Was the Last Supper a Passover meal or not?

  • There is some controversy about if Yeshua's last supper was a Passover meal or not. This is due to a question about the timeline presented in the gospels. Some people think there is a conflict between the synoptic gospels and the gospel of John, because the Synoptics say that Yeshua ate the Passover at the last supper, while John says that Yeshua died on the preparation day for the Passover.
There is a saying that, "an honest but mistaken man once shown the truth either ceases to be honest or ceases to be mistaken." My desire is to be an honest man who is willing to correct my mistakes. That's why I chose the name UNLEARN for this ministry. We must always be humble enough to admit when we make mistakes, and willing to repent and make the appropriate changes. When we are presented with new information, we need to be willing to re-evaluate what we believe about that topic.
I have recently been presented with new information that has changed my understanding about the Last Supper. I am now convinced that the last supper was in fact a Passover meal, and in this video I am going to explain why.
The argument really boils down to a question about when the Passover meal is supposed to be eaten. Some say it is to be eaten at the evening beginning the 14th, while others say it is to be eaten the evening beginning the 15th.
I previously believed the Passover was to be killed at the end of the 14th and eaten on the 15th. This is how most modern Jews celebrate Passover, and I assumed they were correct in their observance. However, after a closer examination of the Scriptures, I'm convinced that the Passover must be eaten at the evening beginning the 14th, because Yahweh passed over their houses during the night of the 14th. That is why the 14th day is called the Passover.
    Numbers 28:16-17
So we see from this verse that the 14th day is the Passover and the 15th day begins the Feast of Unleavened Bread. There is a distinction made between these two days. Passover is not the first day of Unleavened Bread, Passover takes place the day before the Feast begins.
The Synoptics tell us that Yeshua and His disciples ate the Passover the night beginning the 14th day.
    Matthew 26:17-19
Now, we just discussed that Passover is on the 14th and the Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th, so why does Matthew say on the first day of unleavened bread they asked where to kill the Passover? The word translated as "first" is the Greek word prōtē which means "before", "best", or "what comes first". So, it could be translated "before the day of Unleavened Bread", which makes more sense, because if it was already the Feast of Unleavened Bread they would have been a day late.
We know the meal Yeshua ate with His disciples took place on the evening beginning the 14th, because Yeshua died the evening beginning the 15th according to John's Gospel. John tells us it was the preparation day for the High Sabbath, which is on the 15th.
    John 19:31
This was not the preparation day for the weekly Sabbath, it was the preparation day for the High Sabbath beginning the Feast of Unleavened bread.
Now, back to Matthew 26. These verses really cause problems for those who say the Passover is eaten on the 15th, because they say that Yeshua died before the Passover was to be eaten, but all three Synoptic Gospels say that Yeshua ate the Passover before He was killed.
Notice that Yeshua made an emphatic statement that He was going to eat the Passover at that place with His disciples.
    Matthew 26:18-19
If you say that this was not a Passover meal, then you are disagreeing with the words of Yeshua. Not only that, but the Bible also says the disciples "prepared the Passover", indicating that they prepared the lamb. All three synoptic Gospels are in agreement on these points, but Luke includes something that the others do not say.
    Luke 22:13-16
Yeshua again calls this meal the Passover and says that He has been looking forward to eating it with them before He suffers. He had eaten Passover every year of His life, but this Passover was special, because this was His Passover. He knew that this was the Passover when He would establish the New Covenant in His blood.
    Matthew 26:26-28
Passover is a covenant meal and Yeshua ate the Passover with His disciples explaining that it is the New Covenant in His blood. This connects with the covenant that Yahweh made with Israel before they left Egypt, when He covered them with the blood and protected them from the destroyer.
    Exodus 12:23
So, we see the 14th day is the Passover beginning at sunset, because Yahweh passed over them that night, and the 15th day is the High Sabbath. Yeshua ate the Passover covenant meal with His disciples on the night beginning the 14th, then He died at the end of the the 14th, finalizing the salvation and sealing the New Covenant in His blood.

For those saying that they thought Judas went to go buy a lamb, you need to understand that the lambs had to be bought on or before the 10th of Aviv. No way he was going to buy a lamb this late.

I love that you stated how we can be in disagreement and still have fellowship. Many would do well to take this stance. I agree that if it does not pertain to the foundational truth of the gospel we should be able to reason with each other without contention. Unfortunately some people are arrogant and spew insults at people who don't agree with their every belief. We are all continually learning through studying the Word and letting the Ruach lead us into all truth. Thank you for your insights. I always appreciate them.

    I have a question:
    • Jesus ate the Passover with his Disciples,
    • then was arrested and tried by the Jews,
    • then they then took Jesus to Pilate and they would not enter the Praetorian that they might not be defiled so they could eat the Passover (John 18: 28)
I see a timeline problem. How did Jesus eat the Passover and the Passover is yet future for these Jews?

    • @TorahisLifeandLight
      @TorahisLifeandLight 2 роки тому

Yes there is a contradiction on the timeline or even the assumption that the Messiah did not celebrate it Passover but only had a meal with his disciples.
The Passover narrative have nothing to do with the Messiah. The festival of Passover was never intended or predicted to be replaced by another festival or covenant. or even modified in any way. It was a permanent festival ( forever) . Did the Most High God forget to mention it? lol Deut. 12:14,42
Where is that Scripture that says that it would be replaced by a human blood sacrifice in the Exodus narrative? Using as a parallel is merely an "assumption" not a true understanding of the intent of the narrative. I mean in the Tanakh not NT. Specially speaking of Messianic prophecies.
Where in the Deut chapter 12 says that the future Messiah will parallel that festival?
The meaning of the Passover was not intended for the forgiveness of sins of the Israelites nor blood covenant.
Abba did not make the covenant with Israel until the Law given by Moses but not in the Passover narrative my friends.
The Messiah was not Passover by Jews in the first century. Why? Because all Jews including Yeshua himself remembered that festival as a deliverance of Slavery in Egypt and receiving an inheritance as a nation when they entered the promised land. BUT Christianity claims otherwise and interpreted as the last supper lamb only as a blood covenant for the forgiveness of sins.
      .
According to Deuteronomy 12 , it could've been also "goat" not a lamb. See Deut 12:5
That's the assumption of Christian pastors and clergy.

There is one problem in your explanation sir. Acc to Exo 12:7 the Passover lamb should be sacrificed on 14th evening. Exactly Jesus died on the 14th evening 3pm when the Passover lamb was supposed to be sacrificed.
If Jesus took a pass over meal, the lamb should have been sacrificed on 13th evening which contradicts Exo12:7.

I've got to say that I struggle with this one! Reading through Exodus, it seems clear to me that the Passover is eaten on the night of the 15th. Exodus clearly talks of the feast being seven days long, and it begins on the 14th day at evening (which begins the 15th day) (Ex 12:17-19). It becomes eight days, if you count the actual 14th day too.
Exodus 12:51 states that they left their homes the same day of the Passover meal, which is made clearer in Numbers 33:3. In 2 Chronicles 35:1, Josiah clearly killed the Passover on the 14th (the meal obviously that night).
In Luke 22:15, I see Yeshua is saying that I desire to eat this [upcoming] Passover with you, but I will not eat it anymore [this time and onwards, until ...]. *He* was to become the Passover Lamb, so wouldn't be attending the meal.
Anyway, just some of my thoughts on the scriptures involved. I think the Tanakh makes it clearer. I certainly agree that it's not worth fighting over, but we all still need to strive for the truth. It took me a few years of frustrating study to come to my conclusion, but as you say, if any of us are wrong (myself definitely included!), we need to humble ourselves and change accordingly! YHWH bless you - and us all as we look to Him for our guidance!!

I do have a question for you, in reference to the captives that Jesus set free I have heard many interpretations. I've heard that the captives were old testament saints, fallen angels, or even that it applies to us today saying that we, the living believers, are slaves to sin and he freed us. to Abrupt Decay: Lex addressed that in a previous video. (Sorry, can't tell you which one) He suggested that they were recently dead (rather than major figures from the past.) which would help explain why not one name is mentioned. And that they afterward died again. That is, they did not rise to eternal life, but their resurrection was a temporary continuance of our temporal life.

There are two ways that people look at that verse. Some say that Yeshua was scolding them for bringing swords, while others say that He was telling them that they don't need any more swords. I think He was saying that they have enough swords and do not need any more, because in verse 36 He told them to get a sword.

In a show called unlearn the lies, we are learning a lie I feel like, Go figure. How can Yeshua partake of the passover lamb when he is the passover lamb. Not only that, but if he is the passover lamb for us, then this would mean that he either died on the wrong day or did passover on the wrong day. The only possible conclusion (which also comes from John as he is a primary source) is that the last supper wasn't the passover seder.
UPDATE: Another reason k have trouble with this is because the synoptics all say that the pharisees wanted him dead before the passover lest a riot break out among the people. So they have a motive and a reason to do it beforehand anyway, I also feel that Yeshuas words are still consistent even if the meal they are eating is not a passover meal.

Passover has to be the evening of the 14th because the Israelites were not allowed to leave their homes until the morning, and then they had to go and spoil the Egyptians the next day--the daytime of the 14th. They then leave Egypt on the evening of the 15th which was the beginning of Unleavened Bread. If Passover was the evening of the 15th, then that means they left Egypt that same night, which does not make sense, because they were not to leave their homes until morning and they needed time to spoil the Egyptians.

Hence Yahshua's last supper was not a Passover meal because the lambs were only killed the following afternoon-around the time Yahshua The Passover Lamb was killed! See Jn 19:14.

The Passover meal cannot be eaten prior to the sacrifice being killed. Yeshua Messiah's blood covering must come first. Therefore, the Last Supper could not have been Pesach .

    • @unlearnthelies
      @unlearnthelies  7 років тому +8

To conclude that the Last Supper was not Passover, one has to ignore the fact that Yeshua and the disciples called it Passover 4 times in Matthew, 5 times in Mark, and 6 times in Luke. You also have to ignore the fact that Yeshua specifically said that He was going to eat the Passover with His disciples, and ignore the text that says "on the day the passover was to be killed" and ignore the text says "the disciples prepared the passover".

    • @BonnieBlue2A
      @BonnieBlue2A 7 років тому +9

I respectfully disagree. Yeshua did not eat the Passover meal because he was crucified and died at the very time the unblemished lambs were killed for the Passover. He is our Passover. He cannot both be the meal and eat the meal prior to being crucified and 3 days in the grave prior to his resurrection.
The timeline of Matthew 26:2 and Mark 14:1 is the 12th day.
      Matthew 26:17 -18 is on the 13th.
Yeshua expresses his fervent desire to eat the Passover meal with his disciples in Luke 22:15 . However, nowhere in These verses are the required parts of the Passover meal of the bitter herbs, lamb, and unleavened bread mentioned. John 13:2 simply calls it a supper. See also John 18:28 in regard to the timeline of Passover not yet having occurred.
I think we can agree that Yeshua, being sinless, kept the Passover and Passover meal perfectly during his lifetime. Therefore, he would not have broken leavened bread (Strong's #740) with his disciples as he did in Luke 22:19, were it the Passover meal.

to Bonnie Blue: I believe you are correct. It is challenging to work to 'harmonize' many accounts which don't seem to be amenable to being harmonized. (Then there is the addition of layers of 'tradition' which further confuses the matter.) Add to all of that the fact that we are working with a translation of a translation. (The original was written in Hebrew) and the water is muddied almost beyond hope. (Our Hope is that the Spirit of YAHUSHA is promised to guide us into all truth, so we can do what is pleasing to the Savior) While it is humanly impossible to harmonize all the stories, It is my understanding that the original had not 'prepare the Passover' but rather 'prepare FOR the Passover'-- which is actually how Matt 26:17 is rendered in the translation I use --(ISR)-- which leads me to your conclusion, and in contradiction to Lex"s.

Nicely done, Lex. I appreciate your humble attitude. I too believe Jesus ate the Passover meal on the 14th and died just before sunset that same day. UB begins on the 15th and is the (high) Sabbath, not the Weekly Sabbath, that has so many confused. I have a feeling many of the disagreements we experience are due to mistakes in our English translations.
    Hypothesis for you:
    - Nisan 10 (the day Jews were to select their Passover sacrifice): Jesus is hailed (selected) as King at his triumphant entry.
    - Nisan 11
    - Nisan 12: Jesus is anointed
    - Nisan 13
    - Nisan 14: Passover, arrest, trial, crucifixion. This is also Preparation Day.
    - Nisan 15: 1st day of Unleavened Bread (high Sabbath)
    - Nisan 16: UB
    - Nisan 17: UB
    - Nisan 18: UB
    - Nisan 19: UB
    - Nisan 20: UB
    - Nisan 21: UB (high Sabbath)
Note: First Fruits falls on the 1st day of the week. Jesus rose on that day.
If that timing is correct, then:
    - Nisan 10 was Sunday
    - Nisan 14 was Thursday
    - Nisan 17 was Sunday

Atos, means leavened bread, there are two evenings on the 14th Abib-Nissan, on the 13th afternoon was done the preparation and on the evening 13/14 after sundown was the last Souper, late that night he was apprehended and in the morning on the 14th before Pilates, at midday on the Cross and at 03.00pm he gave his spirit to the father, he was the perfect lam slaughtert on the 14th at the exact time the lams would be slaughtert at the tempel, at sundown 14/15th Abib-Nissan, unleavened bread and peshach, so our Ha Masiach could only have his meal without the lam been slaughtert in the tempel and with leavened bread, Atos, the last Souper was a old tradition from Egypt, they remembered the first borns who died by the angel by having each year the last Souper , lots of Egyptians went with the Hebrews, even after loosing they're firstborns, this I how they remembered them, now we do the same to remember our king of kings and to take part of his covenant with bread and wine,. I do believe that a lot of the confusion is caused by not correctly placing the Sabbath *day*. If you believe that the Sabbath goes from evening to evening (and most erroneously do), then it throws the whole count off. If instead you understand that the Sabbath is only the daylight hours of the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th days of the lunar month (as evidenced in ALL the Scriptural dates), then you will also understand that the 14th day of the first month is Passover and also the day that Yahushua died. The next day (15th), is a _High_ Sabbath because it is not only the weekly Sabbath, but also the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This makes the 16th the first day of the week and the Day of First Fruits when Yahushua arose.
If you read the account of those who took His body, bought burial linens and spices, and worked all night in preparing His body, only laying it in the tomb as the *dawn* of the High Sabbath was breaking, you will understand that this is _the key_ to your confusion. The Scriptures bear the Truth and should be read literally and without preconceived assumptions and prejudice.
All us Truth seekers are admonished to "unlearn the lies" of our fathers before us. We are all at different stages of this path.
I am compelled, as you are, to share the Light and Truth that I have received.
Scripture states that only fools discount information before investigation, and of course we know what Scripture says about those who turn their backs on Truth.
I will be glad to answer any question you may have about my above statement.

You must begin with respect for the Old Testament and with the understanding that the authors and audience embraced the Old Testament. The gospels were written by and primarily for Jews. Absent this context, you will see disparate accounts. I feel that a faithful Jew who knows the Old Testament well would have more insightful things to say about the synoptic gospels than the professor of religious studies at UNC.

Mar 15:42 And when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,
Mar 15:43 Yosĕph of Ramathayim, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the reign of Elohim, came, boldly went in to Pilate and asked for the body of יהושע.
You can see that Yosĕph wanted to put our Masiach in the tomb before sabbath. What sabbath can this be? this sabbath cant be the weekly sabbath and must me the high sabbath of the first day of Chag HaMatzot. WHY? if this was the weekly sabbath we know that the first fruits must be after the weekly sabbath>
Lev 23:11 ‘And he shall wave the sheaf before יהוה, for your acceptance. On the morrow after the Sabbath the priest waves it.
So if that sabbath was weekly sabbat that ment our Masiach wasn't resurrection on first fruit (like prophecy states) that would have been on evening begining of day 1
1Co 15:23 And each in his own order: Messiah the first-fruits, then those who are of Messiah at His coming,
So day 4 at evening they laid him in the tomb:
    day 4 evening to day 5 evining 1night and 1day. day 5 evening to day 6 evening 2nights 2days. day 6 evening to day 7 evening 3nights and 3days.
Joh 20:1 And on the first day of the week1 Miryam from Mag¯dala came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.
the tomb of YAHUSHUA was already empty! Do not miss this point, the tomb was already empty, meaning HE did not arise on Sunday Morning! this making it 3 nights and 3 days = Matthew 12:40
This making imposible to have been te Pesach they ate. Remember when Yahushua came in to the city they asked where to prepare the Passover because they were on the 13th knowning preparation day will start at evening.

I'm starting to thing so too... 119 ministries' video on this makes way more sense of the timeline presented in the Bible.
Lex has yet to site any proof that shows that the Pharisees kept the Passover a day late. *Besides if the Passover really was on the 14th at the beginning of the day when would the 1st lamb (Exodus **29:38**) be killed?*

It was not the Passover meal because the bread they ate at the last supper was ordinary bread, not unleavened bread. Check it out in Strong's concordance G106 is azymos (unleavened), but G740 (artos) is ordinary raised bread which was eaten at the last supper, and whenever believers met and broke bread in the New Testament. Jesus was the Passover lamb that died at that time.

You lost me. Yeshua and His disciples were eating Passover, and during the Passover He takes the Passover bread and says this is my body, and then He took the Passover wine and said this is my blood, then He commanded His followers to do this (Passover) in remembrance of Him.
How exactly do you make the leap from Biblical Passover to a Catholic communion?
Also, He instructed them to proclaim His death, His broken body and poured out blood. He did not tell them to institute an Easter sunrise service. He said to keep Passover in remembrance of His sacrifice.

Yeshua died as Passover lamb; The Passion week is not for him to have Passover meal (Seder). Not a single text in the N.T. say he had Passover meal before His deal. He died on Abib 14 Passover day, Pilate's sentencing was Abib 13 (around midday), Last Supper was on Abib 12. Resurrection was Abib 16 (dawn). 'Day' in the bible is that which begins at dawn, not at sunset.

Is it possible that those who followed Pharisaical Judaism - that Yeshua often pointed out was in error - WERE keeping Passover (not according to God's instruction in Exodus 12 and elsewhere) on the 15th at the temple but many in the land were keeping the biblical Passover on the 14th in their homes? At any rate, God himself who gave the instructions, when come in the flesh, would certainly be consistent and obey his own commands regarding the Passover.
Many have erroneously equated the command in Exodus 12:6 to keep the Passover lambs “until the fourteenth” and slay them “at even” with the command in Exodus 12:18 to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread “on the fourteenth day of the month at even.” But understanding these two commands in the Hebrew text show they do not refer to the same time of day on the fourteenth.
In Exodus 12:6, the words “at even” are translated from bin e-orbim (ben ha arbayim), (literally between the evenings) which occurs at the beginning of the 14th.
In Exodus 12:18, the words “at even” are translated from b'orb (ba erev), and refer to the end of the 14th at sunset.
This is further proof that the 14th from sunset to sunset is the Passover day and the 15th from sunset to sunset is the 1st day of Unleavened Bread. There is no confusion when one begins with the scripture and applies exegesis. Confusion always arises when people begin with a human idea (perhaps with good intention or not and remember the father of lies loves to twist scripture) and apply eisegesis.
Finally Levitcus 23:32 clearly states a Sabbath is from sunset (erev) to sunset (erev). In fact every day runs from sunset to sunset. Always begin with scripture and let other scriptures clarify and expound. Don't rely on Catholic/Protestant Priests of Pharisaical Judaic Rabbis who teach commandments and traditions of men instead of the commands of God.

The Lord;s supper was on Tuesday evening where he washed the disciples feet. Afterwards Jesus went to the garden to pray. He KNEW he was to BE THE PASSOVER LAMB. prayed from 6 - 9 am) when he was taken by the mob. That would have been on wednesday morning AM on the 14th of Nisan) Wednesday. His trial ended with him being put on the cross at 9 am - he died at 3:00 pm WHEN THE LAMBS were Killed!. That is WHY he is called our passover lamb. IF he had ate the passover meal late on Wednesday (preparation day) and then face the trial his crucification would have been on the DAY OF UNLEAVEN BREAD Thursday - a DAY of rest no work was to be done. He could NOT have ate the passover meal and been the passover lamb. During the Last Supper he TOLD Judas to do what he must. Judus went to petrayed him during the course of the last supper. There is no mention of a cooked Lamb, or bitter herbs. Did the disciples prepare the Lamb on a Tuesday the 13th before the 14th of Nisan? I believe you are dead wrong in more ways than one!!!

There is one (most important) thing that you do not even address here, brother. In Jerusalem, aren't ALL the Passover lambs sacrificed by the Levitical Priests at the Temple? How then does THE Passover Lamb eat A passover lamb the day before He offers Himself as THE Passover Lamb...in perfect fulfillment of the rehearsal (moed) of Pesach (Passover)?
Aren't you also forgetting to mention the feast of the Firstborn?
This is particularly poignant and very interesting when we consider the prophecy of Ephraim-My-firstborn (of the Spirit) who KNOWS MESSIAH when He returns and is happy as with wine in Zechariah10:7 vs 12:10 which prophesies Judah will NOT know Him and mourn AS FOR AN ONLY SON when Messiah is finally recognized as the Passover LAMB OF YHVH when He returns as the King of kings! This is confirmed by the Ezekiel 37 "two sticks" of Ephraim OR Judah that any tribe or nation can "associate with."
In any case, we are wise to be honest...whether mistaken or not! ")

The Passover lamp did not presents Himself the day after. The 14th 06:00PM (Sun down) marked the start of Passover. The next day (that is the 15th on our calender)06:00AM till 06:00PM marked the end of the 14th.
Genesis tells us that God created night and day

When in doubt go back to the instructions in TORAH I say. Lev 23:5 ‘In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, between the evenings, is the Passover to יהוה. Now if you are going to eat the Passover rememberance meal on the evening of the 13/14 then that means that you HAVE to slaughter the lamb between the evenings on the 13th, thus breaking the distinct command to to keep it on the 14th. I see you did not address the issue of WHEN between the evings is ON the 14th.

So Jesus was crucified on the true Sabbath during Passover ( Saturday) and was resurrected on Wednesday because he was 3 days and nights in the earth. So Good Friday and "Easter" are on the wrong days.

He didn’t address the verse that states the pesach has to be eaten on the 15th though, plus the word protos like he said can be used in the synoptic gospels to show that the pesach had not begun until after Yeshua died. The only argument he makes I can’t seem to refute yet is how the gospels clearly say Yeshua had them prepare the pesach meal, which is strange because Yeshua hadn’t died yet and He is the meal himself. But yet he said this is my body and my blood, so In a weird way maybe the right answer is both are true. Maybe they did eat the pesach on the 14th in the bread and wine(body and blood) of Yeshua. Yet they also ate the normal pesach on the 15th as prescribed in the Torah.
The only think I find strange about this explanation is they technically don’t fulfill the Torah by eating Yeshuas pesach on the 14th, but maybe I’m missing something.
I just know the pesach must be eaten on the 15th, as Torah clearly states. So I wonder why our friend here didn’t mention that verse, and puts more weight on the synoptic Gospels rather than the Torah. Especially when the synoptic gospels if translated slightly differently can 90% accommodate the Torah without contradiction.

"Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath."
    Leviticus 23:27‭, ‬32 KJV
According to this, Atonement is on the 10th of Nisan, but it says, "in the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening". So, that's the 10th day.
    So, when it says this,
"In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.
And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord : seven days ye must eat unleavened bread."
    Leviticus 23:5‭-‬6 KJV
It makes me think it's the 14th day at even, from even to even, which would actually be the 15th day of Nisan, which is also what Google says, if you Google which day Passover is on. It does not say the 14th of Nisan (not that Google is any kind of authority).
Also, Passover is supposed to be on the full moon, if I'm not mistaken...
The 15th of Nisan is on March 28th, this year, starting at sundown, and is also the full moon.
So, it is most likely actually on Nisan 14, at sundown, from even to even, meaning the 15th of Nisan. Seems to line up, Biblically, as well as lining up with the lunar calendar, and the full moon.

The Passover Lords Supper was the fulfillment of the Lords Passover Supper. For Christ our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed 1 Corinthians 5:7. There is only one perfect sacrifice and one continuous celebration supper until Jesus returns. Israel participated in the Passover Supper by eating of the Lamb and applying the cup.We get the same benefits as Israel did by eating the Passover bread and cup which is health and protection etc. When Israeli ate the Passover Lamb And applied the cup it was imputed to them that they were participating in the future Calvary sacrifice. When we eat the Passover bread and apply the cup then we get the same benefits and greater because we are under a better covenant.and we are participating in Jesus Calvary sacrifice.

❤If we go with John alone, it all make sense. The preparation day for the festival of the unleavend bread and the Passover day are the same.
The first day of the unleavend bread is on the 15th, that is a high sabbath.
Seventh day of the unleavend bread is on the 21st, that is a high sabbath too.
    Yahusha is the Passover lamb.
They not ate passover, becase they ate bread and wine.. Not unleavend bread and lamb.
    They mistransalated many things.
