B9 A4 6mt manual transmission. awd (transfer case) fluid change and adaptation
so I have a 2018 b9 a4 manual transmission. and I wanted to make a video about how to properly service the fluid. I am having issues with vibrations, and just had my awd unit replaced... so in the video my fluid has mabye 200 miles on it and there is still alot of material in the fluid

this is the corect easy way to replace idler pulley, please don't listen to other people saying to remove engine mounts and lower the engine.

this video is how to remove a 2nd gen scion xb 2008-2014 dashboard and repair the electric power steering damper that disintegrates over time and makes rattle noises. it can also cause wandering from the steering too..so of toyots have very similar electric power steering systems, but I couldent find a video how to repair a 2012 scion xb... so I made one.

im a golf course equipment manager and just wanted to throw this video out there to mabye help someone in the future. putting a splice wire in a top dresser belt is a pain in the butt. but I found spinning it slowly with a drill was super simple and easy after lining it up with some tape.

So can you show how to loosen those bolts,? they're hard to get to, specially the upper one...
I used the extra long double box end flex ratcheting wrenches. You can get them on amazon or icons from harbor freight but they are like $200. You can probally reach with a regular ratcheting wrench tho.i can make a video showing how to get to it tomorrow

So, I ordered the red background and black emblem for my front and rear badges, Do I need to do what you did to take the old ones off ? Or is there an easier way to remove the base emblem that came with the car? Looking for info before I start anything, I want to do both the front and rear.
Thanks for making this video. Separate job, the belt tensioner if we need to replace, need to raise the engine right? The bolt hits the frame but needs to completely come out.
I think you might have to lower or raise the engine for that. If you have the spring tensioner I'd just replace the pulley but if you have the hydraulic one you end up having to replace it with age
Thanks for the video. I'm starting to experience this issue while driving on the highway or just turning slowly on roads. Consistent rattling noise from the steering column. I had parked and left the car on - stuck my head under the dash - and turned the steering wheel to the right and then to the left. I was thinking it was maybe the u-joint with a metal on metal issue, but it's still lubricated. Glad to know from your video that it is an inexpensive part. My 2008 xb (5spd) has 208k miles... bought used with 23k miles. She's a good oil burner. Quart / 400-500 miles.
I thought it was the intermediate steering shaft u joints at first to. But doing some research on other toyota models that use the same steering system, I found out the damper for the electric motor was the issue. No one has posted any videos or anything on fourms, so I made a video about it. Yep mine is burning oil pretty bad too... stupid piston ring designs.
Dang.. i need to replace the grill on my 23. Has a huge hole in it from a rock. I was hoping i wouldn't need to remove the entire bumper, but oh well. I've done it many times for a handful of Civic Sis I've owned. Just sucks cause it's time consuming and i feel like the fitment after being put back on is never as good as before it was removed.
How did you remove the very top trim? I’m stuck on that part. Pulled all the screws I could see and not sure what else to do
Do you mean where the guage and speedometer are? There is a piece of trim that pops out which will show all the other screws
Here is an eBay listing for the trim around speedometer, so you can see exactly what pops out. Ok so how did you replace that wheel or bushing that was falling apart?
@BiggECheez you have to remove the dash board, then remove the two bolts for the electric power steering motor... and the damper just comes out.

Hey, I don't need to replace the badge or anything like that, however I have a question. The passenger light is slightly misaligned and I wanted to find out from you, if I can just remove 2 screws and 2 clips from the fender liner. After that unclip the bumper under a headlight and pry it open a bit to expose the headlight bolts without removing the rest of the bumper bolts/clips which are under the car?

I’ve seen this done on a Camry by removing the entire steering wheel assembly. This looks like it might be a tad easier.
I agree less things to remove. I've done it on 15 Camry 14 ES350 and 15 XB and the easiest was the XB. Just 1 panel and 1 cross bar bracket and then the column comes down
Can't seem to find a video to drop the column. I would rather do that than take apart the dash🤔 ... it's pretty easy huh? Maybe I should go look at it and see if I can figure it out@@alex102390

SO can I just remove the top trim piece above the headlight? I just need to remove that to wrap my headlight
My favorite part is the 1:00 to 1:40 mark where it's just an extreme close up of the bumper. Just kidding. I was going to replace my front emblem, but taking the bumper off is way too difficult for me and I don't feel like paying Acura a few hundred to do it.
You can get a local garage to do it. They'll charge, of course, but maybe cheaper than dealership.

Just a little helper tip, if you slide a credit card in behind the plate once you release the tape surrounding, it pops right off!!!

Yeah, I did buy it from autonation South Bay. Yeah it was super simple there's probally alot better videos out now explaining how to install them

Its really pretty simple ill help you out if you in la california. I just added the front and rear black emblems, and the black spec badges. Plus I plasti diped the center caps on the rims to get rid of every bit of crome

Hmm you might be able to but there's not alot of space to fit a hand and a stuby screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the badge in
Check your harmonic balancer with the car OFF. See if you can move the belt with it off. In other words, try to spin the belt by hand. I've never seen a 3.8 with a knock that was actually the engine but that is a knock

@@robertgonzales2782 That's a rod brother, sorry I was just messing around. Definitely sounds like a rod on the big end. Usually piston knock on the small end doesn't sound like that. But you can pick those engines up cheap here in Illinois. If you swap it yourself you'll have a good old beauty for another 200k plus.
@@thomashodis5740 I may need to order one since my 04 lesabre with 86k miles is starting to do this. Plus oil has a bit of grey in it

does the front badge light up at night? because on the acura website it shows it lighting up, but idk of thats because of the graphics on the website or not
You can purchase the front acura badge/emblem that lights up at night, when I went to my acura dealer he had one in Stock and showed it to me... it was pretty cool all black with tiny led's in it but it was over $400. So I just bought the glossblack one for a little over $100 absolutely rip off haha. The directions say it's the same procedure but that there is a small conection to plug in to somewhere in there
