INDIA - Darjeeeling, Sikkim

We are located in West Bengal, a mountainous region of India reaching up to the peaks of the Himalayas. On a steep mountain ridge, at an altitude of 2134 meters above sea level, lies the small town of Darjeling.
The city was established during the English colonization, as a strategic point to control the pass between neighboring Nepal and Tibet.
The city is dominated by the majestic massif of Káčaňjunga. This third highest peak in the world and the highest ever in India, reaches a height of 8598 meters above sea level. Its name can be translated from Tibetan as "snow fortress with five peaks".WEB: www.montanaclub.cz/
