gunplay of this game.
This might actually be my Best Game of 2023. It's got its imperfections, but it's just SO FUCKING FUN. Fear meets Doom Eternal meets Max Payne. Can't wait for the story DLC.
Survival mode could use a balancing pass with the hunger mechanic being a bit too exacting, and there's some QoL tweaks I feel could help the overall 'feel' of moment to moment play. But there's so much to love already, even if it's on the short side. I'm actually growing to prefer tight 6-10 hour campaigns with high replay value over 30+ hour slogs made to be endured once and then deleted forever. Trepang2 has a semi-permanent fixture in my Xbox Quick Resume, which to me is a better mark of a game's staying power than raw campaign length.
I wish more devs did this. If you're going to half-ass a story with terrible zoomer humor writers, just don't have a story at all
Been waiting for this game, dear lord I am excited for a good FPS single player
"I want them to know where the fuck I am!" 🤣
Proper lol'd at that; not one of those fake, internet lol's... an actual, fucking lol 🤣
Gonna pick this up during a sale.
Wish the game had Iron sights or ADS would make more immersive as can't stand just this over the shoulder crosshair thingy. Quake, Doom and Half Life all had ADS. This game is like World War Z's half baked 1st person option.
mayhem, unrelenting and unbridled mayhem, is what made Bulletstorm one of the best FPS games ever. to hell with a coherent story, just pure adrenaline fueled brutality
That reminds me, I need to play the Max Payne games again.
whats all this about sea cucumbers?
apart from the character models I think the graphics look really clean
The snow looked terrible.
1:18 Because of the wonderful things he does?
I hope he does a D4 review.
Replayability vs Endgame. Full disclosure, endgame activities, whether collecting guns/items or doing endless daily/weekly challenges, bore me to tears. I enjoy re-playing a campaign on NG+ or a harder difficulty or, as Mack points out, with cheats. I know I'm in a minority, nowadays, but doing the same few minutes of gameplay over and over again to gain a weapon that, then, makes repeating the same exercise easier makes no sense to me. As for collecting items or meaningless achievements that add nothing to gameplay, well, I gave up stamp collecting many years ago.
Lets have more games like Trepang2 with a core campaign that's worth repeating just for the joy of playing.
😂 I haven't even heard about *Trepang ONE!!!* 🤣
I was starting to think this project was canceled until recently
I went straight to the last difficulty, I want to sweat
Like he said the guy play looks very familiar to the F.E.A.R series. Makes me with I still has the old console and could go back and play it. Fear was so good. Spear gunning people to the walls lol
You not on pc?
YOU BEING Trepanged!!! haha
Max Payne meets F.E.A.R. Looks pretty good.
This feels old school.
Reminds me a bit of Max Payne with the dual wielding and slow-mo
When are we getting a System Shock review?
love you mac but -
theres one pistol, one smg, one shotgun, one assault rifle, a sniper rifle, a stake launcher and one grenade launcher, hardly a huge variety of guns, was massively disapointed with how few weapons there are.
