2nd gen scion xb 2008-2015 idler pulley removal and replacement. The corect way!

this is the corect easy way to replace idler pulley, please don't listen to other people saying to remove engine mounts and lower the engine.

Thanks for making this video. Separate job, the belt tensioner if we need to replace, need to raise the engine right? The bolt hits the frame but needs to completely come out.

I think you might have to lower or raise the engine for that. If you have the spring tensioner I'd just replace the pulley but if you have the hydraulic one you end up having to replace it with age

So can you show how to loosen those bolts,? they're hard to get to, specially the upper one...

I used the extra long double box end flex ratcheting wrenches. You can get them on amazon or icons from harbor freight but they are like $200. You can probally reach with a regular ratcheting wrench tho.i can make a video showing how to get to it tomorrow
