I have the same heat gun, just bought it to replace another one. I use it to shape plexiglas. I've msde waterfalls and under gravel filters gor fish tanks, domed lenses for shop lights, a lighted console for my truck.
They really aren’t designed to get this hot. That isn’t an expensive heat gun (Harbor Freight) but note how much thicker it is then a regular hair dryer. Also, it get VERY hot after a bit.
Just search youtube. The key is to heat the glass evenly at the same time, otherwise it will likely crack. Also the temperature is much higher so you need professional gear.
Janis Rough - it might be difficult unless you have the glass as a pattern. I would imagine you could bend a sheet of plexiglass the same width as the window directly on the window and then trace the borders. I just don't know if it would adhere to the glass at all. I suspect not, but it would be a disaster if it did.

I have a piece that has a bend I want to unbend it to make it straight. Is that possible?
Given HOW the plastic bends (stretching one side and compressing the other), likely not with a nice smooth outcome.
Hi,
It will work with hair dryer?
I dont think a hair dryer will be hot enough.

That's still not wide enough to worry about even heat across the bend. It might take a length of copper tube with that heat fed in.
Hello Brothers, can I make a float glass band in the same way? Please answer

I'M NOT SURE HOW HOT THE ENGINE BAY GETS SO WHAT THICKNESS WOULD YOU RECOMEND?
1:36 , I thought there is sudden nature call, he left the heat gun turned on.
Yeah you should never leave a heat gun running like that
Thought about using plexi glass as a windshield for my 86 blazer how hard would it be?
You can use it for a windshield for sure as long as you have a way to mount it down
IS PLEXIGLASS HEAT TOLLORANCE?
JUNEORJUNE yes - no discernible change in color or translucency (other than caused by the flexing of the material)
My heat gun has attchments that can narrow the heat gun area to a more concentrated region, may help with tighter bends if no mould is available?
I would recommend using a form if you can, you will get a more reproducible result
That's a thick piece, around 3/16?
Carl Zorro 3/16 or ⅛, can't remember and not sure where this scrap piece is, the other part is in a window
Is possible to bend 1/4" using that method?
Brilliant

What kind of gloves are you using?
It would help if you added subtitles to your video as the hot air gun drowns out your voice.
