I really appreciate how ylu can go "I don't think I'm the right person to review this game, so I won't beyond first impressions". It's a little too often that reviewers try a game that's clearly not for them, give up early, and then bash it as though it's the game's fault.
I’m glad the game at least got u curious story wise . Most people don’t eat fairy tail a chance for numerous reasons . So I’m glad u didn’t bash the series/game too harshly .it is surprising we got another game because the first one wasn’t that much of a seller so I hope this makes them continue to improve .
I do like the idea of an anime game that just focused in on its boss fights -- in that Furi, No More Heroes, Shadow of the Colossus kind of way. If you broke down the moments in Shounen battle manga we remember and were most invested in it would be the boss-fights.
You are right! From a certain point, it starts to feel the same, but I'm going to finish it anyway :p Small hint: if you only punch when exploring, sometimes only hit 3/4 opponents, try also use the hold + [ ] (square) with Laxus, e.g., will kill 10/11 opponents, at least seems better and it's not always a "punch".
Here's a hot take: I'd actually love to have a Fairy Tail arena fighter. Not a fan of the series at all (dropped it 11 times), but like a lot of the character designs and I think they'd be fun to play in an arena fighter setting. It'd also likely get me to actually go through the story.
"They wrote the power of friendship into the plot." Do you know how little that narrows it down on which plot you're talking about. Every arc has the power of friendship in the plot someway or another XD. I still love Fairy Tail for that tho
@VoltageShock30 It feels weird if there's no power of friendship. Just imagine if you watch Dragonball and there's no transformations or powerups and everybody just fights in base forms. It just doesn't feel the same😂
If they ever do 100 years quest, it should definitely be a beat em up kinda like yakuza, fairy tail is not made for turn based anything, natsu is not a wait his turn fighter, he’s an overwhelm and destroy the opponent quickly fighter
Yeah I played the first game and it was not great Boring generic quests terrible design of world and levels and ugly visuals But the combat was also lame Not only was it just brain dead easy, turn based combat is hard to implement well either anime games since everything is so fast
The combat for the game kinda sounds like a better version of One Piece Romance Dawn for the 3DS which I think is right up my alley cause I liked the combat even if the overall game itself wasn’t the greatest
I really enjoyed what I watched of Fairy Tail, so I was all for the first game. Out of the three JRPGs I played in 2020 (Yakuza LAD, FF7 Remake, and this), Fairy Tail turned out surprisingly the least disappointing. It had noticeably cut corners and a lot of repetition, but it was a fun time that was worth completing to 100% achievements. That said, the transition to more real-time combat with the sequel didn't really encourage me to get Fairy Tail 2 so readily. That and with how much of my backlog I need to resolve anyway, I'm more willing to wait on this one.
It's not revolutionary, but it's a good game, interesting mechanics, the evolution system of abilities fits it's RPG genre a lot better than the 1st. I think the only downgrade when we compare to the previous game is they cut half of the playable characters.
This game just makes me so sad cause I loved the first one so much and then they ruined the 2nd game I mean yeah it looks and sounds much better but everything else is just worse compared to the first game
So, apart from arena fighters and turn-based games, is there anything else for anime games, or is that the norm, and we'll never get something different (except indie games)?
Quarter knights was basically a shooter and ultra rumble is a battle royale genre like Fortnite. Also there's straight up 2d fighters like Nen impact and dbfz and I don't think Xenoverse is classed as an arena fighter either. And the pirate warriors series are musou games So yeah variety exists, and while there is a norm, we get different games
There are barely any turned based anime games outside of Yugioh. What are you even on about? Just off the top of my head -Every SAO game (Action RPGs + 1TPS) -One Piece Pirate Warriors 1-4 -One Piece World Seeker -One Piece Unlimited Word Red -Made in Abyss Binary Star -The AoT games -a crap ton of VNs -Danmachi dungeon crawler -That Spy x Family game -Dragon Ball Breakers -DBFZ -DBZ Kakarot -HxH Nen Impact (coming next year) -7DS Origin (coming at some point) -A Shin Chan game -Nardo Shinobi Strikers -My Hero Ultra Rumble -FotNS game -Berserk warriors game -That Slime Isekai game -I think there's an Arslan Senki warriors game -Konosuba sidescroller -Overlord Metroidvania -Demon Slayer Sweep the Board -Older, but Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Also -That Death Note Among Us game -FotNS exercise game -Dragon Quest Dai game -Some of the Gundam games -Maybe the Super Robot Wars games. Not exactly sure, but they definitely exist at least -Dragon Ball Heroes And if ya wanna look at handheld, there're: -Dragon Ball Fusions -One Piece platform fighter -DBZ Extreme Butoden -One Piece 2D fighter (that can also cross over with the DBZ game) -a 7DS sidescrolling action game -Pretty sure there's also another AoT game in there somewhere
I honestly don't think you have to be a fan or know a lot about the series to review this game and in fact it might be interesting to have the perspective of someone who does not really know or care about fairy tale like that and what they think about this game for a full review, instead of most of the reviews for this game which are from either fans or people who are at least familiar with the series. I can understand why you'd be hesitant but honestly it would be a different perspective to bring to the table
I mean game looks just from visual and gameplay seems solid enough the only thing is I don’t think I will play it because I don’t like these types of games as well as disliking the anime but seems solid enough to be considered a decent game sadly can’t say the same for dragon ball games this year or naruto or any other anime I guess the new bleach one but I haven’t seen enough on it yet so that’s a no opinion from me
Honestly anime games like this aren't good and are always a let down they would of been better of making anime games musou games like one piece pirate warriors 4 instead of making these mid games or mobile games like a bleach, fairy tail musou game would be cool to see and I can definitely see it to fit the genre especially for fairy tail
The indie games were very good and when I heard Fairy Tail will get a console game I was happy, till I know it will be the 2 part of the previous game. The 1st game was an empthy cashgrab, boring, uninteresting retelling of the anime. This game seems like an upgrade from the first game, but I'm afraid it still a disappointment. I hope they drop this series and Fairy Tail finally will get a good console game in the future.
I cant play anime action / fighting games turn based games it’s fairy tail they’re supposed to throw hands /combos like an arena fighter or a final fantasy 7 rpg style would’ve been okay only turn based games should be Pokémon and even then there not accurate to the show so I’m never playing anything like this

Thanks for checking this one out, I was on the fence but I will definitely give it a go now
Welcome to ARPG of GUST Fairy Tail 2 and it's really awesome tho.

I just platinum-ed this a few days ago, it was Fun and didn’t take too long. I recommend
Reminds me of Naruro Kizuna Drive if anyone remembers that lol

It’s crazy how fans of FT can see it as a strength and those who don’t like it see it as a weakness. Glad I’m on the side that loves it😂

@ Exactly. It’s true Mashima could’ve wrote the story in a more serious tone, but the friendship aspect of it gives this story life.
@@luqmanloki4803I guess you've never watched OG Dragon Ball, the best series of the franchise.
@hibikikyu I agree soooo much with you

Way better than One piece Odyssey that’s for sure.
Eh both are fine

I wish Fairy Tail Dungeon has this budget o.o
I’m still gonna keep asking for a late review of Fate/Samurai Remnant 🙏🙏🙏 Please Globku-sama 🙏🙏🙏
With this game and Farmagia Hiro Mashima really getting paid.
well it is the final FAIRY TAIL arc just not the final thing from fairy tail coz 100 year quest is a new manga like super is from dragon ball
I got platinum in the game in three days ❤
This game just makes me so sad cause I loved the first one so much and then they ruined the 2nd game I mean yeah it looks and sounds much better but everything else is just worse compared to the first game
I bought this but ive been playing Marvel Rivals and Dragon Quest 3 Renake

Just off the top of my head
-Every SAO game (Action RPGs + 1TPS)
-One Piece Pirate Warriors 1-4
-One Piece World Seeker
-One Piece Unlimited Word Red
-Made in Abyss Binary Star
-The AoT games
-a crap ton of VNs
-Danmachi dungeon crawler
-That Spy x Family game
-Dragon Ball Breakers
-DBFZ
-DBZ Kakarot
-HxH Nen Impact (coming next year)
-7DS Origin (coming at some point)
-A Shin Chan game
-Nardo Shinobi Strikers
-My Hero Ultra Rumble
-FotNS game
-Berserk warriors game
-That Slime Isekai game
-I think there's an Arslan Senki warriors game
-Konosuba sidescroller
-Overlord Metroidvania
-Demon Slayer Sweep the Board
-Older, but Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax
Also
-That Death Note Among Us game
-FotNS exercise game
-Dragon Quest Dai game
-Some of the Gundam games
-Maybe the Super Robot Wars games. Not exactly sure, but they definitely exist at least
-Dragon Ball Heroes
And if ya wanna look at handheld, there're:
-Dragon Ball Fusions
-One Piece platform fighter
-DBZ Extreme Butoden
-One Piece 2D fighter (that can also cross over with the DBZ game)
-a 7DS sidescrolling action game
-Pretty sure there's also another AoT game in there somewhere

eh its kind of a mid anime but I'm glad their fans get so many new games
Not a fan but idm the dub so does the game have English Dub??
Nope.

I used to be fairy tail fan but the way the last arc was handled really just turned me off the series
Fairy tail should definitely should have a hero shooter game

Why the hell games are falling back to turn base? That's when tech was limited to make action game.
turn based are a game genre since forever????
