Thank you for this wonderful interview of His Holiness the Dalaï Lama! His words are comforting and He has deep wisdom! This is so comforting or my mind and heart hearing him!
the dalai lama a man from a small village has a more open mind and progressive attitude about gay marriage than many many ppl living in the modern civilized world....let that sink in your skull for a second.
Even Dalai Lama can be wrong on some subjects, like Hitler could be right on some, the definition of democracy do sound`s good, but Im yet to come cross one that work out the definition, seems like money always rule, not the people, for democracy to work we would all have to be Buddhist monks or close (on the mental plain) or the lower ego will rule not the higher self, like it do with materialism, to have a open mind, you need to be able to think critical for yourself (The Trivium: Grammar, logic and rhetoric) not base our wives on the person (ad hominem) where ever its in a positive or negative form "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it" -Aristotle
Interesting that you say that because the traditional system as it was in Tibet was one of serfdom where people were serfs to the Dalai Lama of the time. It was voluntary serfdom but still psuedo-slavery and definitely as far as you can get from democracy. Currently Dalai Lama however is a man shaped by his experiences and persecution and I respect him greatly. He is full of love. I'm not so keen on his links with the rich and famous and the way he is bankrolled though.
Swiss or just ISS, is the home of the former Sovereign Military Order of the templars (just look at there flag and there history with the jesuits) and like SWeden they where also "neutral" doing WW2 beside home to some of the riches banks of Europe and CERN, you don't want any chaos amongst your populous in the control Center of your operations, so you give em a basic unconditional monthly income (2K $ citizens salary) and let anybody who have served in the military keep there weapons at home afterwords, the country don't look anything like the rest of Europe, but they do sell nice Herb medicines if you want to avoid the Phamakiea the rest of us have
I agree with what he says @ 24:50 about inner value. If everyone in the world took some time to reflect on who they are, how to be at peace with themselves and to think before they re-act to others, I think the world would be a kinder place.
The way Larry King speaks n asks questions and his body language has made him a layman in a spiritualised manner even though he says he is a year elder than HH The Dalai Lama.
Wow how many wise and revolutionary answers in such a little time, what most impressed me is the subject of change when he mentioned about the 4 eras in China in 1 century? Or am I wrong? That brings many thoughts and reflection about the same political, economical, religious and social methods, systems and processes we are using in occident, they are obsolete. Fortunately in Ecuador many of these pending subjects are getting transformed Greets from Ecuador
I agree with the dalai lama. Freedom of choice, freedom of love, freedom of peace of mind, freedom of experience, freedom of opinion, but just know that your opinion has matter.
Life is not about freedom except us freeing ourselves from being on Earth instead of finding our Way back home to Heaven. His giving his blessing to homosexuality is outrageous.
Insane how few views this has, it may just be an interview, but.. It's the Dalai Lama man! It's terrible how we prefer to watch a cheap music video, rather than to listen to our spiritual leaders and such, even if we may not share the same belief, we can still learn.
Agreed. It's always a challenge to approach interviewees and subject matter w total unbiased state, but more often King even asks questions that are prejudiced in some ways.
I'm not sure if I'd wish him long life or a speedy reincarnation. On one hand it's reassuring to have a few sane people going around the world, telling people "Hey, be nice". On the other hand his reincarnation will be quite the event, and I don't mean just the inevitable shitstorm, but finally someone proving that reincarnation works. That's bound to provoke some re-evaluation of our commonly held beliefs and worldviews.
I think anyone meeting His Holiness the Dalai Lama is a little out of their depth. At the end, Larry King says:" You do not bow to me. I bow to you." That is respect and I think His Holiness knew it throughout the interview and was not offended. What a shame that the Chinese government did not realise what a treasure they had with this man. Had he influenced China, then that country would be a powerhouse for good. Seeing this interview was a moving experience. Larry King gave His Holiness ample opportunity to speak. That makes him a better interviewer than most.
+Anni Pfan its the fact that he has an introspective view of himself and humanity. people MIGHT spout the same things he has said, but never really believe them. his views are purely on the basis of humanity dictates humanity, and whether or not they prosper relies entirely upon the masses as a whole. he is in summary saying that unless humans can see past the garbage of our reality and look at a bigger picture we are doomed. he says this in the most positive outlook possible. believe in the value of others as well as yourself - even if you think this is what you already believe in i can tell you that humbleness of yourself is priority and the first step to truly believe in others
the interviewer was expecting some profound insightful words & quality answers but he can only repeat mundane answers from the past, western media put him on such high pedestal... ah, politics.
his English is very poor,he has that "worked in a Chinese" style of speaking that's hard for us to understand.he comes off bad in this interview, very generic answers "its your own business".i think the pope or equivilant has a lot more over this guy,he's really out there like.he's like a comicial character
Every spiritual leader or philosopher of different religions has their say. Generic answers those may be, but those are foundation of the whole existence of humanity. One more thing, people belong to different parts of the world, I mean it's not easy to learn different languages other than your mother tongue, so language or oral expressions should not have any bearing on the essence of the conversation.
Hope faith, I think he is very profound in most of his answers, fewer words for the good understanding, when he talked about the economical systems, he said it right, it took me more than 20 years to figure it out, the problem is not in the system. Then about gays he said it right again, if you believe on a certain religion you have to follow that otherwise you will live in a duality, however if you do not believe in any religion you must satisfy yourself and the gay marriage is complete not my business, I loved that. The only bad thing in gay marriage is the hate of the people who do not agree. That is the big difference between Budism And the res of religions, beside that Budism is a way of living
People follow the Dali Lama, however will not follow Jesus who Die for this world and rose again. He gave us the wisest book the Bible. If this man does not believe in Jesus he will end up in hell. This is the truth. Only One Way To God and that is through Jesus Christ. Not the Dali Lama.
Matt Mcandrew Shitty subtitles make me lose my focus on what they're talking about. But also.. "I'm children's Angie become like sensual violence" :)) Cannot stop.. laughing.. stupid.. subtitles.. robot.. generated
i am truly blessed and happy to see lots of good response and love for Dalai lama ... thankyou guys u have made ma day

Very informational indeed. The Dalai Lama somehow reminds me of Yoda.
Trelaquix, wisdom and inner peace are distinct characteristics that are unfortunately absent in a lot of productions.

Actually if you listen carefully it's more heavily influenced by an Indian accent although there's is a slight eastern element to it too.
