Awesome looking bike, I have the H20LT, it’s a fun bike. I have also changed the wheels and tires, the OEM definitely holds the bike back in speed and weight. I installed the E*THIRTEEN CHAIN GUIDE ADAPTER PLATE for the crank protector without the chain guide. Orbea has their own chain guide, that you would have to purchase, which is too expensive just like the toolkit.
Hey ! Very nice bike :) Would you say the suspension is supportive or more plush ? When you stand up to pedal between two corners on flatter trails, does it sprint forward ? I'm looking for a bike that is poppy and playful, reactive more than cushy, but with the extra forgiveness that a 120-130mm rear travel bike can't provide :)
This bike loves to be pushed hard! I would say the suspension is not plush and it is VERY playful and poppy. One issue I did have was the fox 36 fork tune was pretty soft so I had to add additional tokens to stiffen up the mid stroke.
@@mtbct Ok thanks ! So like I've elsewhere on the internet, it rides like a 120-130mm trail bike but with a bit more travel for drops, jumps and small rough sections of trail ?
Hey Buddy, i saw your video before i got my occam. Actually i had the exact same problems with the pivot point like you. Do you still ride the bike? Did the loctite finally fix the problem? I tried everthing to fix the lose pivot screw and the noises it makes but nothing works. Could need some good advice.
Absolutely, I found the fox factory 36 tune to be a bit non-supportive when deep in the travel. I added 3 tokens initially then swapped them out for a MRP ramp controller. Haven't had an issue yet and can change the support based on the trails I'm riding.
@@mtbct sounds good to me. Have you considered dsd runt instead? Somewhat similar, but with more midstroke support, rather than ramp up at the very end.
What's your opinion on Hunt wheels? I've been considering buying thier All-Mountain wheelset to replace Ibis S35/Nukeproof Horizon combo, not sure it worth the expense.
Personally, if I was given the option. I would save up some more funds and purchase some "We are one" rims and mate them with I9 hubs. They will last for a very long time. I'm not saying the wheels are bad, and for the price, you really can't beat it. But for my first set, I should have gone all out and did some more research.
Thanks for a helpful review here - I'm looking at a good deal on this bike and can't decide between L and XL. I'm also 6'1, with relatively short torso, long legs, long arms (arm span 191cm, / 75in) inseam 90cm/35.5in. Any thoughts based on your own experience and dimensions would be great to hear.
Hey Rich, I personally like a 475-485mm reach that the LARGE size frame offers. Makes the bike more playful when maneuvering through tight technical trails. The XL option will probably give you more stability at high speeds (bike park) with its longer wheelbase and 505mm reach. But that is a big jump in reach between the two! I would suggest going to a Orbea bike dealer and atleast sitting on a large and XL to see which one feels more comfortable. Hope this helps.
@@mtbct Thanks, appreciate the insight. I've rolled around on a L and XL and feel firmly between sizes! One more question - did you notice any "imperfections" / inconsistencies in the mat black paint? One I'm looking at is in this colour and they say it's normal for the mat finish carbon frames to look this way. Difficult to get your head around spending on a new bike if it doesn't look perfect!
Great video man. I picked up a ‘22 Occam M30 LT a few months ago in the mulberry color and love it so far.
Lookin' good!
Thanks Orbea! 🤘

Great video. Which stock headsets did you put on? I'm going to buy the same bike, so good to get it as best as possible right away :)
Thanks, I put a Cane Creek Hellbender 70 series on the bike. The orginal headset lasted about 6 months
I have a 2012 Occam can't get my myself to ride anything else the geometry is perfect
Hi, have you had any problems with the pivot bolt after you loctited it? How did you find out ut was loose? Did it creak?
No problems after the loctite. Yes, there was some creaking and noticeable play.
Thank you for the info!@@mtbct
Hi!
I read on reddit that's bike isn't poppy. Is it easily do bunnyhop on Occam LT?
It's pretty playful, definitely easy to bunnyhop.
How long is the stock dropper post ? Cheers 👋
I think it was 150mm
@@mtbct that’s total crap for a size Large 😣

@@erikd6124 Nope I didn't. I might get a Spectral at the end of the year though

I used loctite and it seemed to fix the issue
I see you have MRP Ramp Control. How do you like it? Worth getting one for heavy riders ?

can we know the weight in this config please ?
If I remember correctly it was 31lbs. with carbon wheels
