  • The first generation Lexus IS, also known as Toyota Altezza in Japan, is a midsize sedan and wagon for sale from 1998 to 2005. It had a front-engine and RWD configuration. A hatchback station wagon version was available for this model, known as the Altezza Gita in Japan and Lexus IS SportCross in other parts of the world. The IS 300 comes with Toyota's NA 2JZ straight-six, and manual transmission and limited-slip differential as option. The IS 200, available in some parts of the world, equipped a less powerful 2.0-liter inline-6 engine producing 155 horsepower. In Japan, the Toyota Altezza also was available with a 2.0 L straight-four (3S-GE) engine, this naturally aspirated high revving engine produced 210 hp. Double wishbone suspension is used both at the front and at the rear. This type of suspension provides good performance and driving comfort. This used car has stylish looks, luxurious interior, reliable engines and good handling provided by the FR layout. アルテッツァ ドリフト SXE10, GXE10, JCE10 #lexusis300 #toyotaaltezza #lexusis200

    I love how nobody ever mentions that the XE10 chassis was what birthed the legendary Gazoo Racing division in Toyota and that this chassis also birthed the legendary HKS Track Record Breaker series with the TRB-01. And that's forgetting it's BTCC heritage. Very underrated chassis in the west.

      It has a bunch of grip racing heritage, but that didnt pick up in the west at all. Everyone would rather drift the chassis for some reason. It's too bad in a way.

    Yes indeed that’s a fantastic drift car ! I think my favourite Mazda rotary drift car would have too be an rx4 sedan it’s just the right size / heavy enough to let it slide without too much steering input 🍌

      @@mobbdeep615 prob just angle kit, a koyo or mishi radiator, BC coilovers (maybe more suspension if needed)

      Get a Quantum auto ECU tune to correct the throttle response (only available on 2002-2005 cars) some coilovers with 24K front 18K rear spring rates, and a Tomei/Kaaz/Cusco clutch type LSD, a bucket seat, and some inner tie rod spacers to give you a little more lock. Those would be the most basic mods that I would do before I would even bother to drift the chassis, as stock it's too soft, throttle is too laggy, and the differential will tend to be very unpredictable for a beginner. These mods will make it more consistent and fun to drive, and make learning to drift much more enjoyable. Also, I must mention that this is considering you have a manual car. If not, find a manual one or swap yours because it's very difficult to drift an automatic without a turbo.

    Altezza is an Italian word. It’s pronounced like pizza. It’s not pronounced “Alltayza”

    IS200 viable for drifting or should I go for bmw?

    • @mazdaspeedg2380
      @mazdaspeedg2380 Місяць тому

      reliability has its perks but bmw has more power so easier to drift and get stuff done more expensive to maintain and keeping it running for sure
