In today's video I take a look at the incredible career turnaround of Atlanta Falcons running back / wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. Cordarrelle went from a bust on the Minnesota Vikings, to a short stint on the Raiders, a glimpse of greatness on the Patriots, a few seasons on the Chicago Bears and then his breakout on the Atlanta Falcons in the 2021 NFL season.
He wasn’t ever a bust. Coaches for whatever reason never utilized his talents properly.
Plenty of guys dont reach their potential due to a lack of proper usage, it doesnt disqualify them as busts though

He was by far my fav receiver in that draft class. So glad to see him revitalizing himself. Sad but so true and it has been that way for years how these coaches don't know how to utilize players skills to their strengths. So many great players have been in n out of the league because of terrible recognition for a players unique skill that can be extremely effective.

i agree he’s one of the best returners and great offensive skills he should’ve been used as a rb from the start and we would’ve seen him be a lot better than what he already is
He’s not a bust. Even though he was drafted as a WR, he made his mark as a great KR. Plus his years in Minnesota were when Adrian Peterson was the whole offense and Christian Ponder was the QB. Then Diggs, Theilen, Rudolph, and Jarius Wright were the go to receivers once AP was injured then let go.
I love seeing Patterson play. So glad to see he's in Atlanta!

He was never a bust IMO, Minnesota never fully used him as WR but loved him in any kinda gadget play
He was NEVER a busts.The only bust was that he wasn’t a traditional wide receiver He’s not even in his prime. The Falcons don’t have a lot weapons whatsoever so Cordarrelle is doing everything. He was doing the same thing at Minnesota,, Oakland, New England and Chicago! Those other teams just had more talent.
Mmmm yes and no, this video literally shows you example on why this other teams didn’t know how to use him properly, he did have his moments here and there but nothing like what he’s doing in Atlanta, stats don’t lie

Always loved him in Minnesota. He was never a bust, Norv Turner never used him effectively. Before Norv got there, he was used effectively as a gadget player. After he got there, Norv tried to make him into a traditonal WR which was the worst thing that they could have tried to do with him.
It should also be mentioned that he was All Pro as a Bear as a gunner/jammer. Nobody wants to deal with special teams til its time to deal with special teams. #versatility

If I was a coach, Patterson would never come off the field when the offense had the ball.
He was a bust because he didn't try. The guy is insanely talented but was satisfied with just making the team. He said this himself during an interview.
It was cool seeing him finally play the way we knew he should. Side note, he was the greatest special teams gunner in nfl history while bench riding for the Vikings.
