    You're just full of it! And by that I mean much wisdom LOL. Even though you managed to recalibrate on your well marked 2 lane road, I had to go to a superhighway just North of the city. They just finished this section not long ago and the lanes were well marked, including an HOV lane. I went safely from lane to lane, driving a few minutes in each one. About 15 minutes later the icon indicated calibration complete and I received a message that I could now drive on Autopilot. Just like factory now! Thanks for mentioning the multilane method.

      Safelite is trying to charge me $900 for calibration . And this other company only charges $992 for windshield and told me I can calibrate it myself

    So I gather we’re supposed to perform the calibration on a well-marked road, *_and in daylight_* perhaps preferably in bright daylight? That, since the side cameras don’t have as much benefit from headlights.
    Well, hmmm, I just noticed that you calibrated successfully at night, so perhaps it doesn’t matter…?

      From what I understand, it works based on the road. As long as the road has good solid lines it should calibrate.

      @@BigCVlogs, good information for when our Model Y comes in! Thanks.

    Thanks, i just got my windshield replaced by 'certified' safelite and they said they don't calibrate the camera. Now that i know its this easy, no wonder they don't bother. They were about to calibrate camera's on some Honda Ridgeline but couldnt because it had aftermarket wheels, funny but it makes sense, stopping distance and radial size matters for AEB. Poor guy has to go to dealer and get OEM wheels installed just to calibrate his camera.

    Thanks for posting this video! How did you enable the multi lane?

    Hi BigC. I just got my 22 model 3 on 8/19. Drove home from the Tesla store and after about 20 miles my auto pilot was working. But the lane departure was not. I went to the supermarket and noticed that the backup cross sensor was also not working. I made a service appointment and the Tesla mobile unit was coming to my house this morning. Well. They changed the appointment for Friday the 26th. to bring the car in for service. Luckily i was able to talk to a service tech this morning and he told me that 131 miles is not enough to calibrate the cameras. He said to just keep driving longer. I started to get very disappointed and sad. This is a very dangerous safty issue. when you spend almost 60 thousand for a car you expect everything to be working when you leave the dealer. My 2018 GMC all the bells and whistle's were working when I left the dealer. It shouldn't take that long to calibrate the cameras. But I will take his word for it . Will see. I hope he is Right.

      Very interesting. I have heard of it taking longer, and I do know when the car is brand new it is a bit longer, but as much as you have drove yours should of calibrated. Have you tried to reboot your system? Holding down the 2 scroll wheels for 30 seconds, and then seeing if you can recalibrate and see if it works? I just had an issue 2 days ago with the WiFi in my Model 3, it would not connect when I came home. Did the little reboot trick and it connected right up afterwords.

      @@BigCVlogs no. I didn't try to reboot. But I talked to a second tech and she saw all the settings I have turned on and told me to turned the auto pilot to Bata. If it doesn't resolve the problem to keep the appointment for Friday. Will see !

    I have been stuck at 80% for 3 days! I have to get on a highway or something with better lines because this sucks!

    • @BigCVlogs
      @BigCVlogs  Рік тому

      You may wanna hard reset your Tesla, I made a video on doing that recently. (Not just holding down the 2 scrolls wheels, you have to turn it off and wait 2 minutes)
      That worked for me when mine was stuck.

    Was the first ever camera calibration (for brand new car) equally fast?

    • @BigCVlogs
      @BigCVlogs  3 місяці тому

      I'd say no, the first one takes about 15 miles or 20 minutes or so. The first one seems to take a little longer.

    We just had our new model 3 delivered today and are disappointed at the visualization. It's nothing like the rental car we tried out. I can only see vehicles in our lane. Do you need to purchase FSD in order to see what your screen shows after calibration in this video? That is what we were expecting to see. The FSD beta is turned on. Maybe it needs to be recalibrated? The car only has like 40 miles on it.

    • @BigCVlogs
      @BigCVlogs  Рік тому

      Check your settings. There is a setting for "display FSD visualizations" make sure that is turned on, on your profile.

    god damn i love you for this.... my windshield is cracked badly and needs replace and Safelite sent me an email saying i will need my camera recalibrated after the replacement and the last thing i want to do is bringing my car to Tesla Center to get it done after my windshield fix. I'll try it, hopefully the 2016 Model X model has the same calibration process as yours

    best to calibrate your cameras at night or daytime?

    • @BigCVlogs

      I personally would think Daytime is better, but I have calibrated at day and night and never saw an issue.

    Just got my 2023 Y everything works fine then had update on car now nothing works have to bring car into service and they have the nerve to fn charge me

    • @BigCVlogs
      @BigCVlogs  9 місяців тому

      That's very weird... With a 2023 everything should be under warranty unless you somehow drove over 50k miles already. What happened in the end? I know sometimes they show a price but don't charge since it's covered under the warranty.
