Welcome back to the channel! Just got back from a road trip to Tennessee and the first video release is for Vee Hollow, located in Townsend TN! This place was a blast and I can't wait to return for another spin. Vee Hollow is a pedal-only bike park with 14 miles of single-track ranging from beginner to advanced trails. It also has a jump line practice area along with a skills area! I have linke...

How long is the stock dropper post ? Cheers 👋
Congratulations, you know how to skid
Great video. Which stock headsets did you put on? I'm going to buy the same bike, so good to get it as best as possible right away :)
Hi, which free hub option did you choose for the hunt wheels.. they don't list a microshift option. Thanks
Seems like way too much climbing for only a little actual downhill. It's like they padded the mileage by just making it turn a lot :/ But good job navigating all the features!
🤝🏾🇺🇸💪🏾🫡
Looks like a fun place. Might have to move closer..! 😂
oh man that place looks awesome! perfect place to break out the ebike! laps for days! :) good stuff. :)
Dude! You guys were FLYING!!! That was awesome!
Yep, no fumbling down the trails here. We were on a mission to clear everything.
Nice riding. What kinda bike u got?
When I filmed this video, I was riding a Kona ESD. Since then, I have changed to a few others.
Just hit the jumps. Please stop with the little handle bar flick
I'm glad you liked to video 🤘
so sick, definitely have to head here for a ride. my brother and I ride south western CT all the time and have been looking for some more cool trails!
Such a great place for sure. I'm planning on another trip to NY soon!
Looks like a great spot!
Where is that
2000. I have the same except blue/white. 99 had a different seat tube bracket. I have one of those too, it's my daughter's
It literally said 3000 on the frame....
@@mtbct I'm not sure what you're getting at. I know his is a 3000. The 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 is a model indicator of what level component groups you got.
where?
I have the 27" version of this bike but the same colour frame as yours when the 27 was supposed to have a grey frame. Weird!
Those big slabs look like nothing on video, but man, they’re huuuuuge. Especially that second one. Good stuff, my dude!
Thanks, some people just don't understand until they get a look in person!
@@mtbct there’s another one near one of the climbing trails the splits two trees that’s just as insane. I forgot where, I’ve only been there once, but some of the features there are just nuts.
@@DennyJannettyMTB I have heard of that one. It's on the list when I make it back!
Hey Buddy, i saw your video before i got my occam. Actually i had the exact same problems with the pivot point like you. Do you still ride the bike? Did the loctite finally fix the problem? I tried everthing to fix the lose pivot screw and the noises it makes but nothing works. Could need some good advice.
I used loctite and it seemed to fix the issue
too bad they don't sell them in Poland
Just finally rode there for the first time, and I'd say these are some of the best trails I've ever ridden.
That is awesome! That network takes wheels. Hopefully, you were running higher pressure than normal.
@@mtbctI've been blowing up so many wheels lately. My back wheel was already bent when I went. I did end up getting a flat. New set of Berd TR30 wheels going on tonight.
You should go to Cockaponset State Forest in Chester CT
I'll put it on my to-do list for sure!
Thanks for a helpful review here - I'm looking at a good deal on this bike and can't decide between L and XL. I'm also 6'1, with relatively short torso, long legs, long arms (arm span 191cm, / 75in) inseam 90cm/35.5in. Any thoughts based on your own experience and dimensions would be great to hear.
Hey Rich, I personally like a 475-485mm reach that the LARGE size frame offers. Makes the bike more playful when maneuvering through tight technical trails. The XL option will probably give you more stability at high speeds (bike park) with its longer wheelbase and 505mm reach. But that is a big jump in reach between the two! I would suggest going to a Orbea bike dealer and atleast sitting on a large and XL to see which one feels more comfortable. Hope this helps.
@@mtbct Thanks, appreciate the insight. I've rolled around on a L and XL and feel firmly between sizes! One more question - did you notice any "imperfections" / inconsistencies in the mat black paint? One I'm looking at is in this colour and they say it's normal for the mat finish carbon frames to look this way. Difficult to get your head around spending on a new bike if it doesn't look perfect!
What trail?
No name, off the map
Was it old saybrook
Old saybrook
I rode that for the first time last year lots of fun .
Such a blast
You guys need to come back and try warrior princess aka tswizzle! It's the other double black next to bruce lee and has a lot more rock drops
We rode the lower/end portion of that trail. But yes, we definitely need to get back!
@@mtbct yeah, the lower portion is cake compared to the beginning!
What bike is that?
Giant trance X and a Trek Fuel ExE
🔥🔥🔥💀
Great video! Thanks!
Smaug's is definitely not a Black Diamond Expert trail. Techy Blue at best. Totally doable. I like to say Keg Roller is your reward for enduring Smaug's.
I just relay what trailforks has it labeled as and I totally agree with a blue rating.
@@mtbct Cowles is maintained by the city. If they called Smaug's a Blue trail and someone got hurt, there would be liability on the city's part for the label. But labeled as a Black Diamond expert trail and someone gets hurt, they were warned. Silly lawyers.
Hey Jason, when will we see you back ripping on the ESD?
That frame is up in New Hampshire with its new owner. Next spring I'll be back down for another ripper at Vee Hollow!
Where is that
Bluff Point, Groton CT

Wow, this is a fun and cool riding video.❤❤
It seems like your opener is Woody Hill. Which is Rhode Island...
Great observation 👍. I've ran out of Connecticut places to showcase, so you can say I get around.
Nice is that the rock roll by 165?
I'm not sure.
Awesome, I need a tour!
Absolutely
Nice editing!
Thank you!
Good stuff, can't wait to get up there again! :)
Thanks for making this review. It was very helpful. As someone who rides 50% on road, would you recommend any upgrades that could make this bike better for riding on the road?
Thanks for the comment! Definitely some less aggressive tires. That's really all I can think of.
Where I live I can take a walking trail and then I’m right on Outback/Olivias
I do this trail alot as its in my backyard. Trek Roscoe 8 FTW!!
I just picked up last years model from Poseidon for 550 with tax. It was part of their last chance section, with an additional 100 off using the lastchance code
Great deal 👌
Once you changed the wheelset crankset and tires you're around 1700 total cost 🤔
You don't have to change the wheelset but that's where all the weight is coming from. So the choice is yours 🤷♂️
Great edit Jason! Loving the mix of tech, flow and trails side features. Your VO narration is very helpful and informative. TN is on my bucket list for sure.
Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it. I went for a more guided ride in this video. I have a few more coming from the area as well. Watch out for those soon!
Rough time frame when this will be open to the public?
I'm not even sure of the conditions at the location currently. I'll update you when I get a chance to check it out this season.
@@mtbct sweet man looks great
Nice!
Hey dude, how you liking the bike today?
I ended up selling the bike after the review. The bike was fantastic for gravel but I couldn't stay out of the woods! Spent a lot of my time on my other bikes instead.
The trail system there is amazing. Excellent job on the edit!
Place looks awesome
Thanks, Dewey! Wanted to give a proper video of the network. One that shows it all and how to navigate!
