His helper put the batteries on charge and unhooked the strap that mated the batteries together for the 24v power. So now he has to hook the battery cable back up 😱 I love his content but I imagine he could be tough to work for at times.
Quality ..... She's Alive ... and holding air... i've found disconecting batteries always seems to make em last / hold a charge even if there is no mini electrical drain on them ... could well be psychological lol peace
slight addendum on two chargers: you can connect each charger to each battery without removing the strap connecting them as long as it's got a 2 pin plug. As soon as there is a common ground, you need to determine if the negative lead is connected to the ground pin of the plug, otherwise you're creating a short between the lower pair of the two chargers' positive lead and ground. I don't know how common it is, but I own one charger where this is the case. Luckily it just shuts down with an over current error instead of hurting anything. This is VERY common on equipment power supplies like computer supplies though, and modifications are required if you want to run them in series.
When I first saw a 992, I said I need one with forks, then I saw a v900 forklift, and my lust switched to the V900. Then 2 decades later I worked on a 994, Wow, that is what I want now, A994 with forks.
@@HOWEES I had not heard of a 994 until now. Looked it up. Wow! 530,000# operating weight. 60 ton payload weight. If you could find the forks you could set an M1 Abrams on a shelf.
that's the smartest business tactic i've heard of in a long time. mix stuff around during downtime...I'm gonna apply it in my yard. thx
One that did that trick haha move things around the yard once in a while to make it look like big stuff is going on😂
Always enjoy seeing to old iron.
That wrench is big enough to use as a hammer to get the terminals on lol 😂
That scraper in the background needs a start up.
The early Traxcavator seat frames... as if a blacksmith hammered out an arm chair. 😅

Noticed the bigger wrench suggested... Very good idea 😅. Good video from an older, wiser man

Good job my big boss 👍💯
Boy I mechanicd on a few of these old 988 loaders back when I was a pup.
Big wrench equal starter - battery tool!
Sweet rig.
I drove one for 9 years moving heavy plate steel when I say heavy 6'x5'x5" thick 1963 988 cat
They were great machines except for the bladder brakes! I worked on many over the years ..
I'm thinking you should have gotten a bigger wrench.😂
Exactly! How do we follow now?
Hate to say it, you might need to take more trips up and down the machine for more exercise!
I feel bad for the nuts on those battery terminals
Get a 992 then we'll talk. 🙂. Just kidding. Cool machine. Thanks

Can you do a walk around of the paddle scraper I saw in the background?
does that have a D8 engine?
Much love. What year is that one? Looks old enough to not have electronic bs and sensors to go into limp mode lol.
1973
Interstate makes the absolute best batteries ive froze em over charged em left em upside down even and they always come back to life
Was that the engine or him breathing?
Der Schraubenschlüssel ist genau so unpassend wie das Tupee 😅
Real hair, the wrench is left in the loader, because it fits the transmission fill plug.
