no problem! and that’s awesome! it’s a really cool plant. I have a couple other prayer plants, not too big on them, but this ones SO much nicer! I’m sure you’ll love it!
I am in love with this plant. But I as well don't do well with prayer plants and I hate that but its happend 2 times and I got them when I just started as a plant mom. I have switched to everything organic also and a good fertilizer and they have great other products too is We the Wild USA. I have a Monstera and I broke some of it off 😢 but I replanted it and it's doing so much better i can't believe it! Lol! And since I started using it a new shute has came out!! I thought for sure I was going to be throwing it away but I didn't have to! It's just amazing stuff!. You may like it and BIOS. Have a freat one! 💚🪴
Today I bought mine 😍 it's not in the best shape ever but was the only one they had so I took it. I love these beautiful leaves. Thanks a lot for the tips.
Thank you for sharing!!! 💕 I have a fishbone prayer plant and I really love it! But I'm starting to worry about its leaves curling. It doesn't lack water so I guess it's the chemicals from the tap like what you shared. 🤔😅
Hey Michael 👋 I have a very old burle marx. And lately its begun to have no leaves in the center, but i can see its stems. Im worried that Im not doing something about this. Does it need to be divided? Or new soil? Its in a 10" clay pot and i water it every three daya unless its still wet. But in my dry house it could be more often. Have you come across this problem? What are your thoughts?
loved this video & your puns! what is the soil composition? you've mentioned mixture of potting soil and perlite and as someone who's recently joined this 'plant cult' I m not sure what are the proportions or alternatives. also, any tips for propagation? cutting and water propagation or separating roots and plating them?
Thanks for watching and welcome to the cult! haha. As far as portions... I’d say it’s probably 1 part perspire to 5 parts soil, but I also use a soil that’s got some aeration pieces in it. you just have to feel it. you don’t want something that’s super dense, but also, you want something heavier than just a bunch of perlite. As far as propagating, I’ve tried water propagating but it’s never worked for me, so I’d suggest dividing the plant. take out of the pot, and rip off some stems with roots, that way it’s already got an established root system and should jump back pretty easily.
Thanks for the video. Very informative. I got mine today. Since they like humid environment and do not need much light, do you recommend keeping it in the bath area? I don’t have any windows in the bathroom, but I can have plant lights, would that be too harsh?
As long as you have a grow light, I don't see why it wouldn't work! I keep mine in the shadows right below a window, so it barely gets any light, and it's doing great. Just watch it, see how it does, if the leaves start look burned it'll need less light, but if it looks sad and droopy and leaves just fall off, you may need to move it somewhere where it gets natural light.
I have a red herringbone prayer plant losing its red in the veins on new growth... any ideas what to do? It's been away from any bright lights for 2 or 3 weeks and no change? Any ideas?
Help pls, mine is causing trouble 😩 Suddenly the leaves were curling up even though I sprayed, kept it from direct sunlight, used distilled water etc. So I divided the plant, put them all in glasses of water and they recovered. As soon as I put them back in (moist) soil, the curling began again. What’s wrong?
Well, the leaves curl almost exclusively from watering issues, they curl with too much and too little water. But if you’re keeping yours moist, maybe it’s a little too moist for the plant and it needs to dry out a bit more between waterings. I’d try that first and see if there’s a change.
Unfortunately no, not that I know of. The only real way is to divide some of the rhizome. There aren’t any nodes on the leaves or stems themselves for roots to grow from. I made the same mistake when I got mine. My mum wanted a “cutting”, and I’d already potted it up, so I ended up buying her her own, hahaha.
Well if they’re not curled, it could just be a bit of overwatering, or if the leaves aren’t yellowing, maybe a lack of humidity. Mine did the same thing this month, and then promptly died completely. lol. Im still a bit confused as to what happened.
@@michaeljohnhalse i got it yersterday and watered it today when I noticed the leaves dropping and soil is dry, like when these plants needs water they act like drama queen and look like they are dying drooping and when got water it up leaves after. Maybe because it needs to acclimate to my room ?
@@florianedintimille6983 oh yeah! okay you’re good then. mine did that once I brought it home too. they’re definitely one of the more diva-y plants I’ve had. lol
It sounds like it’s getting too much light, do you have it in a brighter spot? I’d try moving it to a shadier area where it doesn’t get direct sunlight, and maybe spritz the leaves with a water bottle a couple times a day just to get its humidity up.
Yes, thanks so much for doing this! I'm getting one from a friend soon.

Great video! Is it possible to propagate these by cuttings? I promised my friend to give her a baby plant after I already repotted mine 😅

@@michaeljohnhalse I have 15 feet away from my east window. It doesn't get any direct sunlight.
CreatedwithHeart hmm, okay, it’s not the sun, so I’d say try watering it more frequently, and give it a good drink each time.
