I've notice the KE Tactics take into account fighting in a 3D Space form the get go while CDF Tactics tend to begin in a more Linear (2D) Formation. KE tactics allow for their ships to bring more of their firepower to bear against enemies vessels. Plus you add Jump Inhibitor tactics to the mix and you can isolate the enemy into kill boxes. An enemy ship trapped in a kill box either out right destroyed or by the time they manage to escape they are so horrible damaged they will be out of commission for several battles to come.

I think 1Z came down to mentality, really.
1A being taken before the battle crippled COA morale, but there was also the KE knowing what was coming next, and choosing to go out swinging instead of giving in.

    • @GetBrocked
      @GetBrocked  2 роки тому +6

yeah that's a very good point.
CDF/Rider battles have been very linear. With the meta mostly around "win via destruction of the enemy vessels"
while KE are much more flexible in the their approach.
I'm sure the COA have learned a very valuable lesson today. We'll see if they take it forward.

My god the coalition got outplayed here. You'll never see things like this in star wars where jumps are for long distance only, and not short distance repositioning. Stellar work by the Khan's Enclave.

KE trowing there best punches forward. I like how clear the inhib strat was. In person it was hard to notice what KE did.

The Inhibitor Strategy was masterful. It prevented the enemy form using traditional hit and run jump tactics. This just goes to show how powerful a weapon a jump inhibitor really is. Going forward it will be critical to stay in formation and every ship needs to work as a team to eliminate the enemy. Go off on your own or get separated from the squadron and your odds of survival drop.

This was our first time against a new type of play style, the inhibitor made it impossible to ej to clear out the ships from junk inside, this was a very valuable lesson

Wow...just...Wow...Not to be an armchair quarterback but I got a feeling that they underestimated the power of an Interdiction Cruiser. Those bastards can really mess your day up if you are not careful. If i were Alliance Brass, after this battle I'd really start forming specialized squads made for 1 purpose: Kill the Interdiction Cruisers. Cause it feels like once those are dead or at least their jump drive disruptors are killed then battles will be leveled. I could be wrong but that's what I'd be considering XD.

I've watched your first 2 eps of this playlist, and all I can really say is you are a hidden gem in the UA-cam haze. I love the roleplay, the storying telling, and the epic space battles thus far and I'm on the edge my seat with both excitement and suspense watching. Love the hard work and dedication, I'll be sharing your channel with friends, and I hope more stumble upon your channel.

Just saw the previous episode, and I must say... I actually think that the CDF building a battleship was the right move, even if it was threatening the Eternity. Couple reasons for it.
First was as a showstopper in the future. Recall at the end of the previous season, the Leviathan mobile FOB was the lynchpin of the CDF's final battle, and was only stopped by a foreign ally of the Riders as well as a sizable chunk of the Rider Fleet. With the Eternity out of the picture, any future conflict with the Riders will be over much quicker, particularly if FOB-Battleships were produced in numbers.
Second, was as an anti-Earth Deterrant. Admiral Mallard made clear that the CDF was not willing to accept Earth back into the picture, as they had built up their own lives out here and felt like Earth abandoned them seventy years earlier. Suddenly, here comes a ship that is capable of taking on entire battle groups and winning, and more than that, is the single largest and most powerful vessel in the system at the time? The Eternity had them scared for good reason... and the EDF crew let slip multiple times that the Eternity was supposed to not act alone, but as part of a larger fleet. If Earth has the ability to mass-produce fleets built around ships that can pulverize their best efforts, they know they probably won't win if Earth decides to press the issue. However- if they can make it so that Earth will bleed heavily for every battle taken, similar to what the CDF tried to do to Eternity at the end of the last war- then they might stand a chance of remaining independent. A battleship, one specifically taking key lessons from those learned fighting a single EDF ship in the war, would be the first step to modernizing the CDF fleet and ready it for fighting against something much stronger than them.
Third, and for once not one based on Eternity, at the moment in time that Brock had the argument with Mallard, there was a new threat. One that felt confident enough to fight against both the CDF and Riders at the same time, one who had new, terrifying technology that disables FTL Drives and has the potential to shift every battle in their favor. Having the ability to bring down massive amounts of force on a single- or multiple- targets is never not a good idea, and the sheer tonnage and firepower a CDF Battleship could theoretically be a great deterrant- or better, a hammer to crush the mysterious new threat.
Fourth, while the mysterious threat came out of nowhere... space is big. Really, really big. If something like the mysterious threat... okay, fine, I jumped into the series s02 ep 15, so I know they're the Khans. If the Khans can come out of nowhere, who's to say that there aren't more threats hiding in the wilderness? Pirate gangs building up their own fleets on a secret moonlet base around the gas giant next door to Malta? Riders testing the limits of CDF tolerance? The First Fleet deciding that they don't like what's going on in the outer system? Who knows? But big guns are a consistent way of keeping big problems at arms reach.
Ultimately that's why I'm not really bothered about the thought of CDF making their own battleship- while it's bad for Eternity, potentially, there's a lot of good reasons for the CDF to make it. I do wonder what would have happened had the ship been completed. Would Malta have fallen so easily? Could the Khans have been disrupted enough that them building two battleships of their own would have been made impossible? Who knows?

So far I'm at 5:30, I didnt expect the alliance to hold, but I see the potential of it. Though I will admit the EFN seems.. not on the ropes but it doesn't look good either, very limited supplies, no true allies currently, nor any safe locations to resupply at.
