To be fair, in comics at least, I believe T'Challa bought a planet and made it part of Wakandan territory, and has portals connected to the Wakanda country on Earth. So in some cases, Wakanda can be referred to as another planet lol

Yes. I remember listening to him tell the story of how he got the role of Thurgood Marshall. He initially turned it down because he didn't think he looked enough like him. But then he was contacted by the family, he was their first choice, loving how well he portrayed Jackie Robinson and James Brown. Honored, he took on the role and did an amazing job in the movie Marshall 🥹

"Imagine that...a kid from Oakland believing in fairytales." That shit breaks my heart, because the fairytale he's talking about is the idea that he, and people that look like him, could be happy and prosperous and live in beautiful harmony. It's impossible for him to believe because of the awful, impoverished conditions he and so many other people of color in america were born into. As someone from similar circumstances i get that attitude. Even once you've gotten out and made it, you never really ever believe it, you never really feel like you made it. It always feels like a dream you're on the verge of waking up from because the pain of the hood is such that it never leaves you.

-Most people don't realize at first, that the opening narration is actually N'Jobu telling the story of Wakanda to his son Erik.
-When we first see N'Jobu in his apartment, planning something with "James", what he's actually planning is to break Erik's mother out of prison. Since N'Jobu was killed, Erik's mother died in prison and Erik was left completely alone.

When she asked if it was an armbar or guillotine and you said it wasn’t a real move, it was technically still 100% a triangle, but from the back. From the back is not as immediately effective as a choke, because the shoulder and arm don’t close the carotid artery, which completes the choke. But if you shift your hips and put the person’s shoulder and arm against their neck, it’s still a triangle choke. You can also just use your own arm, to shove it between the crease, closing off the carotid, and completing the choke. Or you can grab the arm you isolated and sink the choke and a modified armbar at the same time. And that’s just nasty. 😊

Ive been a fan of Chadwick Boseman since he played Famous Baseball Player Jackie Robinson in 42, and Soul Singer Jackson Brown in Get on Up, so when he was cast as Black Panther, I have NEVER been more excited to see someone more deserving take on role than this man. I enjoyed his performance as BP throughout his time in the MCU, and I love the impact he made in this universe. It broke my heart that he left us so soon, and to this day, it still doesn't feel real to me. The fact that he was sick while playing that role and enduring all that pain while keep going is proof that Chadwick is a hero. RIP T'Challa, you will be remembered and honored.

Tony Stark didn't know about Wakanda, Klaue is the only dude that knew the truth. So in the MCU, the vibranium Howard Stark used to make Cap's shield didn't actually come from Wakanda. It was found by a Stark Industries expedition to another part of Africa & as far as he or anyone else was aware, it was all of the vibranium in existence. Then in 1992, Klaue stole a bunch of vibranium from Wakanda (the last of which would later be used to make Vision's body) but the US intelligence agencies mistakenly believed that to be all that Wakanda had. Also I'd like to add something about W'kabi & why he sided with Killmonger so easily. When Klaue stole the vibranium, it was people from W'kabi's tribe, the border tribe, that were killed. More than that though, the border tribe are the guardians of Wakanda's borders & that means they have to live away from the advanced tech of the main cities. They have to hide their tech, they are the public face of Wakanda, the ones who live a simpler life to convince the world that Wakanda is just a third world country. Perhaps W'kabi thinks that the border tribe give up a lot for Wakanda & that maybe using some of Wakanda's vast resources to take down one guy that killed a bunch of their tribe, isn't too much to ask.

    • @kevinstudevant7370

Not everyone can take the heart-shaped herb. It works by combining with your DNA (aka royal blood) or being worthy in the comics), and will either enhance or kill you horribly. That is why the mantle of Black Panther is normally kept in the family (like Chadwick/Killmonger), but anyone can be king. I also believe that that is why M'Baku did not take the herb when it was offered to him.

The queen mother is Angela Bassett, an amazing actress (yes also 9-1-1)....you should look into some of her movies... this was a great movie...the beginning hits harder when you realise it's not young T'Challa asking his father (T'Chaka) to tell him about Wakanda, but actually young N'Jadaka/ Killmonger asking his father (N'Jobu/ T'Chaka's brother) to tell him about Wakanda, cause he's never been there.

(2) I'm not a fan of villains. I prefer Michael B Jordan in "Just Mercy" as Bryan Stevenson (in his early career before becoming director of the Equal Justice Initiative). Powerful performance in a film worth watching.

But I won’t lie, the Sequel does a Damn good Job at keeping his memory alive, at speaking to People who are filled with Grief and Loss and how the World continues to spin for better and for worse.
I highly recommend watching it. It’s such a strong film.

YES! 04:11 We need a Marvel Hero-movie about this "scraggely" dog. (Very good word Miss Octo!). Directed by Lasse Hallström (Ciderhouse Rules, Hachiko and a lot of other Dog movies). Also as a Swede I'm very proud of the Wakanda music made by Ludwig Göransson! Regarding DUNE - it's like the first half of the first book of six books... I liked it - but I love S.F. It's very "whispers in sand" for hours if you are not a fan... So I get it. Oh YES, DUNE directly inspired the creation of Star Wars. According to George Lucas.

Yep that Klaue guy is the same dude from Avengers Age of Ultron. He got his hand cut off by Ultron.
Without the suit T'challa is still very strong...he is basically a super soldier like Cap. And with the suit he is a super soldier on crack + bulletproof.
28:13 Because they have to be realistic to a certain degree😂.... it was a grenade...those stuff blow you up... so we have to expect at least a knock back. Here it didn't protect his ears aka very loud sound but still protected his body.
36:02 Yep Kilmonger does have powers. Only the king of Wakanda has powers by take the blue heart herb. The reason they take away the king's powers in a challenge is simply to make it a fair fight.

  • @S.Parrow

12:03 Everybody loves the first fight for the mantel of king, T'challa shows Mercy, it's awesome. But what really tugs on my heart is the Jabari are a religious minority, they do not worship the Black panther goddess. So for generations they were ostracized, but T'Challa shows them respect even though killing M'Baku their leader could have left the Jabari people vulnerable to a military occupation, like what happens to most minorities in countries throughout most of history. He could have eradicated everyone who questioned his Divine right to rule, *but he didn't.* AND THEN he gives M'Baku a seat on the council, to be a representative for his people.
"It's hard for a good man to be King"
    T'Challa the GOAT

I always wondered why this movie came in between the post credits scene of thor ragnarok, which we all knew was Thanos, and Infinity War (they used to do this thing where the post credits scene would tease the next movie).
Until I saw a video from the directors saying that the idea was "if Thanos ever gets to Earth, the best place to fight him would be Wakanda."

The reason they strip T’challa’s powers away during the challenge for the throne is because it would be cheating. Enhanced speed, strength, durability, and instincts. With all that there would be no challenge. Just a heads up to you guys. Also the reason t’challa got hurt with the suit on is because he didn’t disperse the kinetic energy in the suit so if it’s overcharged it’ll explode. Well in the comics it did.

Rest In Peace to a great actor. Loved everything Chadwick has been in and it was devastating to hear about his death. This movie sits heavy but as a reminder of just how talented he was. Even though he won’t be in the sequel to this film, I still can’t wait for you to watch Black Panther 2. They do an amazing tribute to him and the story is fantastic.
Love Andy Serkis, I’ve only seen one Lord of the Rings film but I’m a big fan of his work overall. I think of Caesar from the Planet of the Apes franchise when I see him. His mocap and performance in those movies is some of the best voice work and acting I have ever had the pleasure of watching. 😄
