Anyone ever realize that Al never remembered who Jimmy was when Lucky mentioned him at around 2:56? After everything they went through he just forgot about Jimmy..
Lucky and Al used to come to Hot Springs to 'play the ponies' and do business. I met a nice elderly lady at one of my doctor's appointments there. Her father owned a hotel and Mr. Capone and Mr. Luciano used to stay there. She said she remembered being 12 or 13 at the time, and how glamorous everyone seemed. That hotel is gone now, like a lot of the great buildings from then.
It shocked me a little when Luciano referred to Jimmy Darmody as "the jerk off Nucky Thompson iced" when Al couldnt figure out who he was talking about It may be that too much time has passed and Al really did forget. Or it was the cocaine that affected his memory. Either way, it shows how quickly those that died are forgotten in the criminal world.
Al's desk, next to the elephants...... Al's desk next to the elephants!...right!..... Al's desk next to the elephants! Since when does it take a village to put a simple ornament on a desk......(next to the elephants?) lol haha
Al Capone was too big a target. Not only was he arrogant? But also stupidly flamboyant, I was more respectful of Luciano, at least he wasn't a loud mouthed wannabe, although I liked capone's demeanour? I have to say that he was handling his authoritative position rather.....poorly, his men seemed like idiots aswell.
Yeah, I know, but still, being a crime boss requires the entire circle to be low key, like how Capone beat up that reporter who wanted him to "give-a-statement" and for that other guy who he beat in the bar for simply mocking one of his employees. Blood is bad for business, draws way too much heat and puts the family "on-the-radar"
The days were good for the mafia during the "don Calo" era. But as time passed, no one seemed to care about organised crime, which is understandable due to the fact that at the end of the day, everyone wants to go home to their wives and kids, sleep comfortably, enjoy life and have as little worry about it as possible.
***** Actually Luciano had ties to La Cosa Nostra even through prison, and even once he was deported back to Italy he was a strong figure. Not to mention Luciano became almost as big of a show off as Al once he came to power as well. It was few that actually managed to keep it Low-key. Guys like Gambino and Lanksy were they few that excelled perfectly at this with little to no flaw.
It was kinda a raw deal Luciano was offering Capone, he never really left Chicago until he was sent to prison out of state in '31. So they wanted him to pay into an organization he didn't need for protection in cities he never went to.
The most famous gangster vs really the most powerful one. It's something how Capone has been so popular in pop culture yet his reigns lasted not very long. Yet Lucky not only created org. crime in the US, not only was he the genius that came up with most of the concepts, he also was the most successful one and lasted the longest of them all. Was nether arrested or assassinated. Died of old age in Europe.
he got arrested what the fuck are you talking about ? he got arrested and sentenced to 30-50 years for prostitution but then helped united states in WW2 and got out but got deported to italy then died at the airport when he went to meet a director who wanted to make a movie about him. dont talk when u dont know shit but yes, he was the real don of them all

@@simonloliong8075nope. Look at the clues in the show, Torrio left right before that hit came on Al, shortly after Torrio gets hit. Then it’s found out Torrio was helping Lucky and Meyer with the Commission, and when they didn’t need him anymore, they told him he was out
***** Because the guy he's talking about ( Mueller) is a stiff guy and the phrase cigar store indian refers to a wooden statue of a Native American that advertisers use to promote different types of tobacco products in places such as cigar stores typically. Lucky was referring to how stiff the guy was, posture wise, because he couldn't remember his name .
Al was suffering from early stages of dementia on the count of the syphilis I saw it on History channel he spent his last days apologizing to the men he murdered in the St.Valentine Day Massacre .

Really makes me realize this show didn't hit its stride till near the end. This show would've been great if it had gone all the way with the build up to the reorganization of crime in pre-war America. Sadly we don't start seeing that till seasons 4 and 5, and by then the show got canceled.

Or it could just be a middle finger to the actor who was rumored to be kind of a dick.

Al capone was real boss of bosses . None of the other bosses were pulling money like Capone . Regardless they both were very good friends in real life.
What they left out was the real Nuckey never was killed. Did 5 years for tax invasion and got out to live comfortably as a counselor to both politicians and gangsters still. 😎
Yea but by that point in the show it had been 11 years and 16 years after this Al Capone died of syphilis that gradually deteriorated his mind to the point he had the mental capacity of a 12 year old so the theory is either he just doesn’t remeber him cause of the amount of time that’s passed or because of his deteriorating mind

Jacklyn Demon he didn’t think highly of the way they operated
The way Luciano said “growing tomatoes” at 0:19 😂
Toemaydus lol
Lucky and Al used to come to Hot Springs to 'play the ponies' and do business. I met a nice elderly lady at one of my doctor's appointments there. Her father owned a hotel and Mr. Capone and Mr. Luciano used to stay there. She said she remembered being 12 or 13 at the time, and how glamorous everyone seemed. That hotel is gone now, like a lot of the great buildings from then.
Best scenes were always lucky and al.
Al Capone and Charlie Lucky Luciano are my favorite mob kingpins of all time
"where the fuck is Mueller...yo Mueller...."
If they make a solo Lucky Luciano Movie i want this guy to play Luciano..its sooo perfect
It shocked me a little when Luciano referred to Jimmy Darmody as "the jerk off Nucky Thompson iced" when Al couldnt figure out who he was talking about
It may be that too much time has passed and Al really did forget. Or it was the cocaine that affected his memory. Either way, it shows how quickly those that died are forgotten in the criminal world.
I think it was the cocaine or syphilis
Lucky was just different... and the guy that played him should get an Oscar
i always come back to this video every now and again.
"He pinched me back in '21" 😂 how time flies.
Al's desk, next to the elephants......
Al's desk next to the elephants!...right!.....
Al's desk next to the elephants!
Since when does it take a village to put a simple ornament on a desk......(next to the elephants?) lol haha
Since an arrogant emperor was born
I love this scene so much. Al's temper is on a hair trigger.
The way they spoke about Jimmy broke my heart. One doesn’t remember and the other calls him a jerkoff
Facts. He was my favorite character
It was kinda a raw deal Luciano was offering Capone, he never really left Chicago until he was sent to prison out of state in '31. So they wanted him to pay into an organization he didn't need for protection in cities he never went to.
And that's why Capone fought the NY mafia from 28-30.
Died of old age in Europe.
he got arrested what the fuck are you talking about ? he got arrested and sentenced to 30-50 years for prostitution but then helped united states in WW2 and got out but got deported to italy then died at the airport when he went to meet a director who wanted to make a movie about him.
dont talk when u dont know shit but yes, he was the real don of them all
one he died in Italy 🇮🇹 second he did do time like 24 hours mayb a day an noon he didn't have the longest reing Arcardo had it from 1936 to 1992 bro no jail time thatz mr Joe's batter im talkin about my bad I mean Joey bosa grandpa 😉 ooo yeah that joey bosa all star 49ers all star
@@clafeborne1114 I meant he lasted the longest of that crew. But you're right, Tony Accardo had the longest reign of all time as a crime bosses.
"i challenge you to fisticuffs"
Season 6 ... By order of the Peaky Blinders
I keep coming back to watch this scene something about it! This show had incredible dialogue between characters! They could have ran this show 15 season if they kept Jimmy and Richard in the mix awhile longer. Rothstein dying between season 4-5 was a huge bummer for me.
I love how subtle they tell you Lucky was responsible w Al for trying to hit Torrio. Torrio was looking at his tomatoes when the attempted hit came
No 😂 the irish did that
@@simonloliong8075nope. Look at the clues in the show, Torrio left right before that hit came on Al, shortly after Torrio gets hit. Then it’s found out Torrio was helping Lucky and Meyer with the Commission, and when they didn’t need him anymore, they told him he was out
"The cigar store indian" LMAO!!!!
bec..
@@psafety9355 seinfeld had one in a show hilarious
@@psafety9355 im navajo and i think im gonna start using that lol thats a hilarious description
Al was suffering from early stages of dementia on the count of the syphilis I saw it on History channel he spent his last days apologizing to the men he murdered in the St.Valentine Day Massacre .
Legends has it the ‘Desk - Elephant relay race of 1929’ is still going strong today
Anybody noticed how Capone's goons would bark his orders as they did them?
I kinda pissed me off that al Capone didn’t say anything about jimmy
It seemed like he didn't even remember him which was sad, since they were once partners and made on hell of a team.
Yeah well syphilis can fuck with your head.
It’s to show how full of himself he had become. Plus Jimmy was in the beginning. And Al had been through way more wild shit after their team up
Lucky Luciano such a boss. Only one talking to Capone like that at that time.
Stephen Graham is the fucking don! What a lad!
Desk, elephants
DESK; ELEPHANTS
DESK, ELEPHANTS
"Theres better ways to do things" the match that lit the fire that pave the way for the mafia.
You know a show is great when in every comment section of every video someone says " This character is the best" and its about a different character each tiime
I always hated that they referred to Jimmy as “some jerkoff that Nucky Thompson iced”. Like damn that’s messed up 😂
Well he did clap Jimmy's momma sooo... lol
@@TheDistantman true 😂
The subtle jab from Luciano over the Empire State building - "this one pokes up higher" - a lot more going on in this scene than you first realise
Luciano was the godfather! Such a man
I wonder how al Capone felt when Luciano became the boss of all bosses and made the commission while he was locked up
Luciano always disliked boss of the bosses that why commission was made
@@Grim_reaper758 Yeh he disliked the title, but the reality was he the defacto boss of all bosses
"WALLACE BEERY?! WALLACE FUCKING BEERY?!"
Really makes me realize this show didn't hit its stride till near the end. This show would've been great if it had gone all the way with the build up to the reorganization of crime in pre-war America. Sadly we don't start seeing that till seasons 4 and 5, and by then the show got canceled.
Luciano proved you don't have to be flashy to survive
Im not even going to lie but Americans are great at producing movies, The best filmers.
I'm not sure it was that Al didn't remember Jimmy, I think he was just surprised that Jimmy was brought up.
Godzilla52 I kinda took as him just acting like he didn't know him cuz his time as a low life thug and johnny's bitch were over. He remembers jimmy just fine, he's the main reason he got his start cuz without him they wouldn't have robbed those guys in the beginning of the series. Or it could just be a middle finger to the actor who was rumored to be kind of a dick.
That and it probably had something to do with that he had cocaine addiction as well as neuropsyphilis, that played with his brain.
It’s rumored Al Capone’s lost diary was on his desk next to the elephants
"I don't give a shit if he sold ice cream to escimos". I like that. I'm gonna use that
love this scene. they should have made a spin-off with Luciano and Capone...fucking show was way too short, but I'm guessing it had something to do with lack of information. guess they used up all the info they had and wrapped it up. Meanwhile bullshit soap operas get like 20-30 seasons smfh.
I really loved Vincent Piazza's portrayal of Luciano in this show, he was the epitome of cool Italian gangster. Loved that tough guy strong NY accent of his.
"I got him off dean o Bannon he was selling flowers fuckin steam irons" (gesturing the irons with ralph) LMAOO then later he kills Mueller he says "this whole time....the shit with the irons" lmaoooo
2:15 would've been funny if he said Tulsa. Since now he's in Tulsa King.
"... Growing tomatoes."
Delivered so cool.
“Jerkoff Nucky Thompson iced”
At the end, no one even remembered the “New king of Atlantic City”
Luciano shoulda had a show of his own.
Much as I loved the Actor, he looked nothing like Al Capone lol. He was short and too light haired. Al Capone had a VERY distinctive look thats hard to forget so when I saw this dude I was like? Really.?
Now. The dude playing Luciano gotta by hands down one of the best portrayals and likeness I've seen in a long time since Jamie Foxx played Ray Charles.
Throughout all of Boardwalk Empire, no one even once said, "Myah, see?". I feel cheated.
How could Al not remember Jimmy
plot goof
cigar store indian!
-- This is so accurate for Van Alden
Al be like "no one fucks with me now"
Al capone was real boss of bosses . None of the other bosses were pulling money like Capone . Regardless they both were very good friends in real life.
such a great show
"It's not less. It's more."
This guy played a great Luciano.
My desk, next to the elephants.
Al's desk, next to the elephants.
On the desk, elephants.
Desk, elephants.
The Outfit, like the state, became very bureaucratic
What they left out was the real Nuckey never was killed. Did 5 years for tax invasion and got out to live comfortably as a counselor to both politicians and gangsters still. 😎
It was always weird to me he acted like he didn’t know Jimmy
2:55 Capone knew Jimmy Darmody from Season 1. Called him Jimmy Irish.
@@conmanreloaded4249 Ok great point. Although the event you indicate was not depicted nor inferred in the series, and the series was not based 100% on actual character events. Like you said, maybe he forgot about Jimmy...
theGameGuy that’s a fair point it’s never mentioned in the show but given the show accurately depicts other activities he had such as his drinking, cocaine addiction, and at least One scene depicts him getting uh.....serviced by one of Johnny’s girls his whoring is there too so I don’t think it’s too far of leap to assume show Al is on the same path as historical Al after the series ends. Although now that I think about it in the context of the show his substance abuse could also explain him not remembering Jimmy if he doesn’t have syphilis for what ever reason
2:17 "Nucky Thompson's not Italian." Ironically Steve Buscemi who plays Nucky IS 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Irish.
Al wasn't about to talk about his buddy, Jimmy with Maranzano's Fuckin Messenger Boy! 😂
Stephen Graham is such a fucking powerhouse of an actor!
legend has it that Empire State Building Statue is still making its way to the desk next to the elephants XD
Got the scars on his face working in a bar in his teens. He kept hitting on a gal with her own company and the guy cut Al`s face. Oddly Big Al let it go, later he even gave the guy a job. He felt he was in the wrong about getting fresh with the dame. Go figure.
The guy behind Stephen Graham (Capone) actually looks more like the real Capone.
LUCKY the mastermind boss of all bosses !
